Another hot Saturday in Florida...

Good morning everyone one... as the title for today says hot in Florida .. I'm camping with about 16 ladies from RV women in Florida group we are at Silver Springs State Park... I think I will not be camping very much in the summer here in Florida... I have been very busy doing things around the house and playing in the community pool going out to eat and doing some sewing... Will not be going north this summer so I'm trying to find things to do but keep me cool... a bunch of ladies went kayaking this morning I could not go ...I think my kayaking days are done because of my back... They are going on the glass bottom boat at 1 for an hour and a half Cruise but again I can't go because of my back... So that's about it for me have a great day and B safe...

Sorry to hear about your back issues Donna. What is going on with that? Hope you can find some relief for that so you can do fun things again.

Cloudy here this morning but will probably burn off later. I am thinking of taking a break from house projects today and taking a drive up into the mountains to Julian for the afternoon. Haven't been there in a long time. It is a cute old gold mining town that is now famous for their apple pies.

Yesterday was the 11 year anniversary of my mom's passing. Hard to believe it has been that long. I sure miss her but I feel her around me a lot still. I am sure she will be riding shotgun with me up to Julian as that is the kind of town she would have loved to visit.

Hope you all have a great day! :D

I wish there was a pool I could go to without having to camp at a campground. I told my son and his girlfriend that we could camp at one of the places with a water park but they haven't taken me up on that. The Louisiana group is at a state park this weekend that has tubing and kayaking. It's the other side of Baton Rouge and I didn't feel like going that far. Next month we might camp at one of the casinos that have a water park.

Yesterday I got 2 40 pound bags of cat food and forgot to get dog food. I got half the yard mowed. Hopefully it won't decide to rain today and I can finish.

A bit after morning here but just had to share my good news! I’ve been thinking camping was out this year because of my old guy and his not being able to get into the RV. He’s having problems with his back legs and not able to get up on the things he’s always gotten up on. After a bunch of brainstorming I went to good ol’ Amazon and found a telescoping ramp. Finally took it out and set it up on the steps into Lola and after much coaxing both dogs went up and down it! They still aren’t real sure about it so need lots more practice but I am thrilled they at least did it! I started the engine and I think they both thought I might leave without them! It’s going to be a bit of a pain setting it up all the time but oh so worth it!

Nothing else exciting from here. Just trying to get things in the yard kept up between rainstorms! It is very wet here and been cool the last few days. Heat and humidity supposed to move in again this coming week. It’ll be time to close the windows and turn on the ac!

Barbie, when I had the smell in my RT refrigerator I tried everything to get rid of it and someone suggested cutting an apple in half and putting it in it with some charcoal. I never got to that but might be worth a try! Something about the enzymes in the apple.

Ok, time to get back to work! Have a great day!

Had a nice day trip up to Julian. The drive up there was very pretty! Lots of twists and turns along the way. The speed limit was 55 the whole way up and I felt that was too fast. I pulled over a couple times to let people get around me. Shopping was fun in all the little shops in town. Just picked up a couple little things. It was very warm there so I was glad I wore shorts. It was only 65 and cloudy in Vista, but sunny and low 80's in Julian. Stopped in one of the cafes for lunch and then brought home some fresh made apple crisp.

House was cold when I got home this evening so I closed the windows and turned on my space heater for a bit. It was a fun day. :D
