First Wednesday of October

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

First Wednesday of October

Postby Othersharon » Wed Oct 03, 2018 10:08 am

Good morning! We had a rare occurrence here in PA last evening....tornados! Not something we get here in this area as a rule. Luckily they were north of me but not that many miles as the crow flies. We did have some weird wind shifts, no wind to strong wind back to calm and got some heavy rain. I would imagine the streets that usually flood did here in town. Really strange weather for this time of year.

I finally managed to get my yard mowed the other day and kinda think it’ll be the last for this summer. But with the warm temps they are talking about I might have to do it again! I did notice when I headed over the mountain yesterday to Bellefonte that the trees are starting to change colors up on the hills. I went over on Saturday and there wasn’t much color yet. So will I be raking leaves or mowing is the question!

Need to get ready to go into doctor’s office in awhile for the wellness visit for Medicare. They have been bugging me for months so finally made the appointment. Frankly I think it’s a waste of time and money but will play the game. Hope you all have a good day and travel safe if you are heading out to other exciting places!

Hooray, someone has listened to me at Kaiser. Or, read my e-mails with understanding. I will be starting PT sessions soon.

I have completely lost interest in baseball. Maybe if they paid the players after the season on their stats that would peak the interest.

Beth, drive safely when you leave Keystone. Will you be stopping at Quartzsite this January?

Lyn, glad you finally got someone's attention and are getting PT soon! Hopefully, that will help a lot.

Sharon, glad you didn't get hit with those tornadoes! I lived with that threat quite a bit in MN and it is scary.

I think we got some rain overnight but not the big rain/thunderstorms they were predicting. Sunny, cooler and breezy today. Very nice!

Lola is laying on my lap purring right now, for the second time this morning. She sure has changed into a more loving, affectionate cat all of a sudden! I love it!

Our first monthly HOA dinner for this Saturday was cancelled. Maybe for lack of sign ups. Too bad. :( I think a lot of people here are just not that social.

A lot of things around this park that needed to get done, fixed, etc were not getting taken care of so one guy here (very outspoken and knowledgeable) set up a meeting with the owners and management and residents (I overslept that day) last week. I guess it got pretty heated, but now there are plans to get all those things taken care of, so like they say, the squeaky wheel gets the grease!

I have a few things that need to be taken care of around here today before I head to work later.

Have a good day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Sharon, mow the leaves. lol It didn't rain yesterday so I am going to try to mow some of the yard. Just hope I don't get the mower stuck.

My shirt is wet because I was out in the camper rearranging things. Turned the refrigerator on. I probably should have done that yesterday since it takes so long for the refrigerator part to get cold. I decided I was going to make a crab dip for the campout so cooked part of it so all I have to do is put it together at the campground. Just hope I get all the ingredients loaded.

Before my trip to Texas I tried to update my old Garmin GPS. The computer never would recognize that it was connected and then the Garmin wouldn't turn on. I figured it was just too old and I was going to throw it away. Good thing I don't do anything very fast. This morning when I turned on my computer a message came up that there were map updates for the Garmin. I thought what the heck, I'll plug it in and see what happens. It came on, the computer recognized that it was connected and it says it updated. I'll try it out this weekend. I finally found my TomTom. It was in the bag I took to Florida to pick up the newer camper. I never used it and it didn't get taken out of the bag.

Hi all. Glad no tornados here, but I could do without the wind LOL. Actually, I enjoyed dinner with the couple who stayed to finish inventory, etc last night. And we've been back and forth getting our rigs set to leave. Then Marnie and I walked to a shop still open for her to pick up something she'd seen there before. Ty's been walked a few times and has had a ball chasing and catching leaves that are blowing all around us. Colors are nice around here and I hope to see more tomorrow, etc.

Lyn, intend to spend January in Arizona... Hopefully a couple weeks with everyone at Q.

Beth, does the whole town of Keystone shut down for the winter?

I am going to try to make it to Q in January as well.

Getting a little rain here tonight. Will welcome anything we can get!

Probably 75 - 90% does.
