About to head out for my 3rd NM state park in 3 days. I'll start slowing down, but these northern NM parks are in their off season and I'm still chasing the weather. I think I'll stay at least a couple nights at the next two... But who knows.

Have a wonderful day.. Enjoy it wherever you are, whatever you're doing

We were going to leave today for a quick trip to Yuma for dental care in Algadones, check the trailer and lot and then spend some leisurely time coming back. Weather across the central states had us postpone departure for one day. Have 3 sets of clothes, one for trip down, summer while there and then warmer clothes for trip on way back. Very chilly and rainy here. Seems very funny to be on trip without Breezie. She went on all our out west trips but I knew last winter that it would be her last, Trailer about loaded.

Today is a rest day. I spent all yesterday trying to trace a loose wire in my solar set-up. I got so frustrated that I finally took it apart and rewired it. It works! Still, makes me need down time today. ;)

So, the dog and I have been practicing some moves. He has finally developed enough self-control that tossing the ball is a delightful reward instead of a mind-blowing thrilling experience!

Campground allows rig washing so did that this morning. Am now waiting at Cummins to get my generator checked because it stopped working last week. Would start but then stop. Tomorrow is laundry in morning and doctor appointment in late afternoon. Grocery shopping will be on way out on Friday morning.

Also found closed Oregon weigh station last week. These are smaller than ones on freeway, but when they are closed they often leave scales turned on so I drove through. (You can tell because there is a pole with number showing.). My rig’s rear is way too heavy and front too light so going to move some stuff around to get a better balance. Course this means cleaning as I move stuff so a lot of work but got to be done. Also going to move pop to floor of driver’s seat. So lots to do this week.

I would love to explore New Mexico some day. I just drove thru there a couple years ago along Route 66 but didn't have time to see any other places there.

We are having our $8.99 haircut sale and it is frustrating because people either tip on the sale price or don't tip at all. They are still getting a full haircut! Many are just handing us a $10 bill and walking out the door. One dollar tip. Grrr! Really cuts back on my income for the week. Luckily, the regulars still tip good, these are just new people looking for a cheap haircut.

I want to move some pavers from the back patio to put alongside the driveway. I figured if I break up one of the pavers and remove it, I can pull up the rest of them easy. So I took a hammer and chisel to one of the smaller ones and started hammering away. I broke it up but they are so tightly packed in together and against the retaining wall that I can't pull any of the pieces out. I think I need a jackhammer! I will have to get my handyman over to help me with that. Meanwhile, I will get the rest of that project done with the fake sod, etc. Like my dad used to say, a 10 minute job always takes half the day!

Last night was cool enough that I closed all the windows before going to bed. I even wore a light sweater to work this morning. I am liking this weather!

Am hoping those of you in FL and that area are in a safe, dry place for Hurricane Michael! Liz is in Gainesville waiting it out and Donna is hunkering down at home. My friend in Crystal River lives on a canal there and has been evacuated. They are heading inland today. Their house got flooded two years ago from a hurricane storm surge at high tide.

Barbie - I know it's frustrating to only get a 10% tip on the sale haircuts. Think of this, tho - when you eat out in a restaurant and order off the specials menu you probably tip the waitperson a percent based on the bill, not whatever the regular price for that meal might be. Just sayin'

I hadn't thought of that. I go out occasionally with a couple of women and a toddler. The baby has grown up going with us to this restaurant and so far is well behaved. Because we are usually there over an hour, I always double tip as I figure we have held up the table from the waitress getting another customer. I think tipping is unfair to all but it is hard to change customs.

I always tip on the regular price even if it is discounted.

My average tip is $5, sometimes more, sometimes less. I know tips are voluntary and based on service and quality and I realize some people either don't know they are allowed to tip or they are on a limited income (seniors especially). I just get frustrated when I am working harder and very busy during these sales and end up with half of my normal tips. Just part of the job I guess. Was just venting...
