Have a wonderful day, everyone.

I've decided to skip the tour today and make a return weekend visit to this park over the winter/spring and try again. That said, it's supposed to get back to 70 degrees today and I'm going to enjoy. Hope you all enjoy , also.

Gloomy Saturday

It’s a rainy, gray 60 degree day. Still playing catch up with laundry and need to run the vacuum. Always want to stir in a pot on nasty days or bake. It is taking all my will power not to bake the apple walnut cake recipe I found. Need to work off the 3 apple turnovers, still have one left. Tina, I have really tried to think of an adventure for me but no luck. The only fun I have had lately is volunteering at the information desk at a medical center. Lots of Dads now bringing their children to the doctors. My friend and I try not to laugh out loud at the way the children are dressed. Girls are usually in tutus, princess costumes or weird combination of colors. Boys in team shirts, shorts and bed hair. No one is happy. Dads are pretty smart, pick your battles. :D safe travels

Mornin' Beth & Shirl (on the 2nd thread)

I'm in Truth or Consequences NM until Monday. Didnt know this is an artsy fartsy town. Weather had been a little warmer, but only saw the sun for a bit yesterday. Took a drive in the Geronimo Trail scenic Byway for a bit yesterday and took a hit to the windshield by a semi throwing a rock. Have an appointment to get it fixed on Tuesday down by Las Cruces near my next stop.

Have a good day ladies and stay safe wherever you are.

Good morning
Pizza party for grandsons 6th birthday, one of the few times the family gets together. Finally heard from son, it had been a month and I was really getting worried. Turns out he had no phone service anymore since he injured his knee and had been out of work. So,, hope to see him today too.
So far the weather is nice but saw something about rain up on the rim. Guess that means it won't make it to the valley. That's ok by me.
Nothing is new, same old stuff, different day.
Have a great weekend.

Hello Beth, Shirl, Cheryl & Alice! Beth, good to see you are watching the weather and doing/going where you want. Shirl, your posts are amusing! Hope you enjoyed the apple turnovers. Did you get them from the Amish Market? Alice, so glad you heard from your son. I'll be playing in church tomorrow for the first time since we left this past summer. Did some riding around today and Steve will fire up the grill in a few hours. As always, everyone is welcome. We have one of the largest yards in the campground and it's party central here.

Had a very long drive to Napa yesterday and really exhausted when I got here, so of course, I raced around getting three loads of laundry done. Getting too old to be an over-achiever! At least I am right across from laundry room. The good news is that I slept well last night. I seem to be sleeping well about every third night these days. I run out of steam during the day, but still can't sleep well at night. Makes no sense whatsoever. Problem is I wake up a couple of times in the middle of the night and then have trouble getting back to sleep. Anyway, grateful when I have a good night.

So, settled down today and got the place cleaned up and dishes done, so going to do a little work before son comes to get me at 2 pm. I am going to stay with kids while parents go to birthday party. Will make dinner and whatever, but they will be back by 6 or so.

Napa is sunny and warm, as usual, so great weather to be here.

Irmi, Apple turnovers came from Safeway bakery. Oh! My just watched a video of the Scottish Grandmother reading “The Wonky Donkey “ to her 4 month old grandson. I tried to post a link but don’t know how. If it is an ugly day or you are feeling down watch this video. Made my day.

Good afternoon all. Not much activity at my house today. Made a pot roast today so will have enough for today and tomorrows dinner. I am making a keto pizza tomorrow for lunch. Thanks to Alice posting the pizza story. I actually like it so that is a plus. I have fresh mushrooms, onions and a pepper and some pepperoni to put on it and of course cheese. YES.

Made a trip up the freeway yesterday to Grants Pass, they had the paint sprayer I wanted to buy in stock as neither of our Walmarts, Home Depot or Lowes had it. They all had the more expensive ones but I just needed a cheapo one. Also got 3 gallons of stain so as soon as Jose finishes trimming my fence I can start staining it.

Today I am just going to veg out. I have a few recorded shows to watch so I need to get busy as a new week is coming LOL

Glad you made it to Napa safely Judy. I didnt know you were so close to me at Emigrant until I got caught up on previous posts. Sorry I missed you.

Hope you feel better Beth.

Karen, I've had sinus problems for years... Just seems the past year has been extremely bad. I must have felt that way years past because I've tried most meds. Most meds and I don't get along. So I go with natural remedies which usually help. But I have to stick with them. Then I get utterly frustrated and try one of the meds again and prefer the sinus problems to the effects those have.

Needless to say I should know better. That said today I've actually gotten a few things accomplished... Cleaned a.c. Filter and other rv projects. Refilled water tank in prep of leaving tomorrow. Sat outside quite awhile. Ty ws exceptionally good. A group of people rode by and he only barked at the first two of the five lol That is miraculous... Maybe I'm getting somewhere with him and bikes. Maybe.

Irmi, I'm sure the church is glad to have you back. But what about the person who plays the rest of the year. Does he or she not want to play winters?

Beth, have you tried a neti pot? I used one once and it felt weird but did seem to work. My sinuses seem to be plugged up lately too. Not sneezing or anything but just congested a bit which drains at times.

Nothing much new here. Had a good day at work. Got two $10 tips, and one customer went to find the manager after I cut her daughter's hair to tell her what a good job I did and how happy her daughter was. Always like to hear that!

I am thinking about driving up to Julian, a cute little gold mining town up in the mountains about an hour and a half from here, one day this week. They have fall colors there and are well known for their apple orchards and pies. Lots of cute little shops there too.

Off to bed since I have to open the shop in the morning. Off early and then 2 days off.

I did use one at one time
Just using saline solution is easier and helped as much. I've upped my saline solution usage and it's helping.

Barbie, when you visit Julian, try to imagine what it was like in 1930, when my Moms first teaching job was in a one room school in Julian!

I have used Neil Med saline nasal rinse for around 30 years! I prefer the squirt bottle that comes in the kit from Costco with 250 little packets of buffered salt. I rinse morning and night and it keeps me clear. If I happen to get a cold stopping up my nose, I use 2 packets in the bottle with lukewarm water, just one time. That's hypertonic solution so will pull more swelling from tissue. If your nose is irritated, it will sting like crazy, making your eyes water. But if you grit your teeth and use it, my nose clears completely within 20 min. I ONLY use hypertonic (2 packets salt /8 oz water) on those rare occasions I feel I need it.
Never try to use your own salt, ESP never iodized salt, because store bought or even sea salt is not guaranteed sterile and is not buffered to normal body Ph. And be very sure of your water source being clean. I'm comfortable with my city tap water here, but if away from home I use either bottled water or from my Berkey filter. You can set bottle in sun on dash or window in morning sun to take chill off if needed because extreme warm or cold is unpleasant. I stopped needing daily decongestants once I developed the daily saline habit.

That is so cool about your Mom! Julian has a very interesting history!

I will check out that saline product at Costco. Thanks!
