Gmorning all :)

Wow, wedding pix from Liz, good way to start the day, so if you haven't seen them, get to it:) Thanks for posting Liz!

Well, nothing much going on here, so will talk about the weather--I can relate to HOT! So hope y'all are finding ways to keep cool. And yes, still pretty dang warm here, but as one of you said, not complaining. Safe from fires here, & hasn't rained in a couple weeks, so also safe from floods. Glad some of you in CA got a bit of rain.

My house guests went home yesterday afternoon. Strange how I could get "used to" another dog & 2 cats & then feel their absence after just 7 days:)

Wishing y'all a great day!

Morning Carolb. Thanks for the compliment about my starting MC the other day, but you do a great job and I love it when you get things started too. You will have plenty of practice in a week or so when I haul out again and then in August when I haul out for a good one maybe two weeks  Forgot about your "house guests" being there with you. I guess once we have a couple of furry babies around, what's a couple more. When they leave you just miss the emptiness and the companionship they provided for that short time.

Nothing much shaking here either. Am ready to hit he road again, but reservations not starting for another week, plus want to give my 'house on wheels" a good cleaning inside and out, swap out a few things in the pass through storage etc. Thinking of painting the inside of my little bathroom in there, but not sure when that's gonna happen. It's next on the remodel list. Have to decide on the color. Maybe "hot pink" I think not! Did get caught up on yard work and the house is cleaned, so that's the big news for today

Am however going to be heading for a dangerous place in a little while. It's called "Camping World". Guaranteed to relieve you of some "green" before you walk back out the door  Need a few items for the trailer. Seems like we always need a "few items".

So off to get cleaned up, dressed and hit the road to "do the deed" and part with my wallet. Have a great day all. :D

Good Morning All, Yesterday was a busy day stressful day for me and DH but Emma went on an adventure with her friends. The day turned out well though, DH got a good report from the doctor! Thank goodness he only has to go once a year now. I sent Emma to the trainer for the day and she got a good report for being a good girl. I received this picture mid afternoon and had no idea where they were but found out later she took them all to her hair appointment!! They were all three perfectly behaved for over an hour.

Bj, I am so glad that your stressful day had a "calmful" ending. We all know that some doctor appt have more potential impact to our futures than others. And then we proceed on feeling lighter but carrying with us the over all acknowledgement that today is what we have.....

I love that Emma is learning the life and manners of a dog that can be welcomed anywhere.

Hope everyone finds some joy in their journeys today.

BJ, I bet that place has kids come in that aren't that well behaved. I'm not sure if Harold's dog is hard of hearing or just doesn't want to hear me. I finally figured out that if he leaves before I get the leash on him if I just stand there he will come back to me.

I got most of the mowing done yesterday. Yesterday they were saying today we had an 80% chance of rain but I think they missed that.

Today is my grandson's 16th birthday. He can start taking driving lessons. I hope he is a better driver than his mother. I have seen her do some things that scare me. I made my youngest take a defensive driving course. At the time I didn't think much sunk in but he is actually a good driver. When I took drivers ed it was in school and free. Now kids have to pay for a course and have to get a learners permit first, drive for 6 months with an adult and no violations before they can get their license. The DMV won't even give out books anymore. You have to go online and print it or pay the library to print it for you. If my dad would have had to pay $300 to $450 for me to take a driving course I wouldn't have gotten a license until I paid for it myself.

I need to call the post office and see if a letter that has to be signed for is out to be delivered or if they have it. I don't know if they will look that up for me or not.

Martha

Very hot and humid in mid-Minnesota. Temp, dew point and humidity all at same level. House is sealed up and ac running. Breezie had an allergic reaction to damp moldy leaves in the compost heap 6 weeks ago ( she sneaks in there whenever she can escape my watchful eye). She has been on Benadryl and cough syrup ever since. At age 16 her immune system isn't functioning up to par. At first her cough was so bad and so loud (John counted 100 coughs in one hour) that I thought we were going to have to make that awful decision now. But her vet said her heart, lungs good and she has lots of life left in her if we can just get the allergic reactions treated. She does much better in the ac so I only make her go out for potty breaks. In nicer weather I try to get her out when I am out. She is totally deaf so I like her to be outside where the visual sightings keep her alert. Then if my anxiety level isn't high enough the great state of Minnesota decided to audit our business taxes to make sure we are complying with all sales tax laws. Now we are such small fish in the ocean I am sure they would be more efficient in collecting revenue by auditing the big guys. Yesterday I panicked because I could not find an envelope and an hour later I found it on my desk under my elbow! It was time to take a break When I get frustrated I find good therapy is weeding the garden but it was way too hot to be doing that. Hopefully we will get a comping weekend soon.

Good day to go out to lunch today. Starting to heat up to those dreaded triple digits.....of course it is, our County fair opens today. Every year I want to go and then it is too dang hot.......sigh.

Going to lunch with my friend Malia. Some of you know her and follow her blog. She has landed here in southern Oregon to establish residency after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. She wants to avail herself of the Death with Dignity law we embrace here in Oregon as a resident So sad for sure as she is in her late 60's and looks fantastic. Has some shortness of breath at times and some low energy days. I recommended a couple of doctors for her here and she has appointments coming up next week for a second opinion and a Family practice doc. I am hoping for the best for her.

My Bone Density test came out NORMAL....yay Now I dont have to fight with my doc over me not taking the meds. The tech was asking about my fractured elbow. I said nothing spontaneous about it, tripped, fell down went boom........healing great right now. She just laughed. I agree with Martha in that this drug is great...wait no its not. These foods will kill ya....wait no they wont they are good for ya. I eat whatever I want just in moderation. I figure I am going to die anyway sooner or later so might as well enjoy the last of my time on this earth by eating some darn good food LOL

Good morning from another warm day in N. Central CA.

Karen I have never met Malia but have read some of her blog. So sad to hear this news. Wasn't she from Texas before she went full time?

She was from Texas. She's a wonderful woman... She was the person hiking with me when I got heat stroke. She's handling all of this with a wonderful grace and attitude.

Man, I agree with you 100% Karen.

I think that this is why "dieting" generally doesn't work. Whenever I need to "lose a few" I just keep eating whatever I want - just less of it. Including sweets. Works, and has worked, every time. Since I am still eating what I like, I never feel "deprived" and thus never feel the urge to "binge" on things I have cut out of my diet. Because I never cut anything out.

Another cool and breezy day at Pacific Beach. I have been working to get as much of my work done as possible before my kids come tomorrow, but I am also trying to go through some of the booklets I brought back from the UK. (Like a whole small suitcase full.) I am going to get my bike out and ride to the post office to get a couple of boxes I can pack up and send to my Ohio son's house, which is where I store the few things I have left after cleaning out my storage locker two summers ago. Mostly, I have about 10 large plastic bins of photos, family stuff, and travel souvenir stuff there in his very large basement.

I am trying to lighten what I cart around with me, especially since I worry a lot of being overweight--the RV, not me. Do you know that this full-time RVing lifestyle has been very healthy for me? Since I started out in June, 2012, I have lost a total of 46 pounds without dieting? I eat smaller meals more often because of my IBS, and it has really helped. I also did a lot of walking in the UK. I have been donating clothes left and right this spring.

I had tried dieting for 30 years previously, and as pointed out, it never worked. Nibbling and grazing and eating what you want DOES work, at least for me.

It is warm again here today but very breezy which helps quite a lot. Less humid today too.

Worked this morning up until 2pm. Need to do a few small projects around here. Tomorrow, my handyman is coming by to put in my AC unit. I actually slept pretty good last night in my bedroom with the fan on tho.

Bought stuff to make BLT's yesterday so I think I will go make one right now. Sounds good!

Enjoy the rest of your day! :D

Had a great lunch and good talks with Malia. We then went shopping at Home Depot. She wanted to get some flowering plants for around her RV. We also had lots of laughs. We were laughing over whether she should get annual plants or be an optimist and get perennials...cracked us up. She has an awesome attitude and I am interested to hear what she finds out with her consult next week.

Thanks for sharing about Malia, Karen. I just read some of her blog - what a beautiful soul! It's a good reminder to each of us that we know not the day nor the hour - live life, cherish our loved ones & each other & trust that God will be with us through it all.

I enjoyed my trip of a lifetime - cruising the Meditteranean with son, daughter-in-law & my precious Olivia. We definitely overdid the excursions -went out every single day, but wouldn't have wanted to cut out any of them. Olivia was a trouper, making friends everywhere we went. I loved the nights when she asked to stay in 'Grandma's room' & we went up to breakfast by ourselves while her parents slept. I'll post some pics once I get my act together.

After a warm day, it's actually very pleasant outside. Time to turn off the A/C & turn on the fans. :)
