Slow start to the day

Well.

I don't think I have ever started Morning Coffee, all the years that I have been on here.

Hope everyone out there is staying safe and warm.

Sue, put another log on that fire! :-)

Just got up, coffee on stove - toast in the toaster. I like my toast dark, with a lot of butter. Help yourselves.

Rain in the forecast, but we won't know for sure if it is coming or not, until it begins to fall out of the sky.

Have a good week, and safe travels, everyone.

Anne

Slow start here also. Every morning it's sunny, I open my curtain... And notice my streaked window. Maybe today will be the day to TRY to rectify that. Maybe. TRY is capitalized because I might make it worse lol

Anne, I would probably eat cardboard if you put butter on it. lol My husband use to make comments about how much butter was in the refrigerator.

We finally have sun. It has cooled off to 52 but not too bad. I was out without a jacket.

I talked to Tina this morning and she should be here later.

My best friend and her husband were in town last night and I went to eat crawfish with them. My sister's granddaughter had a doctor's appointment in Lafayette yesterday. They came to spend the night and the granddaughter's boy friend. My cats look at me like what is going on. I think we only saw Annie one time. My sister brought a bunch of family pictures and we went through them last night. I need to separate them see if anyone wants some. I don't know why she thinks I should be the keeper of the flame.

It has been raining buckets here all morning and not supposed to slow down until evening. But the weather mam/man promises sunshine and warm (50's) temps for several days starting tomorrow! Besides the grey and gloomy weather, the plumber came this morning and gave us an estimate of $2500.00 to replace the water line from the house to the meter. Water consumption has been steadily increasing and last months bill was a whopper! things have to get drastic for DH to admit there is a problem and it isn't my imagination....he should know better by now.
Emma is off to another dog show this weekend. I kept hoping DH would want to stop after she got her CD but no, he is totally taken in by the process. The trainer is so excited about how well she works she said she could probably have her Utility title in 2 years!!!! Two more years   It has all changed so much from the 70's when my former DH and I showed dogs in obedience I can't keep up nor do I have any desire to. Oh well, I don't do much except try to keep her schedule and how much $$$ she needs. Guess there are more expensive hobbies DH could be evolved with.
I haven't done much this morning so need to get exercises going. Have a good day and all those in the cold cold west try and keep warm!!

OMG. Me too. ROFLOL!! I also always need to have butter on hand - I keep extras wrapped in plastic, sitting in the freezer. I don't like to find I am out of butter when the toast (LOL - or the cardboard) pops up!!

Martha, I love your sense of humor.

Although here in California we wish for rain, and many of us pray for rain - I think that the amount of rain you get where you are would drive me crazy. I often wonder how you bear it! You must have to wear waders full-time!!

Thanks for a post that brought a big smile to my face.

Chilly but sunny morning. However, the news people are saying big storm coming in. Mt Shasta city and Weed could get 8-12" now that will definitely impact travel on I-5 along with the Siskiyou pass. I do like to look at the road cameras tho. We might get some flurries but nothing really expected so they say. The winds will be the big story down here up to 40-50mph gusts. We shall see.

Beth I found the absolute BEST window cleaner ever. I have tried all the usual cleaner and vinegar methods and still always have streaks. It is called Hope's Perfect Glass window cleaner. I cant find it at Walmart so I got it at Home Depot and now I need to go get some more as I just cleaned 8 windows inside and out.....sparkling clean. I use it in my car and for the windows in my Motorhome. Especially the big front window that Emma gets nose prints all over. It comes in a black container so easy to spot on the shelf. Doesnt smell either which is very important to me and my allergies.

I am heading out to do a bit of shopping this morning so better get going now that I have my coffee load on.

I think I mentioned that I had a flat tire just sitting in this RV park. I noticed it Christmas morning, but had heard a strange noise the night before, which I figured was the tire going flat. I had just had the pressure checked a day or so before. Had CoachNet come and put the spare on and the flat tire on the spare tire carrier.

So, I have had a rental car for the past week, but finally turned it in this morning, and unhooked the RV to go out and get a propane refill and the tire to be repaired. This involved a lot of hookup and draining my tanks, etc, plus taking my bike off the rack and locking it to a table, etc Anyway, the tire was checked and there was nothing wrong with it. It was even still seated on the rim. It was just out of air. So they filled it and put it on the rack again. Left the spare, which was a brand-new tire, on the front. Lady at desk suggested that maybe someone was pulling a prank and had let the air out. (Good reason to always do that walk-around before going somewhere.)

This is really concerning. This is really one of the nicest commercial RV parks I have ever stayed at and not cheap. They do an excellent job with landscaping and keeping it up. Why would someone do this to me? I have hardly even had any conversations with anyone. I am going to leave my side light on all night from now on, and I did notify the owner's son who is the main desk person.

In six years of traveling, I have never had anyone bother me or had anything stolen or destroyed, even when I left stuff on my site to go out shopping or sightseeing, so this is strange.

Very strange, Judy. Possibly a kid thinking it would be funny. But not funny!

Problem is absolutely no kids, other than one three-year-old I saw one day with her mother, and no teenagers either.

I am also calling CoachNet tomorrow. The guy who arrived to change my tire on the day after Christmas had one of those gigantic tow trucks capable of towing a big semi truck, but did not have a gauge to check my tire pressure. He estimated tire pressure by visually comparing the bulge in the tire with the others on my vehicle--not a very reliable method!

In addition, the company that checked my tire out today showed me how the screw threads on the bolt that fastens my spare tire to the plate on the rear of my vehicle were stripped. They ended up having to cut the stripped part off to get the second nut off. (There were two nuts on this bolt, but now I can put only one on. I will need to put a padlock on the plate as a double-check to make sure the tire stays on.)
