It is 2:45am and I cannot get to sleep! My mind is racing and won't settle down. I am up again, trying some warm cappuccino. Wanted to put some Baileys in it but couldn't get the bottle open...

Got a lot done yesterday with sorting and reorganizing the boxes of stuff I had stored in the master closet. Just have my tools and hardware to organize and put away and then clean the floor and move stuff in. Now that all that stuff in organized and in labeled bins, I will be able to find stuff now.

There was an important meeting at our park that I was supposed to attend yesterday morning at 10am and I totally forgot about it. Altho I didn't wake up until 11am so I would have missed it even if I had remembered. Oh well... I never sleep that late but took a half an Advil PM to help me get to sleep and it really knocked me out. Should have taken one before bed last night but now it is too late to take it since I probably wouldn't wake up until after noon and I have to be to work at 1:00. I don't want to be groggy at work altho I will be anyways if I don't get to sleep soon!

Up here in Michigan. I am so used to waking up in the middle of the night. Sometimes I can go right back to sleep and other times I have to practice some meditation breathing and patience. It does help when I know that I don't absolutely have to be awake again at 6AM.

Another day at a dog show. This regional club is the oldest English Cocker Regional Club and they have a beautiful outside setting at the Brighton Recreational area. We are having good luck with weather. We have temperatures in the 60's with cloud cover but no rain. The rain is staying just south of us. Out side shows in the rain are really not so much fun as you might imagine with coated dogs. So our jackets will stay on again today.

The quality of dogs and the quality of grooming at this speciality is really above my pay grade but the knowledge base here is fantastic. Many long time experienced breeders/owners. No top handlers. Lots of visiting between the pop ups.... The owner/breeder of Josef's sire came down from Canada to visit also and was able to watch him yesterday. She told him how proud is daddy is and how much he looks like his sire "Liam."

Time to pull the side in unhook the electric and drive the 1.5 miles down the road from the campground to the recreational area. Here we go!

Yesterday someone came to buy & remove the 8x6 Tuff shed from my patio area. (This is a wooden shed where the walls are pre-fabbed but the whole thing is built on-site.) Very nice guy, very meticulous. Had to un-assemble it, lift each piece over the privacy fence & will rebuild it at their place. His wife is delighted to get it & I'm happy to have more space. Now I need to figure out what I'm going to do with the whole area... put pavers down? a combination of pavers & rocks? good artificial grass? real grass? I wish I had an eye for this stuff. All I know is I want a green oaysis-type space - plants, flowers, maybe a small tree... Landscapers out here only get back with you if you have a good-sized budget. I'll come up with something - it just might take me awhile.

Need to spend time on some work stuff that has me puzzled today. And then start scouting out ideas for the patio area. That will pretty much be my life for the next few weeks.

I think I finally fell asleep around 3:30 or so. Woke up at 9am. Will be tired at work today Need to take the Advil PM tonight around 10pm and get a good nights sleep tonight.

Catherine, I would go for the artificial grass. Looks nice and no maintenance.

Need to get a few things done around here before going to work. I have tomorrow off and want to get moved in by the end of the day.

It's raining again. Frosty came in the back door and wanted out the front but when he saw it raining in the front too he changed his mind. Now he's sitting in a window watching it rain. He must have business he needs to tend to.

Yesterday it looked like we had rain coming in from the West so I decided to see if I could get some mowing done. I got most of the yard and some around the barn.

Catherine, you should be able to get lots of ideas on the internet for your patio. Just don't plant something that will get too big. I wish I had planted some good pecan trees since the lightening got my pecan tree. I keep trying to think of a good place to plant some. If I put them in the pasture I would have to build a fence around them for them to survive. I don't know that I would live long enough to see pecans anyway.

I am use to waking up during the night or early in the morning. Most of the time I can go back to sleep. Don't know what I will do today. Probably the usual nothing. I started the Roomba to clean up CC's mess. There was a box in the living room that he has been tearing up.

Hi everyone!

Barbie, I always have trouble sleeping. Steve & I go up about 4:30 this morning because I was tossing and turning in bed. He went back to the bedroom about 6:30 for a quick nap until he heard me getting ready for church and he was up again. He is still my transportation director.

Tina, I enjoy hearing about the dog shows you go to but I understand the cooking and kitchen things so much better. LOL!

Catherine, like Barbie said, use the artificial grass or do something that is low maintenance.

Martha, we have a huge pecan tree in our yard and after it was stuck by lightning about our first or second winter in Ocala, has all but stopped producing pecans. We have a tree company that comes by every year to put nutrients into the ground to help the roots continue to survive. This old, old tree gives our yard lots of shade.

It's raining on the eastern shore of MD and we turned the heat on this morning to take the chill off. We're keeping an eye on hurricane Florence with hopes we'll be spared. Right now it's a crap shoot.

Just came back from dropping off paint cans at the local paint store for recycling. Then dropped of about 50 plastic store bags that I have been collecting, to be recycled. I keep forgetting to bring bags into the store with me and end up buying more every time so have accumulated a ton of them! They multiply like rabbits!

Got some more flea bomb stuff to use once more before my roommate moves in. I am bombing the porch right now. Then tomorrow I can put the cats out there for the day, while I do the rest of the house.

Catherine, I'd go with rocks interspersed with whatever planters, etc for the green. Artificial turf isn't natural and just becomes something else to spend thousands of years before it breaks down. But I'll not give you trouble if you choose it.

This is our hottest summer in Keystone that I remember. After an occasional cool day, the heat comes back. Not nearly what many of you have and it cools down at night, but I'm complaining anyway LOL. Actually if it continues I'll be able to head south through the Rockies and maybe some wonderful fall colors.

Here’s my 2 cents worth Catherine. Not knowing the size you’ll be working with makes it a little harder, but I would go with pavers and lots of pots at varying heights for plants plus a small recirculating fountain to give you the sound of flowing/falling water which is so relaxing. I don’t really like artificial grass because most look artificial. The plants will give you green and color and can be changed throughout the year. You could put some plants in the ground in areas you don’t put pavers. A tree would be nice if you want some shade.

Catherine - Artificial turf needs to be regularly hosed off especially if your pooch uses it. Rock/pavers/small cement area will look really nice with planters for your flowers, tree, etc.

Long way from morning!!! Went and watched the Chargers game with the daughter and others. I have trouble going to sleep. Once asleep, can get up a couple of times to go potty, then go right back asleep. If I take one ibuprofen, that helps getting to sleep.

Nah, Lyn, you don't look relaxed at all. Kidding! Beautiful... I couldn't keep that furniture clean for a week. Do clean and fresh looking!
