Wet Monday

Good morning! Well, another wet couple of days forecasted. Just had a heavy shower come through and temps are way down. I decided on long pants this morning! My friend and I went to Harrisburg on Saturday and went to Camping World. Picked up vent covers for Lola. Been saying I needed them ever since I woke up to wet bedding one night! Grange Fair starts the end of the week and right now I’m looking forward to it. By the time it’s over I’m usually over it too! Just grateful that this year I can go and enjoy walking around. Last year with my back and sciatica pain in my leg I only got out a couple days. Amazing how much better it is now. As long as I keep up with the excersises it’s doing great. Gotta love a good physical therapist and chiropractor for getting me on a good track! I just have to remember not to just sit and people watch. Need to stay up and walking every so often.

Wish I could send some of this rain to you gals out west. Glacier Park closed now. Gee, how many national parks have had to close? Take care to those of you in the areas of fires and smoke. Hope everyone has a great day.

Good Morning Monday

Good Morning. Typical Ohio August weather. Warm and humid. Remember Barbie you're not in MN anymore. I think noticing the heat and humidity in Southern California (unless you're directly on the coast near San Diego) might be a little like noticing the summer in Florida, only Florida's summer lasts longer. Good luck surviving though and remember it is a trade off for not having the winters we do up north.

Heading up the road in a little bit to meet up with Sharon for a lunch get together. I think the theme is BBQ but don't expect food pictures from me. I am still waiting for a call from the repair shop regarding the RV. I will need to remind them that I need it by the end of the month so I can head down to Lexington for a five day dog show held at the Kentucky Horse Park. Not looking forward to the repair costs but I remind myself that is what I earn money for when I work in the spring. I am hoping that the refrigerator survived being parked in their lot for a couple of days. when I finally realized that it was going to take a while to get fixed I headed over and unloaded the frig and turned it off but I won't know until I get the rig back and try to cool it down if any damage was done.

My WiFi and Lap top both have decided to create difficulties at the same time. It was frustrating trying to figure out which device was suffering from what. After two trips to the Apple store there does still seem to be a glitch in the lap top but since it doesn't seem to be consistent they suggested I wait. We have already reloaded the software and to do anything with the hardware would take a couple of weeks. They are hoping that Apple might come out with a patch to fix the issue in the mean time. Either way I have over a year left in my Apple Care coverage to get it repaired at no cost. The WiFi is just old and seems to be slowing down and no running consistently. Often neither my Lap top or my iPad can find the signal and if they can it runs very slow. Both issues have reminded me that I really could live well enough without connecting to the internet quite so often and that most important information can be sent to me by email.... and life again would be much simpler. But I really would like Alexa to find good music for me and she needs a WiFI for that.

So Good Morning to any of the posters to follow and Good Morning to all the lurkers and readers.....may you all find the wonders and good adventures in what might otherwise be an ordinary day!

Tina

Morning all!

We’re in a short period of warm, dry, sunny, and not too humid here in Central Illinois. As I understand it this is to be short lived with rain and ongoing storms heading our way by Wednesday. Good times. :D

Not much doing here, just going swimming and maybe a run to the library. I’m thinking about taking on a few private students and doing some swim coaching, it would be nice to build the savings back up after our expensive summer trip.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

This weather reminds me of the summers in Minnesota. I am just frustrated because I have so many projects that I can't do because of the heat and humidity. It normally isn't humid out here but it is this summer. I do remind myself that the winter will be nice! I used to dread the end of the summer in MN because I knew the long, cold, miserable winter was coming up in a couple months and that was very depressing to think about. Now I look forward to that time here.

I put my large fan in the living room window last night to pull in the cool outside air overnight. It is much more comfortable in here this morning. I am afraid to see my electric bill from using my fans and AC this past month! It is a necessary evil tho. I just use the AC at night while sleeping and keep it at around 74*, just cool enough to be comfortable.

Gotta run a few errands this morning and then will be off to work at 2pm. I don't get a day off until Thursday and Friday. School starts Wednesday so I am on a marathon work schedule right now. 8 days straight!

So sad about all the wildfires all over the west right now. Hoping we all get a rainy/snowy winter this year to combat the droughts.

Hope you all have a good day!

I finally got most of the yard mowed yesterday except around the bottom of the hill that stays wet a long time. I got the mower stuck in the mud the second pass. I found a chain long enough to use the truck to pull it out and not get the truck stuck. After that I was very careful. I didn't want to have to ask the neighbor to pull me out with his tractor.

Has anyone seen the Academy Ad for the ice chest with the fan to use as an air conditioner? I have seen pictures of some that people have made that they put ice in and blow a fan over it. Academy only wants $400 for it.

I feel like there is something I am suppose to do today but don't know what. I need to call tomorrow for a hair cut. Hope I can get one before Thursday. I am suppose to go camping where there is a swimming pool and I don't want to be fighting with my hair all weekend.

I need to call the RV service place I use and ask about the satellite. I'm sure it would be 2 months before I could get it in. They had a new person answering the phone and making appointments the last time I was in there and she is ditzy. I have seen posts on Facebook where she has made people mad because she doesn't know what people are trying to tell her. I don't remember now what I brought the camper in for but what ever she had written down was not what I tried to tell her.

I need a haircut, too, Barbie, but you are a little too far away. Will see what I can find when I get to my next stop, or maybe when I drop my bike off tomorrow to get a tire fixed.

I tried to see the meteor shower last night, but it was too hazy. Then I looked in the news online and found out there was a fire down the Columbia Gorge about 45 miles away! It was not a large one and they contained it fast, but it has added a layer of grey to what should be a blue sky. Everything is dry around here and would burn fast.

I am glad it is Monday and all the families with big boats and lots of vehicles are gone. I am here until Saturday morning, which will be a good time to leave. Also, glad to be traveling on Saturday instead of Sunday. Need to remember to not drive on Sunday if it is through a scenic area where people might go for a Sunday drive. Last drive from Fort Stevens to Eugene through the mountains was tough because of all the traffic. Better to drive on Saturday or Monday.

Martha, the ice chests with fans work similarly to swamp coolers. I wouldn't recommend them except in dry climates unless someone's come out with a way to keep that melting ice from adding more moisture to the air.

As expected, with the end of Sturgis, it's quieted consider considerably... Kind of boring. Ok, really boring. But I don't miss listening to the roar of the bikes.

I'll see how well Ty does at getting up early tomorrow. I need to open so we'll be walking around 6 am.... Well before my time to get up.

Judy it was too hazy here also... I determined early on so didn't try. I guess I should have the previous night.

I wouldn't buy one of the ice chest air conditioners. I just thought it was funny the company took someone's idea that could be made for probably less than $50 and wants $400 for it.
