Torrential Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Torrential Saturday

Postby BarbaraRose » Sat Jan 12, 2019 7:05 am

Good morning in the wee hours!

Was just woken up by a thunderstorm with torrential rains. It has been downpouring for about 20 minutes or so now. I looked out front and there is a 5 foot wide "river" of water flowing in front of my driveway heading to the creek. I have never seen that much water out front before. It comes from the upper parts of the park. The creek will be raging soon. That always makes me nervous! More rain is forecast for the next several days and thru the middle of next week.

Back to bed now for a couple more hours and then off to work at 9am.

Have a good day! :D

Good morning! I will be heading out soon. It was reassuring to read that Quartzsite was warmer than we were this morning. And I am watching the storm reports for the Midwest with interest and delight not to be in the middle of it. I know that I would find the view beautiful but then the cold and locked in feeling would set in. At least here, as in Florida, I know that I can bundle up and take that morning dog walk and be greeted by more sun and warmth as the day unfolds.

Find the treasures in whatever possibilities the day brings you!

Good morning,
I know morning is about over but felt the need to share anyway. Trying to line up a tow truck to transport my fifthwheel in its new parking spot but so far no go until Monday. In the meantime, trying to do what I can which isn't much cause my new doctor that I really like changed my medication and the dizziness is even worse . Not getting much of anything done but the weather is nice, I barely need a sweatshirt. At this rate I'm not feeling very hopeful of getting a trip in to Q for the get together. Still struggeling with the blood pressure and all the questions in my mind over all this. I'm so disappointed.
I have some chores on my list for today but that's not going to happen either if this dizziness doesn't go away.
For now I can only wish you a good day and be safe.

Afternoon all.

Been a bizarre couple of weeks here, thought I was having asthma problems but turned out to be pneumonia in both lungs. The meds they had me on managed to put me in a-fib so I ended up in the ER and then the hospital. After being ekg’d four times, blood tested seven times, sonogramed, echocardiographed, and having ridiculous amounts of drugs shoved into my arm and down my throat, I’m home. Here’s hoping the healing will now commence.

It’s a good day to be happily stuck indoors, we’re at 7” of snow so far and it’s still coming down.

Ouch! Queen, I'll bet you are as tired of being poked as I was when I had my lithotripsy, blood tests, and treatment in December. It took a long time for the bruises to heal. Glad you are home now, at least.

And, Alice, do you have a home blood pressure monitor? Just to make sure they have not over-medicated you?

It is actually and unusually sunny here in mid-Oregon. Cold and expecting a freeze tonight, but i have filled tanks and dumped both of my sewage tanks yesterday. I also set outside tap to drip. I might add a little more water tomorrow and pull the handles so my tanks are empty before the rain returns.

Been incredibly lazy, but I am going to try to get some energy today and get some stuff ready in my class for this winter. Got a lot of appointments this week at various doctors, and rented a car for three days to make it easier.

Mickie and Ava, sorry you are having health problems.

I was afraid I was going to have an abscess with my tooth so started taking some amoxicillin that I have. It doesn't hurt near as much but can still feel it if I bite down.

I couldn't get the mower started yesterday and it rained last night and this morning so now the yard is too wet again. The rain in California will probably be here in a few days. I made the mistake of putting a sweater on this morning. That had to go because it is back in the 70's.

One of my darling cats discovered the fun of a box of Kleenex. I woke up to a living room full of Kleenex. I don't know which one did it but I have an idea.

   Thanks for the laugh Martha. I can just picture the look on your face when you walked into the living room and also picture the cat having the time of it’s life while you were sleeping. The things our four legged “children” get into

Alice, sometimes it takes a while to get used to the BP medication. Your BP was very high and now with meds it should be much lower which can make you feel crappy because your body is not used to it being lower. Our bodies adapt but it takes time. This happens to diabetics all the time. High blood sugar then take insulin to lower it and it does but they feel crappy, shaky and think they are having a reaction when in reality they are not, just takes time for the old bod to adapt. Hope you feel better soon.

I did the same thing with the blood pressure monitor a few years ago. Thought I was having horribly high blood pressure, so went to doctor along with monitor, but unlike you, I found it was the monitor, not me! At least I did not need more meds, but I did buy a new monitor.

Since I lost weight earlier this year, my blood pressure is lower, sometimes a bit too low. I am hoping to get with my internist one of these days to see if I can cut down on my blood pressure medication now. And periodically, I will take my monitor into the doctor's office with me to compare it to theirs.

so hoping that you get the blood pressure under control...must be aggravating to be sure...and if you don't make it you will be missed but getting healthy is more important.. although if you weren't so dizzy coming and relaxing would be good...just saying
Tina will see you soon as with all others
does anyone know if Linda is coming?
right now my water barrel leaks and the pump won't come on ...that may be operator error..
so been hauling gals of water.. this morning looked at the thing telling what the levels of water and tank are... and water was down to 2/3 full so decided I needed to put water in 20 gals later it is full will need to go fill jugs again Alice has 2 and 1/2 should be ok till Monday and will then fill all up went to the farmer's market was so lame could be because we were late... and the bread man had moved so hunted him down.. and went and had a shower then to grocery store then picked up some wood so we can when wanted have a fire or I can burn paper and have wood to keep it burning till all gone.
home and did dishes then vegged out now tv is on and here I am... the bread thing is gone so should have cut it in half... was yummy

I had a cat once who was obsessed with tampons! She would take one out of the box by her teeth and chew the paper and cardboard tube off and then bat it around the floor. One morning I got up to find a whole box of them all over the living room floor all chewed up! Crazy cat!
