Wacky Wednesday

Good Morning All, We had torrential rain the last couple of days and I have had a hose running water for 24 hours. Only 12 more hours and maybe I will have clean water in the house. Looked at a couple of four room apartments yesterday and think it is time to move out of this seven room house and all the responsibilities. Lived here 50 years and the thought of moving has my mind racing from one thing to another. The thought of not carrying laundry up and down two flight of steps really helps. I plan to sit in the recliner all day and make lists and think. Safe travels

Good morning gals!

Will be heading out soon to finally get the wiring done on my Jeep for a trailer. I called last night to confirm my appointment for today.

Shirl, sounds like a good time to downsize. It is a lot of work but will be a big relief once it is done. Good luck!

California elected a new democrat for Governor and passed the daylight savings proposition to eliminate that next year. Pretty much all the propositions I voted for were passed. There were many very tight races all over the country but the voter turn out was high which is always good. Lots at stake in this election.

Had a funny thing happen at work yesterday. Shortly after I got there, a teenage boy and his friend came in. The boy (about 16 or 17) handed me a cupcake (from the Cupcake Shop next door) and said he saw me thru the window as they were walking by so he decided to buy me a cupcake because he thought I was cute. He asked me if I was on Snapchat. I told him no but thanked him for the cupcake. Then about an hour later, he came back in and wanted to know if I still had the cupcake and if so, could he have it back! I said I still have it but asked if he didn't think I was cute anymore (just joking around with him!). He said I was still cute but his mom wanted him to bring her a cupcake but he didn't have enough money to buy her one. I gave it back to him. He said he would get me another one next week. Ha! I am not holding my breath, but if he does, I will be eating it right away! Kids! I think it was all just a game for him and his friends tho. My coworkers and I had a good laugh over it tho!

I better get up and moving here! Have a good day!

Barbie, glad you didn’t eat the cupcake. Didn’t your Mother tell you not to take candy from strangers? I guess I have become cynical in my old age but would not eat or drink anything given to me by a stranger especially in this day and age.

Shirl, I certainly understand the attachment to your home, but I'm in the downsizing camp.... Do whatever you find best for you!

I'm having trouble getting going today, but that's pretty much everyday lol

Sorry Barbie. Any changes to daylight savings time in California are not going to happen any time soon. To make a change still requires a 2/3 vote of the State legislate and it must conform to Federal law. If the State legislature were to vote to keep daylight savings time year round, it would have to be approved by the a Federal government which currently does not allow it. California could, with a 2/3 vote of the legislature, opt out of daylight savings time as Arizona has. I voted for the proposition because I dislike changing clocks, but we’re going to have to wait.

Barbie, what Sandi said is true. The governor of FL passed the same preposition last year and we still had to change our clocks last weekend because it has to be passed by the congress, which hasn't happened.

Sure! Way to burst my bubble!

I finally got all the wiring fixed on my Jeep for towing. Spent a few hours at the beach in Oceanside while I waited for it to be done. Didn't feel good on the way home so I took a 3 hour nap. Feeling better now tho.

Welcome Wilma! Where are you currently located? We are spread all over the country so one or more of us is probably close to you. Do you have any pets?

I was getting ready to leave this morning and checked my tires. One of the inside dual tires had zero air. I aired it up and kept loading. After about an hour it had lost 10 pounds. I aired it up again and headed to town. Dropped Sweetie Pie off at the vet and went to the tire shop. They checked the air and it was 78. Well yea, I just aired it up and drove to town. They should know by now, if I say I have a problem, there's a problem. They took the tire off and it had been repaired before and the repair was leaking. According to them it wasn't repaired right. Whatever, fix my tire.

All of this and the rain made me late. I was headed to the lake to winterize the camp trailer and just made it before dark. I hope I don't have any more problems with the tire because I'm headed to Texas in the morning. It's going to be a long night. There is no TV reception and too many trees for the satellite to work.

Barbie, I feel like Shirl. I wouldn't eat or drink anything unless it was from someone I knew well.

Martha

Happy travels.

FYI, the cupcake was sealed in the plastic container they come in from the Cupcake Shop next door. Otherwise, no I would not have trusted eating it or anything else not sealed.

Hello Wilma! Welcome to the group! Nice to see another senior senior still not ready to hang up the keys! There are a few of us "old ones". Not that age matters among these gals! We are from all over; from different backgrounds, different lifestyles, some old, some young, some alone and others have partners. A few of us with little B's like your Roadtrek (mine is a Pleasure Way), others have large diesel pushers or fifth wheels, and some are hoping to one day have a rig. We'd like to hear where you call home and welcome you to meet in person at any of our get-togethers.
