We are under an extreme heat warning today and tomorrow here in SoCal. I was outside for a bit earlier working on my side yard project and it is already really hot. Supposed to be around 100* today or higher. Luckily, it doesn't feel quite so humid so that helps some.
My potential roommate came by with references and to get forms from the manager to fill out for approval. It will be nice to have some help around here for the yard and some company. She is so nice and I think we will get along very well.
I feel for those of you dealing with the fires and smoke. Such a sad and tragic situation for so many.

Hi Barbie, Peggy & everyone!
Barbie, I like your new picture, too.
It's warm in MD with a high of only around 91 (I say only because so many have temperatures above 100 for days on end) and no rain for two days in a row. We're enjoying seeing the sun again.
Enjoy the day!

I'm in the middle and it is HOT here too!! I think Tina brought it with her andd forgot an left it here! And I also agree, very nice now picture of you Barbie. I hope your roommate works out well. I think it is fun to have someone live with you, keeps one from getting to set in their ways. At least that was how it worked for me when I was single. Heading out for coffee with a friend in a bit guess I better turn the AC on in my van.

Afternoon everyone. I'm taking a break... Going back in around 4 for a few hours while an employee goes into Rapid City to pick up their cat that had dental work today.
We've had hotter than normal off and on this summer. But we've had way more than normal rain. I'd be so happy to share with California and others.

I managed to venture out today as I had to send my old receivers back to Directv. OMG by the time I got home my eyes were stinging from the smoke. I even had my AC on in the car to recirculated air. I knew when AT&T bought Directv it was not going to bode well for me. They said I had 2 old receivers (spare bedroom and kitchen that I take in the RV) that I needed to send back and they will replace them. I upgraded to the Genie at the beginning of the year so far it has been ok. So they sent me 2 Mini Genie's. OK Beware these do not work in my RV as they need the Big Genie sheesh. So after much research on the internet I ordered an H24 receiver, cancelled the 1 Mini Genie. So this idiot says it will be $99 for the receiver (OK my bad I should have requested that with my initial contact) $65 for VIP install $35 for handling...............so I said cant I just install it myself. He said NO I am like well It is only 3 cables 1 directv, 1 power cord, 1 HDMI I can do it. So I told him forget the whole order, will just go to Dish. Oops, asks me to hold on, comes back he has waived all the fees except for the cost of the receiver and gave me a $25 credit. So now my bill is $74 okay I can work with this. Oh hell no, I look online at my account and it says $248 WELL the idiot ordered me an H24 receiver AND an HD24DVR ($199.00). I DONT NEED A DVR I have the dang Genie. So now I have to call and of course I get someone with limited English. She says " Okay I cancel order" I am like NOOOOOOOOOOO so I had to spell out cancel HDDVR keep HD receiver and I still have to have it installed by a VIP installer at NO CHARGE to me. SO I looked at my account and so far it looks correct, we will see what Thursday brings ha ha ha day of my VIP installation...sheesh.
Who knew this would be that hard. Now I just hope this receiver works in my MH otherwise I am done!!!!

Hey Karen --
We use "old" receivers in our motorhome without incident. The trick, however, is to make sure you turn it on every month or it'll need to be reset.
Because we get Los Angeles channels for our major networks, even though we're in So. Orange Co., we don't have to worry about being less than 250 miles from home in order to see L.A. news. You might find that you'll have issues with the major networks if you travel outside of that 250 mile range. Time will tell.

I'm in Eugene, OR, and got my new steps installed this morning. I drove down from Port Stevens SP in Astoria yesterday and then decided to visit an urgent care facility about my dark urine. I am a kidney stone former, but there has been no pain with this episode. Anyway, the urgent care people said I really needed to go to the emergency room because they could not do a cat scan. Long story is they found blood in urine but no infection. Very large kidney stone in left kidney, but not sure it is the cause. Anyway, while there, they did the usual blood tests and discovered my potassium level was extremely high, sooooooo, an IV with some meds to lower it. Except I never got all the meds because they then sent me to cat scan. Anyway, they ended up, after 6 hours, saying it had probably been a lab error!!! In the meantime, they were panicking becuase high or low potassium can be very serious and cause arrhythmia, etc. So I went through an IV and a few meds for a lab error.
Got out and spent might in Fleetwood lot, but all the hookup sites were full, and it was very late, so I ran generator and AC for half an hour and then went to bed. Whew. Was supposed to go to LePage Campground on Columbia River today for 10 days, but it is supposed to be 110 there on Wed and Thurs, so I found another place down here where it is only going to be 98. I'll leave here around noon on Thursday and head for the inferno, which will cool down for the weekend.
I don't know how those of you who live in the California Central Valley or desert southwest manage in the heat. Anyway, hope you all have ways of staying cool.

Manage? It's tough. Basically, you have to have the a/c running 24/7 for about five months. Think $$$

Who knew it would be hard? Shoulda asked me.
Dealing with AT&T for me, has
ALWAYS a been a major pain. Customer
No-Service is dependably, and unfailingly, completely and totally absymal.
It gives me heartburn just thinking about those times in the past I have had to deal with AT&T.
Be sure to check your bill. Trust me on this: if they can screw you, they will. My personal opinion is that they make it so extremely difficult to deal with them that many people just "eat it" when they find an $$error$$, because it's not worth the hassle of dealing with AT&T in trying to straighten things out.
I believe they make it hard on purpose, just for this reason.

No one will believe me, but I've had excellent customer service from AT&T. Don't get me started on Verizon, though.

I believe you Beth because I love Verizon and have had great customer service so it just depends on the history you have. As a travel nurse I had different phones at various times. AT&T was the one I started out with cant remember what is was called before AT&T but had it for years. Then realized there was way better out there. Had Sprint and Verizon phones at the same time. Sprint was the absolute worst, even worse than AT&T.
Anne, I watch my bills like a hawk believe me.
Laura, I had to return these really old receivers because they are going to stop transmitting to them soon. I have had them a long time. I just take the receiver out of my house into the MH. I have had to do a refresh here in the house because unless I have company I dont very often use the one in the guest bedroom. I used to get East coast AND west coast feeds but they quit that and made you pick one but I dont have an RV account anymore so I get the locals at home but not when out of my spotlight. I have an antenna for the local channels or my internet or I do without.
Judy where is Eureka Oregon. I have never heard of it, tried to google but kept giving me Eureka CA and I know you arent down there.
It is a really funny day as I did a review on Amazon and they either didnt like it or felt sorry for me

Duh--Eugene, OR. Home of REV factory service. They are the people who bought Fleetwood and a bunch of other manufacturers, like Monaco, Holiday Rambler, etc. I had them fix the slide and refasten my kitchen cabinets to the slide because dealers would not tackle it. Course slide roller broke again, but this time they put metal plates inside the slide to fasten the roller onto and under the slide, then bolted it through. (Roller attaches to floor, but particle board would not hold it.)
