Mornin' ladies~~~
Well it's still morning near Tucson anyway. :D laundry day for me today. And mail, so maybe I can get my taxes done since 2018 wa the first full year of pension only. This ought to be intersting.

Loved Tina's post on the horse show events. Hopefully she will get to see some wild ones too in her travels.

Im starting to head east this weekend, or maybe a day or two earlier. Keeping south though. If Illinois weather does the "in like a lion & out like a lamb" instead of the other way around, I may be able to surprise Ma for her birthday. She hates where she is living, but she doesn't realize it's for the best.

That's it from me. Have a good day & stay safe wherever you are.

Hi Cheryl and everyone!

Cheryl, I hope you're able to visit with your Mom for her birthday. I, too, enjoy the posts from Tina and others while on their journeys.

Ocala is having one more day of winter. The high today is 57 and we'll get down to 42 tonight. Needless to say, other than folks walking their pooches, there isn't much movement in the campground today. We sent our friend from MD, that just moved into the park a couple days ago, to our medical facility for medical questions she's having and was very happy with her visit there. We love the positive comments from folks that go there.

Wishing all of you well with the cold, snow, ice or whatever weather you may be having.

I'm glad others posted yesterday about staying in bed in the morning to read because it is cold to get out! I've been waking up and reading for at least an hour before I feel like tackling the world. I keep my Kindle in bed with me, so just have to reach over and grab it. Also read the news on my cell phone.

Not much going on, other than my platelets are doing much better. Still not normal, but I don't have to worry about a fall or cut causing me to bleed to death anymore! Hope the numbers get even better. This time it went from 83 to 113 in one week, which is fantastic! (Normal is 150-400.)

And of course, it is raining and cold outside. I took my motorhome to the mall yesterday and bought a couple of shirts then went via Uber to the doctor's office. Headed to Kohls to try to find a doorwall panel to cover my front cab area and prevent drafts, and then to Walmarts for a few groceries. it was dry when I started out, but raining when I got back, so had to hook up in cold and even fill water tank in the cold rain. Shoes and winter jacket were soaked when I came in. BUT, ONLY TWO MORE WEEKS HERE!!! Then I head to Napa and Las Vegas, for a few weeks. 8-)

Another chilly wet day in northern California. 1.14 inches from this storm so far. Yay. Some areas of Sierras they have 37 ft of snow! And that was yesterday with more overnight amd today through Friday ! I'm Waiting for lumber to arrive for my handyman, Sean, to begin rehab of rear decks. He will be here to stack and tarp it when truck arrives. Knew lumber has gone up but it's always painful to out $1500 on something you walk on! I got to thinking, you know how time seems to go by... We built those decks in 1990 and other than stain them only a few times, they have been neglected. Even redwood gets old after a while, so counting myself lucky, they aren't complete tear down, but replace a few boards, repair rails and bring to current code by making stiles closer together and bolting to house instead of freestanding with one one attached to sunroom. Then my paint guy will stain to match deck off my bedroom which was done last summer. In summer that MBR deck gets its second coat, then will be guaranteed for 6 years, by stain company. Has to be a year apart. If Sue were near, I bet she could have coached me to do it myself, but Sean gets this job!
I had a bad week, last week starting with a 07 call from Medtronics, Mel's insulin pump company, wanting all the details of his illness and death to make sure their pump wasnt at fault. I asked why are you calling at 07 in the morning? She appologised and said I'll call back. I said nope you woke me up, let's deal with it. So many detailed questions, by end of that day I was having some degree of PTSD. I already knew that day was the 5 month mark since his death. Late that evenng I actually got physically ill. Then Wednesday I learned my best friend has been diagnosed with endometrial cancer. I spent Thursday pretty much in my bed a mess. Wasn't til Friday evening before I began to pull it together again. I kind of wrote off last week...
I'm back to getting stuff done now but know those times will happen, it just startled me because I had thought I was doing so well.
Hope everyone has a wonderful rest of your day and week.
My only trip set for sure is June to a west coast womens rv get together in Oregon. More will be planned once some of these house things are done and out of my budget. Maybe a trip to MN if son has break between school and a new job.

Velda, we never know what will set us off. Sometimes just realizing what day of the month it is.

The steps and walkway across the back yard and up the hill that we built in 2006 are not in the best shape. Don't tell any one but I bet they are not up to code since a handy man built them. Every time one of the boards needs to be replace I have been using the man made boards that look like wood. I don't know what they are made of but suppose to last a long time.

Last night I went to eat at an Indian restaurant. I had never had that kind of food before and not a fan. We had chicken biryani which was rice cooked with pieces of chicken. It had a kind of minty flavor. Butter chicken, pieces of chicken cooked in kind of an orange gravy. Potato cauliflower curry and tomato dal curry which was kind of a thick soup. The best part of the meal to me was slices of fried eggplant. I could have eaten a ton of that. I am use to Louisiana spicy and Indian spicy is much hotter to me.

It looks like there is a lot of rain moving into California. Wonder when it will make it here. It got up to 70 today but still feels cool. I managed to get most of the yard mowed the other day before it rained. I even got part of the yard that was so over grown because I couldn't cut it when it was wet. I just kept cutting about a foot at a time and going slow. There was still an area I was afraid I would bog the mower. I need to prune the rose bushes. It has been so warm they are growing leaves.

Judy, glad you are doing so much better.

Martha

Velda, I'm sorry you got the call about the insulin pump, especially at 7:00 A.M.? Really!!! That's just wrong. And on top of that all the other issues you had the same day. You've had more than your share of things to take care of and then, this? I hope things look up for you.

We'll be heading west this summer but it will be probably late July or so before we get into CA.

Martha, you just posted and we might be in your neck of the woods later in the summer. I'll let you know our schedule.

Yeah, I guess I am never happy. The rain is a good thing, of course.

However, the thought of 37 feet of snow up in the Sierra - maybe melting all at once if a warm storm blows through (possible, has happened before) - and draining into Lake Oroville - makes my palms kinda start to itch.

I checked this morning, current lake level is at 741.21 feet, and climbing. Currently pouring rain outside, at the moment. Been having some hard rain all afternoon.

Water can be released from the spillway when the water level reaches 813 feet. When water is released down the spillway, it fills the Feather River, and puts water up on the levees. Sometimes way up. I live probably less than a mile from the Feather River.

If we get a series of strong - and warm - storms on top of all that snow, adding more inches of rain at the same time, it might be off to the races.

Again.

If the storms stay cold, we should be ok. I hope.

Keeping my eyes peeled, and my finger on the button.

Anne, the Grump

Ty and I spent the day with Eileen and Dave at the Pima Air and Space Museum. So I was up early, but with walking Ty and needing to drive from the west side to the east side, I didn't give myself much extra time. I love this museum and could spend another whole day and probably not see everything. I've been before, but many years ago. I especially enjoyed reading/seeing info about women in aviation.

Ty is exhausted and has been sound asleep since we arrived at our stop for tonight. I'm betting he'll get up for dinner when I prepare his food. Normally I'd be getting "the eye" by now.

Indian food is like other some good some not . I enjoy Indian food some more than others and some food more than others'. Butter chicken is so yummy and tandoori is as well.. love the smells of the spices while I was driving up to Vegas today I thought I ought to make something of that nature but didn't bring any of the spices with me some are more common others are not..so guess I won't be making it but hopefully we will get some now I can't think of the name of the nationality but my bother in law was part what ever this is and grew to enjoy some of their dishes.
up in Vegas for a few days came because my nephew broke his clavicle hopefully I can get a vet appointment as Shadow is in need of some of his shots. and perhaps a grooming appointment other than it is so cold I hate to get him trimmed down but it is way past due

It is past midnight here but thought I would post anyways.

Headed out of Palm Springs fairly early so I could try to get home before the rain started. I timed it well. It started raining just as I pulled into my driveway! Been raining off and on since, nothing heavy yet tho. Supposed to keep raining thru Friday, clear up on Saturday and then start raining again on Sunday. I guess you have to be careful what you ask for! We ask for rain and Mother Nature says "you want rain? Hold my beer...." !

Was totally dead at work tonight with the rain. Only did 3 haircuts in 5 hours. We are having a haircut sale starting on Friday so that will pick things up for the next week for us.

Today (Wednesday) is my Mom's birthday. She would have been 93. She has been gone almost 10 years now. :(

Just went thru my camera to clear out all the crappy photos I took. Will post some of the good ones in the morning.

Good night!

Sheila, since all my leftover Indian food was curry and rice, last night I mixed it all together with some chicken broth and made soup. lol I don't recognize most of the seasoning they use.
