Morning Everybody. First day of another month is upon us. How about checking in and saying hi, let us know how you are doing etc....
Cloudy morning here in the north country. Starting to look like fall as the trees are going from dark to a yellowish green, couple weeks away from some good color yet. Been chilly too, in the 40’s for highs of late, but going back to the more normal 50’s-60’s. I like ve this time of year with it’s crisp days. Time to haul out the flannel shirts, drink apple cider and just be outdoors. Lots of fall festivals and activities go on up here now. I am so over 80 degree weather
Been busy puttsing around here doing some tree trimming in the yard. I’ve always loved working in the woods and such in the fall. Hoping to winterize my trailer this week too. Hopefully insulation guy will be here to see about adding some extra insulation to my attic some time this week.
Okay, enough jabbering here. Off to other things. Ya’all have a nice day out there.

I think I said Rabbits first this morning. That's if I didn't speak during an overnight potty break. After a quite cold weekend temps start rising again today.
Nothing exciting to talk about... Except two more sleeps and back on the road!

Good Morning. Looked like your Rabbits posted first, Cheryl! I sort of remembered rabbits this morning but not going to worry about whether I spoke to Lark in the middle of the night or not. Enjoyed rolling over this morning and drifting back to sleep for another hour something Josef and I didn't get to do this weekend because of early early ring times. No love for Josef this weekend. He earned Best of Opposite Sex but that did not earn him Best of Breed Owner this time around but that is the way of dog shows. Next weekend in Oak Ridge, TN, we will try again with different judges.
I do think about may of you and the personal journeys that each of us are on whether it is health related, general discovery or just everyday survival of living. Few of us share our hearts and deep dreams anymore in public places but it is still sort of nice to know that there may be a few kindred spirits that might be lurking around that would be there in a flash if we sent an email. That knowledge still helps me move through the days sometimes.
Have a good October!

Good morning all! Finding it hard to believe it’s already October! Where does the time go? I actually remembered to say “rabbits “ this morning! Probably because Rascal slept in so didn’t have to talk! My yard is finally starting to dry out a bit so as soon as the dew wet dries I can get my yard mowed today! Maybe the last time?? Now to deal with the leaves as they fall! I’m starting to see some color but not much yet.
Beth, Wednesday will be here before you know it and you’ll be off on your winter adventures! And Judy, you’ll be heading to warmer areas soon too. Sue, I have some tree trimming I’d like to do if you want to come this way!!
Tina, it’s interesting to hear about the different judges and what they individually look for. And BJ, thanks for the links for meditation. I’m going to check them out too to see if I can learn to let my “night thoughts” go and get a good sleep.
Hope you all have a good month and those with medical situations can start feeling better. Travel safe!

Ah!
Blessed October. My favorite month of the year - the month of things left undone, of promise of things to come, of possibilities yet to become real.
I thus post a poem that has been a favorite of mine for the better part of my life.
Not exactly an "October poem", but evocative of the season, nonetheless.
I hope you enjoy it.
Anne
The Listeners
by Walter de la Mare
‘Is there anybody there?’ said the Traveller,
Knocking on the moonlit door;
And his horse in the silence champed the grasses
Of the forest’s ferny floor:
And a bird flew up out of the turret,
Above the Traveller’s head:
And he smote upon the door again a second time;
‘Is there anybody there?’ he said.
But no one descended to the Traveller;
No head from the leaf-fringed sill
Leaned over and looked into his grey eyes,
Where he stood perplexed and still.
But only a host of phantom listeners
That dwelt in the lone house then
Stood listening in the quiet of the moonlight
To that voice from the world of men:
Stood thronging the faint moonbeams on the dark stair,
That goes down to the empty hall,
Hearkening in an air stirred and shaken
By the lonely Traveller’s call.
And he felt in his heart their strangeness,
Their stillness answering his cry,
While his horse moved, cropping the dark turf,
’Neath the starred and leafy sky;
For he suddenly smote on the door, even
Louder, and lifted his head:—
‘Tell them I came, and no one answered,
That I kept my word,’ he said.
Never the least stir made the listeners,
Though every word he spake
Fell echoing through the shadowiness of the still house
From the one man left awake:
Ay, they heard his foot upon the stirrup,
And the sound of iron on stone,
And how the silence surged softly backward,
When the plunging hoofs were gone.

Good morning from N. Central CA. Has looked like fall these last two mornings with overcast sky but burns off by noon for comfy afternoons.

Happy October 1st everyone! I said rabbits at 12:01 last night and then I went to bed.
We are still in a campground on the MD/DE line and will go home the same time Beth starts down the road to her next destination. It was 60 this morning when I got up and we'll get to just about 81 this afternoon. I'm already missing the warmer temperatures but we'll be heading south in a little over a week, so warmer temperatures, here we come. I gave notice at church yesterday that this coming Sunday will be the last Sunday I'll play for them until we get back in the spring. I will miss them.

I forgot to say rabbits, guess that is because I didn't remember it was last day of month. Barbie your dress and earrings look terrific! Have a good time at the wedding. Irmi, Beth and all others on or about to be on the road have a safe journey and enjoy! Lyn I hope you can find some relief from your pain!
Thanks for sharing the poem Anne. I remember a few from high school we had to memorize. I particularly liked The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost. Another I saw somewhere and liked is actually from a song that KY school children sang as they played a game.
The needles eye that does supply
the thread that runs so true
Many of beau have I let go
because I wanted you
Many a dark and stormy night
when I went home with you
I stumped my toe and down I go
Because I wanted you.

Good morning. Light rain off and on this morning, smells so good. Had my financial advisor appt today and so far so good. Have another appt next week with a lawyer to get my will updated. Then should have all the financial stuff organized.
Starting to get things organized for my trip south. It is only for a week but it is camping so it is all good., Should have a fun time.
Heartguard day so dont want to forget that. Have the alarm on my phone for that chore so I dont easily forget as sometimes I get distracted.
Not heading out anywhere for this winter. Just going to stay home and do some inside projects and continue to sort out the junk I have accumulated over the years that I havent used forever so time to go. Need to make some reservations for Albany Oregon the end of March as they are having a Tibetan Spaniel Specialty show up there and I am one of the volunteers. Since I know NOTHING about dog shows this should be fun. Will be working hospitality and any other needs they might have so that should be safe. My breeder from Michigan (where I got Emma from) is going to be one of the judges so I get to meet her, very exciting. She is anxious to see Emma.

I thought I posted, but do not see it, so will post now. I have been boring everyone endlessly with stories of my sore ankle, so won't go into it here.
Our Benji got a little ear infection so Val took him to the vet this morning. He feels better all ready with the medicine the vet gave her.
I really like our vet, had her for Casey too. Expensive, but worth it.
I said rabbits this morning!!!
Loved your post Tina about we would run to help one another ! yes we would.
Also loved the poems that have been posted. Thank you for those.

I've been fighting a kidney stone or infection of some sort also, Grannymaggie. Have been for several weeks--just think it is over and get more pain. Might see someone eventually. Been really tired also and have my sleep hours messed up, so I need to start getting to bed earlier and up earlier.
Enough on my complaints. It is a beautiful, cool fall day, and the campground is almost empty and very quiet, so I need to enjoy it. I need to do some serious dusting in this place today with a wet cloth. How do RVs get so dusty???? My AC recirculates air and I always put my vehicle AC on max so it does not pull in dust. I think what I really also need is a truck wash, so I need to do some research and see what I can find on my way to Bend, OR on Wednesday. Outside is really filthy and just makes me feel dirty when I have to touch anything outside.
Looking forward to getting to Napa in a couple of weeks so I can see my son's family, especially grandkids.
