Morning from sunny northern Michigan. At least till later this afternoon when bit of light snow might sneak in from Winter Storm Avery which is making life miserable to our south. Hope you gals down yonder have your snow shovel handy. O’Sharon, looks like you might have to put your snowblower to work. Talk abut Fire and Ice. Quite a contrast across the country.

As for me, been busy with doctors appts. That time of the year. One more and I’m done. But today, going to enjoy the sun for awhile and rework a couple storm windows I made. Need some tweaking. Then there will be a nice dog walk later on.

Time to get moving, need to run to eithe Lowe’s or Hardware store, so gotta get my act together. Have a nice day all. Linann, great to see your post. Sorry about the injuries etc., but congrats on the new rig. Hope you post more often. I think about those who haven’t posted in some time, GypsyRose, Mickie come to mind among others.

Good morning! You are so right, Sue. Snowblower is all ready to go. I finally pulled it out of the back of the garage and fired it up and let it run a couple of minutes so think it’s good to go. Nothing is happening here yet but after looking at the map looks like the storm is gettting closer. Saw this morning that schools are closed all over the county and beyond. TWC has a reporter in State College so that’ll be interesting! I managed to move a couple of things yesterday in the garage so now the car is safely parked in there! Think we went from summer to winter. I noticed when I was raking the other day there were still lots of green leaves mixed in with the yellow. The wind gusts we had the other day dropped all the leaves from the trees. Good since this storm is supposed to have freezing rain too and that’s not a good thing when the trees are full of leaves. I went to the store for wet food for Rascal yaterday and picked up the turkey for next week. Got a 22 pounder for $5.56! I used my store reward points so gotta love a deal! The best part is that I’m taking it to DS and he’s cooking it! Works for me! Picked up some stew meat so going to throw that in the crockpot and that’ll be dinner and leftovers for the next day or two! Tina, exciting how well the pups are showing! Anne, I can’t imagine the stress you must be dealing with right now. Take care of yourself. Enjoying Bill and Carol’s adventures in Mexico. Poor Lola is going to get snow all over her! I’m still waiting for a couple of sunny days so she’ll be dry so we can get her covered. So far hasn’t happened! First it’s been rain and now snow! Well, enough rambling for me this morning. Need to start cooking! Have a good day and do something that makes you happy!

Morning All, No sunshine here. It’s 35, gloomy, freezing rain and snow. Number one daughter has taken over cooking for holiday dinners. My contribution is a baked ham and they are on sale but not as great as OSharons. Delivered half a cake to friend and will slice my half and freeze. Going back in the office today, shred more papers, play old cds and shed a tear or two. Funny how music triggers memories. Safe travels or relax and eat a piece of cake. :D

Good Morning, We had snow last night, way too early. The news made it sound like it was going to be a major event. All the stores were full of people yesterday hurrying to buy up enough food for weeks, all schools events and churches etc were cancelled last night. We got maybe 3". The snow plow has been by twice although the street is clear, when we do get a lot of snow it seldom arrives for three or four days. Oh well, glad it was a light event for us and I hope that it all melts away soon!
Emma seems to like the snow although she was very unsure of it when she first went out. It was funny watching her, she stood in one place for a long time the finally started racing around. I should be brushing her out and doing something besides sitting in front of the computer but so far no sign of actually moving from my chair!

Good morning, good chilly morning 28° brrrrrr. But sun is out and should warm up to the high 50's this afternoon.

Got my internet fixed yesterday, all is well. Had to reconfigure my printer but otherwise all systems are working today.

Need to go out and trim a couple of bushes when it warms up. Put the last of the summer stuff away until next year. Still have some leaves to deal with but other than that I am pretty much done outside.

Emma got groomed yesterday and she smells soooooo good now. Needed a nail trim and if I wasnt such a coward I would do it myself LOL She would let me but I just worry so much about cutting too close. I have the clippers and a dremel but so far it goes unused LOL

Skies are somewhat smoky today but nothing like the summer and they are supposed to blow out with the wind change coming. 30% chance of rain for Wed. I will believe it when I feel it coming down.

Mornin' ladies~~~
Just popping in to say hi. It's been below average temps here south of Truth or Consequences, NM, but trump's are expected to get back to seasonal average for in few days. Monday will be move I bit more west day, but will still be in a New Mexico.

That's it. Nothing really exciting going on. Have a good day & stay safe wherever you are, especially those up north expecting snow.

Heading out to get my repaired generator installed and pick up some groceries. One of my electric heaters is making noises so going to get a new one that is better quality.

Also going to look for my favorite part of the turkey, the thighs, and freeze several. Only time of year now and around Christmas you can get fresh turkey parts. Thighs fit nicely in my small oven.

Everything else is going fine.

Chilly again here this morning but will warm up quickly with the sun. Probably warmer outside than it is inside.
I got a new thermostat and had it installed last month. It is a little confusing on how to set it and it is obviously not set right since it doesn't come on when I want it to (at night!). So I need to look at the instructions and go step by step to get it set up correctly.

There were several brush fires in San Diego County yesterday, two were fairly close to where I am. Luckily, all were put out quickly.

Sharon, that is a heck of a deal on that turkey! I bought a precooked, half of a turkey breast to heat up for Thanksgiving. I moved into my house last year on Thanksgiving so will be celebrating my one year anniversary of owning my home!

Hope you all have a great day! :D

Ok, it's afternoon. I got my eye exam this morning.. 2nd time my prescription has gone down a little. Not complaining there. I was even going to consider getting glasses there. Picked the cheapest frames and it was still gong to total over $200. Probably closer to $250 with the exam. So I asked if they could give me my pd number and they refused. Ha, I know it just wanted to make sure it hasn't changed. They wouldn't spend 30 seconds taking a measurement unless I purchased from them. Obviously they don't care about customer service. And I was paying for the exam. So I drove a few blocks where I saw a private ophthalmologists office and stopped and asked if I could get my pd number checked. Sure thing, no cost. Out the door in about a minute. Then I went online to Zenni, picked frames and what I wanted, found a discount code only to bring their price down further do paid extra for faster shipping and saved a ton. Love that place.

Just went to Taco Bell for lunch. Months since I've done that. Winds are down, sun is bright and it's beautiful. I thought about driving back to Benson today but I have a few more errands that I think I'll wait for tomorrow morning and head out then. That means back to the casino lot for tonight.

Beth, I have gone to Walmart to get my pd number before with no problem, but my roommate went there this week to get hers (I told her about Zenni) and they wouldn't do it. I wonder if these places are no longer willing to do that knowing that more people are going on line to get their glasses and just want to get the pd number from them but not the glasses?

Off to work...

Hi Sue, O'Sharon, Shirl and others that love the winters. Steve, Brenda & I left Ocala this morning because we have reservations in southern Miami for 2 weeks to tour the Keys. The timing was perfect, as it will get to 39 tonight and tomorrow night in Ocala. So glad we left. We will go by car to visit the Keys and places in between for the next 14 days. Then it's back to Ocala for the rest of the winter. Have a good night.

Have fun, Irmi!

Barbie, this place lost any further business from me... They could have asked a small fee but I already was paying for my exam. It's kind of like tire places... I remember a few years ago hearing someone say one wanted to charge to check their air when they were there for other service. I've stopped at many tire shops and never been charged for checking... Even if I wasn't purchasing. One went above and beyond and replaced the tire extenders with better ones on my last rig. I guarantee I would give them my business if in that area. I wouldn't have been as upset if I wasn't a paying customer. But then I went down the street and it was complimentary when I wasn't a paying customer.

WOW Beth that is unreal. I got my exam done and was given my prescription and it included the PD. I didnt buy my glasses there because they are so much cheaper at Zinni. The funny thing was they wanted to bill my Medicare and I told them I didnt have vision but they wanted to do it anyway so I went with it. Got a check from Medicare for $84 who knew.?
