And It's Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

And It's Tuesday

Postby Bethers » Tue Jan 29, 2019 11:18 am

I'm getting ready to head over to Fountain Hills and McDowell Mountain Park for two nights. It's one park I splurge and stay at most years. Unfortunately, I'm feeling like I've caught a cold but it will still be a beautiful place to sit out in the sun and try to bake it out lol. I only hope that works! I'll even put sunscreen on as Sunday before leaving Q I managed to let my nose and face burn. I know better.

Time to get Ty walked and on the road. Stops for gas and some supplies then do nothing the rest of the day. And more of the same tomorrow.

Chilly morning here 28° when I got up but sun is out and now 34° Had my coffee load and breakfast. Have also done some spiffing of the house (vacuumed the lifing room and did the dishes. Need a shower and then heading to Home Depot to pick up a few supplies and a stop at the grocery store. I need to finish the deep cleaning of the bathroom, then will steam mop all the tile floors. I am getting there, only have the morning kitchen area, spare bedroom and guest bathroom and I will be DONE. Then will only have to spiff the house up daily.

I am so glad everyone had a good time at Quartzsite, looked like a great turnout. Have fun on your outings Beth, and doing nothing is always good. I do my work in the morning then can just veg in the afternoon. Today looks like a good day to take Emma for a long walk. She does love her new fenced in back yard but still likes her walks.

I found Mr P(the New Orleans cat) on the porch this morning with blood on his neck. It looks like he was the loser in a fight. I don't know why these idiots can't get along. The vet wasn't in but they told me I could drop him off so I have been to town and back already.

I have an appointment to bring the truck to the shop tomorrow so yesterday while it was still warm I washed it. It was green with mildew. It wasn't a great wash job but better than nothing. My neighbor is going to pick me up. It feels like I am always looking for a ride home.

The cold front with rain hit about 2:00 this morning. It was blowing things on the porch and the noise woke me up. It's only 44 today. It seemed like the weather people were all excited about snow and all we got was rain. The 28 they were predicting for tonight is now up to 31.

My hair is out of control so thank goodness I got an appointment to get it cut this afternoon.

I am off to the beach shortly. Didn't feel good yesterday so I stayed home all day. One more nice day and then the rain moves in for about 5 days.

In MN, they have closed all public schools statewide yesterday, today, and tomorrow due to the extreme cold and windchills. -30 below at night with -60 below windchills. Very dangerous stuff! I am counting my blessings that I can be at the beach today in 70 degree weather!

My roommate, Denise, has her hands full with her daughter's situation. She got her DD and 7 kids out of their house the other night while her violent drug-addicted husband was at work and took them all to Denise's son's house just a little ways from here. So his house now has 3 adults and 9 kids! They are trying to find a shelter for her to go to with all the kids but most are full right now. Her daughter has a 13 year old son, a 5 year old, twin 4 year olds, twin 3 year olds, and a 2 year old!!! And she has borderline personality disorder on top of that! I am sure Denise appreciates having a nice quiet peaceful place here to come home to!

Have a good day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Nice day here. Rain by Friday they say. Goody - that will test the DICOR my friend and I did last week for two areas on van roof. Keeping fingers crossed we got whatever was leaking sealed!
We get coyotes in our area once in a while ESP on creeks. Probably drawn to the abundent turkey population. Have heard of coyotes grabbing a small child once in a while, but not here.
Karen, curious what steam mop you like. Mel bought two different brands a few years ago but returned each because they dripped and leaked and didn't really put out steam. I'd like to find a good one since Stormy drags her raw chicken all over the house !
Spent over an hour today already with my Anthem rep and the RX company trying to get RX company to fix an issue with the coverage between october 1 and December 31 last year. Medicare plans to fine me each month.because the RX company can't seem to send Medicare proof that I indeed had coverage. Anthem and I have been trying to fix this since October! I told my Anthem rep that I'm starting to get anxiety and upset stomach every time I get another letter from the RX company.
More paperwork to do. Seems never ending!
Made a really tasty Chili cheese chicken last night I found on Pinterest. Simple ingredients of chicken, cream cheese, jack cheese, canned mild chilis, cumin , garlic, salt and pepper. Took maybe five minutes to cut chicken and blend sauce and pour over chicken then sprinkle cheese. Baked about 35 minutes. Even Chris ate seconds. Can't post exact recipe as it was someone else's but you can search Pinterest if my vague directions aren't enough !
Guess I better pull myself together to take the rest of my day.
Have a good one everyone.

Velda I have a Bissel steam mop. I like it, no leaking and has 3 levels of steam. If you need some heavy duty steam you just hold it in one place for several seconds. Also has a scrubber brush for the hard stuff to get up. I usually can clean my floors pretty easy. Easy to load the water and then just GO. LOL

I swiffer in between but then there are just times when I need to disinfect, or I think I do anyway.

here is a link to the one I bought about a year ago.

Part of doing nothing this afternoon was supposed to include visiting with Alice (Ava). But I called her when I arrived here and cancelled. This morning she told me she wasn't worried about catching it, but after the drive I was simply exhausted. I scrounged around and found some cold meds and bought emergen-c to try for the first time. I'll start it tomorrow... The vitamins can't hurt.

Meantime I'm happily seeing and hearing birds of many types. I just hope I can sleep last night. I think the lack of sleep was what did me in the most.

Ok, enough whining here. I love this cg and nothing will take that away.

Not Morning, but I am home! Q was so much fun this year. We had a nice turnout. Discovered we have 5 January birthdays, and, they were all at Q!!!!! Sheilas Navahoe tacos were great as usual. Lots of good food at the potluck. I had two free pancake breakfasts!!! Beth and I went again and met two friends of hers who were very interesting to talk too.
Now back to the real world.....Lyn

I was up very late last night finishing a set of papers I needed to grade and return. Finally got to sleep at 3:30 but was awakened at 7 am with a phone call from my dept chair at the college because the exam I sent for about 25 students had not arrived at the testing center. I had sent it on Friday to the director of the center, but she apparently was not there, so I sent it to a more generic email. Anyway, by the time I got up and got that dealt with, I was only able to nap for an hour before I had to go in for my weekly blood tests. (Had two more phone calls just before i left. I do not do well talking on phone after little sleep.) I posted an update in the private members section, but things are going very well, finally!

And I am getting all kinds of emails from students because the college was closed yesterday and will be closed tomorrow, so students are trying to reschedule taking the proctored exam. Apparently, most of the schools and colleges were closed Monday and some were closed today, with some to be closed tomorrow! Glad I am not there, but I extended the due date to next Tuesday instead of Monday. It has meant a lot of emails and sending out exams to the right places.

I am really getting bored with my own cooking so since I have a rental car for a few days, I stopped and got a Panera salad today. Tasted good for a change. I have to go in for another blood test tomorrow and might stop at Appleby's or Olive Garden for variety! Rental cars dropped in cost to about $20 per day after the holidays, so that makes them cost-effective for this week when I have three doctor appointments. Better than taking my rig in and cheaper than Uber. Starting next week, I will have only one appointment per week and then after March 1, will have only one appointment per month.
