Snowy, Blustery Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Snowy, Blustery Friday

Good Morning. Another Winter Storm, another snow day for schools. It’s been almost a constant thing since the Polar Vortext hit last month. Storms coming one after another. This one packed Ice and snow with it, causing power outages in a lot of areas especially the SW part of lower MI. With all the storms wreaking havoc, there has been very little if any school going on and districts are facing having to make up days as their snow days are used up. Some have only had 1 day of school in the past 18 days. Looks like it’s going to be a short summer off this year.

But when you are retired,no having to worry about weather other than being prepared. I can just stayinside ad look out. Good time to do inside things. Today is kitchen painting day. Have been thinking of doing it for awhile, but after seeing a color online that looks terrific it’s oak cabinets, I went for it. First have that mundane task of taping everything off and doing cabinets isn’t easy.

Can’t believe it’s almost mid February already. Winters flying by. Made another set of camping reservations yesterday and will be doing so again on Sunday. Friend and I are putting together a 2 and a half week camping and sightseeing venture in the U.P. Never tire of exploring up there.

Looks like gals at Hardee Lakes are having a good time and lots of good eats. Q is kinda quiet now that everybody’s gone home. Few people out exploring here and there. Everybody biding time till spring. O’Sharon, you surviving the storms?

So that’s all from the wintery north. Day is breaking. Will be time to get busy before long. Fur kids are snoozing, They were in and out of the house zumpteen times yesterday in the rain/freezing rain. I think they did it cause they were enjoying getting toweled off when they came in   House is warm so all’s well. Have a nice day all.

So that

Good morning! Sue, looks like we’re going to get hit with the storm Monday into Tuesday. But today temps are dropping and it’s very windy. Not looking like a very nice few days. And that on the heels of the springlike weather we just had. Ah, winter in Pa! Sounds like plans being made for the upcoming travel season. No plans here. Just have to play it by ear to see how it shakes out for me. No big trips planned. Probably will stay in Pa most of the summer. Friends have their new TT and we may camp together a few times. Time will tell. They’re more into campgrounds with full hook ups and I’m starting to want to get more adventurous and want to try more dry camping or just having electric service. I always worry about the dog and the heat.

I’m enjoying hearing about everyone’s adventures and travels. Admit to feeling a bit envious! But then I look out the window and tell myself not yet! Beth, great that you are relaxing a bit more this winter. Hard to believe Q has come and gone. Tina, take your time coming back to all this weather! Don’t rush it, maybe you can bring the good stuff our way!

Not much else happening here. Gotta get off to the shower and get ready to head over the mountain to a doctor appointment a bit later. May do some running around afterwards. Hope everyone has a great day and week end. Travel safe.

Good morning. When I was up at 5am took the dog out and it was clear and cold. Just went back out and the clouds have rolled in so guess the storm is coming as predicted. Supposed to be a big snow event ..........again.

Taking Emma to the groomers today and will make a run to the store while she is getting beautiful. Going to make a soup recipe I think sounds good. Creamy Reuben Soup. My friend made it and said it is delish. Then will pop some homemade bread in the toaster....yup that will be my dinner.

I bought a pretty sturdy garden seat so that I can weed my yard much more easily. Just cant do the up and down anymore. Well I had to assemble it...good grief I needed a Chinese Philadelphia Lawyer to decipher for me. Finally got it put together, the tires aired up so I am good to go now, when it warms up outside. I am already planning for spring ha ha...wishful thinking. I love Fall and Spring. Summer and cold winters not so much.

Our snow is done until Sat. night, thank goodness, tired of shoveling. It is just cold now, I know the schools were cancelled for the day because of the very cold weather. Yesterday, my grandkids school were sent home at 1:30 because of all the snow. Road conditions yesterday were terrible.
But today it is beautiful out, as long as you are inside, sunny and clear.

Sue, I painted my cabinets and kitchen walls a few years ago. Easiest if you have some place to put the cabinet doors and paint them one side at a time. I primed the doors and cabinets, then painted them. I spray painted the hinges and bought new handles. The cabinets have held up really well, no chipped off paint or scratches, which I was worried about. Good luck

Hi Rosemary. It’s the kitchen walls I am doing. I have stained oak wood cabinets so they will never need painting. I have most of the kitchen done now. Quit for the day. Will finish rest maybe tomorrow. It is also going to be a snow blowing day. We are still under storm Warning till 7 p.m. Lake effect snow and winds are causing issues.

Nothing unusual happening here--cold and rainy as usual. Got outside faucet dripping and making a huge puddle because of the freezing expected every night this week. Campground people say not to worry about puddles--better than frozen pipes.

I've been busy finishing up my reservation-making for spring and summer. Already having some problems finding places to stay in the summer!! At least the prime places are filling up fast. I will be almost entirely in Washington and Oregon and am trying to find some new places to explore. Might even make it all the way to the Canadian border! Will leave for Ohio at end of September.
