Mornin' ladies~~~

Eileen & I are currently parked in the UP of Michigan and did some wandering up into the Keneenaw peninsula yesterday hunting waterfalls & lighthouses. Missed a couple because they were not marked well. May do more of the same today.

On our way up, we stopped in Land O Lakes WI to visit another retiree friend of mine. Waiting for Eileen's DH to show up on Monday.

That's all from me. Have a good day ladies.

Morning Cheryl and all. Glad you two are having fun roaming around looking at waterfalls and lighthouses. I was at the Seoul Choix lighthouse about a week ago, down on Lake Michigan. Beautiful place. Right now I am loaded with all but food and last minute stuff to head out again in a few days. Antsy to get going. Been home a week and miss being in my trailer.

Having some nice rainy weather here today. Very much needed. Looks like a mixed bag of showers and sun for upcoming week. Am going to a craft show today, so hoping for a little lull in the rain. First it’s to local Farmers Market for some produce and eggs.

Barbie, there’s a new Great Clips open here now. They are advertising $4.99 hair cuts right now, to get business in. I’m going to try them next time I need a haircut. The current place I go to is getting outrageous on their prices. Plus they have lost some of their girls too, including one of the ones who cuts my hair. Was dead n there yesterday. Bet ever body was trying Great Clips.

Velda, glad you posted yesterday, as I was wondering how things are going. I agree, it’s probably time to call in Hospice. Give you some added help and a break away when you need it. Glad you gals on the east coast are getting a break in your weather. Peggy, are you traveling again this winter? Hard to believe that it’s getting to be that time already, when winter plans are looming. Like Judy, I’m already thinking next summers reservations, but can’t start making any till latter part of December on. 6 month window.

Time to move along here. Have a nice day everyone.

Very rough night with him up and down all night trying to get his throat clear. Then this morning he says after attempting to eat one bite toast and one spoonful rice pudding, he looks at me and says those words I have been ready to hear but dreading , " maybe it's time to let go" ..... I have been ready but letting him come to this on his own, but dang it's hard to hear. Will update as I can.

So sorry for the struggle you and Mel are dealing with but very proud you were able to let him reach decision.
My cousin recently called hospice in for her husband (Parkenson's and colon cancer).

Velda, big, big hugs to you. No matter how much we know it's okay, it doesn't get easier when the time arrives. Hey all the help and support you can and know you've been a rock... You've been absolutely wonderful.

Good morning all
Kind of a rough week for me but I managed, one day at a time. Blew the radiator in my car on Monday, that caused me a little sissy meltdown as all the stresses came to a head. Work was not about to let me stay home, they sent somebody to pick me up, then arranged a ride Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday I got a rental from enterprise for two days. I asked for the cheapest economy car and the upgraded me to ****drum roll***** a jeep wrangler!! My lucky day!!! Of all vehicles, they put me in my dream car! 4 door Sahara, was nice. Told work they should come look for me on a dirt road in the mountains Haha Haha. And we all laughed !!!! Got all my errands done, picked up a radiator for the car $121, dropped the car off at daughters 'in laws" and have her car for the weekend and Monday. It was fun to drive the new jeep around and feel like somebody and equally nice to look at it in my driveway those two nights. Funny how something so silly can put you in a different frame of mind. I was definitely reminded why I went back to work!!
Laundry today and then nothing for tomorrow, I will just relax.
Ya'll enjoy your day, sorry for those dealing with your own stresses, Velda, will add prayers for you.

Lifting you and Mel up in my prayers, Velda. Virtual hugs too.

Doing my volunteer stint at Twice Nice shop today. Denny's for dinner tonight. We're enjoying the two meals a week from Hello Fresh and Home Chef. We are alternating, trying them both until we decide which we like better. Both are good.

Good afternoon Everybody,
Velda, sending a big hug to you.
Ava, why does having a Jeep in your driveway make you feel like another person? I like the Alice I know, and she doesn't have a Jeep.
Sue, you asked about my travel plans. I am going to Chile and Easter Island in October; a place I have wanted to see forever... Carolb and I talked briefly about caravaning out to the southwest in November. I think the Trek has another trip out west in her. It's been running fine since the crank shaft sensor was replaced in Florida. So, I might get to Quartzsite in January. I would like that. Thanks for asking. Enjoy today. Peggy

Only excitement today is going into town to dump my tanks and get some propane. No dump service at this campground, so have to go in and pay $10, but I am only paying a senior rate of $20 per day for a site with a small view of the ocean and lots of sounds of waves breaking, so no complaints! Tomorrow, I will drive into Newport for really good cell service so I can go online with student presentations and make a stop at Walmarts. Also need haircut and do laundry there.

I've been thinking about summer and deciding what I want to do in Michigan and Ohio then, maybe PA?? Definitely want a few days in Ontario to check on some great-grandparent information that stumps me.

Most importantly, I am making a list of what I want to see on the way as I drive through New Mexico and then head east. I have spent a lot of time in Arizona, but not so much in NM. So, making a list and then drawing lines between places for efficient driving. I want to go back to Cochiti Lake (COE and gorgeous views) near Santa Fe. Also spend some time in Los Alamos and maybe take a tour to Chaco Canyon. Don't want to drive the 20 miles of gravel road there, so a day tour is the best thing or me. Then in early May, I will cut up to Minooka Park and Bloomington East COE campground in Kansas and head to Boulder Lake on Carlyle Lake in IL, finally getting to Ohio. Too early for reservations along that route, but at least I will be ready when they open.

Velda, I am glad to hear Mel is accepting his situation, even if it is so tough for you to hear. :( He fought a good fight for a long time and you helped him thru it the whole way. Now it is time to "let go and let God".

Short day at work. It is beautiful outside with mild temps and no humidity. Perfect! Just relaxing for now after stopping at a garage sale down the street. Will start painting again tonight.

Lola's been coughing up a lot of furballs recently so I got a Furminator and that really takes out a lot of loose fur! She loves being brushed too.

Ava, glad you got to try out your dream Jeep! I know how you feel. It gives you a big shot of motivation to work towards that goal!

Cheryl, I also love looking at waterfalls! There are about 5 state parks in MN between Duluth and Canada along Lake Superior that have waterfalls coming down into Lake Superior and are just breathtaking! Just beautiful along there and I am sure it is the same where you are as well.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
