Good Morning all. Doing a quick rereading of yesterday’s MC thread and laughing my head off at the cake mix tales and now some of you being prompted to make one. Hopefully a good nights sleep put some sense into your heads before you haul out the baking pans   I mean, think holidays are coming, Thanksgiving is next week, goodie time, do I really need that cake tc.  But on the serious side, for those who use Duncan Hines, there was a recall issued on their cake mix last week. I bought some pie fixing packages (Banna Cream Pie, Chocolate Cream Pie, Ed’s Tropical fruit which I made a pie of) from a vendor here in MI who travels the craft show circuit earlier this summer. The base ingredients for all the different tings you can make are spooned in fresh daily. You buy a packet and go from there. The two main ingredients are cream cheese and cool whip in the case of my pies in a graham cracker crust. The chocolate cream one can also be a dip for strawberries, apples etc. There are other varieties of dips and I don’t even remember what all else or what is added to them to make the stuff, but she has quite a following and her booth is always busy. And Judy, she has the fixings for no bake cheesecake. So now I have probably set off the sweet tooth’s again  She does have a website, http://www.pamspantry.net. Check it out to see what I mean, you can order online and there’s even a recipe section. I believe shecoperates a store as well. Take my word for it. Delicious.....

Okay, enough talking about yummies since we all have activated our sweet tooth’s. Snowing here this morning. We might get 3-6 inches. I don’t care, except I do have to go out about midday. Wellness Checkup today. Get that over and done for another year. My new snowblower arrived yesterday, so I’m all set. Am going to have a lazy morning as don’t want to get into anything with having to get cleaned up and leave around noon. Got a little bookwork to do.

So, am going to wish you all a nice day and get on with mine :)

Lark and Audrey almost forgot to remind me to take them to their class last night for graduation. I had forgotten to set my alarm and they were of no help. Josef was happy being the center of attention while being groomed when it dawned on me that I was suppose to be somewhere else. Poor JoJo, he got dumped back into the office/dog room and Lark and Audrey and I scrambled out to the car and made it to the fairgrounds and the building about 25 minutes late. The evaluations were still going on so after settling ourselves a little we proceeded. Audrey and Lark both passed their AKC Canine Good Citizen test. It was fun and the chief evaluator laughed at Lark. She had been Lark's Rally judge on Saturday. We have been attending our Kennel Clubs beginning Obedience class with mostly members of the general public so The judge/evaluator, Katie had spend the first 1/2 hour evaluating dogs that had limited exposure to formal obedience an/or social training outside the home. She recognized that maybe even if Lark and Audrey were not polished performers that this wasn't their first rodeo. We had fun!

Now on to preparing for the up coming shows. Our regional English Cocker Club has their Specialty on Saturday and supports the entries on the other three days. Josef and I are planning to stay with his breeder, Cindy, just out side Columbus and Lark and Audrey will be left behind under the care of the "man in the recliner". I can depend on Audrey to be sure that no meals will be missed.

Good Morning, We have a little snow this morning and a cold week ahead in the forecast. Does not make me happy, it is way too early for this!!
Martha's quest for a cheesecake recipe made me think of one I have. It can be made either chocolate or plain. I haven't made it is a long time but remember it being really good. On my Mac computer I can right click on the photo and copy or save it.

Yikes! You gals are all making me hungry!

Extremely windy here today. Not good for the high fire danger or the fires up north. They have turned off power to the communities in the back country of San Diego because of the high winds, just to be on the safe side.

Am heading out soon here to Long Beach to check out a trailer. Will probably be smokey up there. Am wondering how Catherine is doing since she is further north than that and they have air quality warnings in that area.

Hope you all have a good day no matter what you are dealing with!

Thanks Sue, I don't need more suggestions for delicious food.

BJ, thank you for the recipe. The recipe I can't find was from my boss at the fish plant and she passed away a few years ago. It's more of a sentimental thing than me needing a cheesecake.

Tina, I'm so forgetful too. I always feel like there is something I should be doing or going to but can't remember what. I have to tape a reminder on the cabinet by my computer to remember anything. Yesterday I went to pick up Sweetie Pie and forgot to ask the vet about some medicine. Had to go back to town. This afternoon I have to go get my car serviced and at the rate I'm moving I need to get a move on. I'm making chili to bring to the campout this weekend. I'm sure we will be burning wieners over the campfire.

I have a camera that I can view the house if I can get it to work. I want to see what the cats are up to when I'm gone. I probably won't be able to get it to work because it hasn't been updated in a long time.

Sue, too late, I am baking the cake. Aunt Polly use to bring her signature cake every visit so I told my kids it’s Aunt Polly Cake. My devious plan is bake the devils food with Carmel icing, cut it in half and share it with my childhood friend. I shared it with her when we were kids and she loves it too. My house is a disaster. I took 3 large bags of shredded paper to the dump this morning. Tiny little pieces of paper everywhere. A lot more to shred but it is a start. Tina, you are one busy woman. It’s like raising children and taking them to extra curricular activities. :) Safe travels

It's 6... Evening is upon us. I spent today at the Desert Museum in Tucson with a friend going back to childhood, her husband and her sister. Friend and husband flew into Tucson from Oregon, sister from Illinois. None had ever been. They attempted to do the morning raptor show, but only one bird, the great horned owl, made it out. Too windy. We managed to have a good time in spite of the cold wind. Boondocking tonight (stayed at Gilbert Ray CG last night). Eye appt tomorrow and other errands.

I picked up one of the small cheesecake mixes when I went to town. Instead of baking it in the pan I baked 18 mini cheesecakes in mini cupcake pans. That way they are about 100 calories each. The one I ate was good. I might make some for this weekend.

The high was about 40 today and it was cold. I made Frosty and CC come in early because I didn't want to be looking for them until midnight. CC will probably make us all sorry.

Drove up to Seal Beach to look at an Aliner for sale. The owner lives in Leisure World, a ginormous retirement community and they have a gated entrance with tight security. I told him I would call when I got there around 10:30. So when I arrived I called him and got his voicemail. I left a message and also sent him a text. He hadn't given the security guys my name so I had to wait outside the gate. I called two more times over the next hour and no response. I had the gate keepers call him on two other numbers they had for him and one was out of service and the other one was busy. I finally gave up and left.

Spent the rest of the day driving down the coast and stopping at beach towns along the way. Went to Balboa Island which I remembered going to with my dad a long time ago. Still a cute little shopping area there but the houses are bigger and a lot more expensive! Most start at $2M up to around $5M and these are not large homes and they are practically on top of each other with no yards at all. There is a couple of large marinas with huge boats crammed in all over. A lot of people have a lot of money around there! From there I drove down to Laguna Beach and stopped to eat and shop. Also stayed to watch the sunset which was very pretty! Took lots of photos so will post some later.

Just got my Ancestry DNA kit today. Will get that sent back soon. Can't wait to get the results of that!

Hope you all had a good day!

Barbie, sent in my Ancestry dna a year ago and it is so much fun. Questions answered and some surprises. I get new matches every day. I received a notice of a distant cousin that looked just like me in my senior prom gown. Daughter heard me playing a Andre Boucceli sp? cd, said I didn’t know you liked that kind of music. I said it’s my Italian genes. :D
