Really Dull Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Really Dull Tuesday

Postby JudyJB » Tue Jun 05, 2018 10:12 am

OK, it must be a really dull day because no one has posted yet, so I will start it out. I realize we all have very dull lives, but who has the dullest??

I qualify because I slept in this morning until 10:30 am and have only been out of my hotel room once, to get a Pepsi from the bar downstairs. The view outside my window is of a "car park." Really behind on the work that pays for all of my crazy traveling so not going out at all today. I am going downstairs later to get some dinner because I have little other choice. (Miss my refrigerator, but the bed here is very comfortable.)

So, who has the dullest life among us?? Any volunteers for this competition?

Staying inside a hotel room all day is definitely dull, no matter where you are.

Listening to meditation tapes and then laughing when I looked around the room, all three dogs were sound asleep! a rare moment indeed! Trying to get caught up with 2 weeks of neglecting chores while I coughed. Martha are you over your cold? Judy why aren't you having a lovely breakfast!! Don't they have scones and brown bread? I would fall over having only a coke and no food way before 10:30!

Normally my life is very dull, but am finishing up packing today for my trip tomorrow.

So far, my wrist feels better this morning. I wore the splint all night. It is just certain movements that are very painful so I have to be careful about picking up anything heavy or twisting it at all. I have always had issues with my joints but it seems to be getting worse as I get older now. :(

Cloudy today but it has been warming up here into the 70's.

Barbie did you finish the hypnosis class your were taking? Could you be working with people doing that part time? Your body sounds like it wants a change.

Dull here too! But i was up an hour early today only because i woke up and my brain said it was a new day. Had to go with daughter for a procedure at outpatient surgery today. She has a pinched nerve in her neck and they did an epideral. They do a little twilight sleep for this and i kept Jack and drove her home afterward. Didn't take long, and im already back home. Will hang out under the air conditioner and be happy it works well.
Ya'll enjoy your day.

I have been up late every night with students so I slept through breakfast. Had some leftover sandwich for lunch. Dinner is right now.

Cleaning my closet and purging my work clothes that I haven't worn since I retired. I'm wondering if Goodwill will even want them.

Yay! The credit check from the cabinet company arrived yesterday. This was to make up for the delays and problems in ordering materials for the cabinet reface job. I’m happy they were willing to step up and make things right. I don’t believe all companies would do that. I definitely learned a new skill. The project manager asked me what they could do to make up for the problems and delays they caused during the job. I’m terrible at negotiating and would normally be afraid they might think I was asking for too much. I started out asking if they could give me a credit. He agreed and asked how much I thought would be fair. In my old life I would have been afraid to ask for an amount that might be considered high and be embarrassed if they said it was ridiculously too much. I kind of hemmed and hawed while he waited for an answer. I took a deep breath and decided to go for it and said $1,000. Wow! It worked. He got it approved and I received a check for $1,000 via FedEx yesterday. So the job if officially done. I’m thrilled and am happy to recommend the company. They did a beautiful job and showed they care about the quality of their work and will step up and make things right if they fall short in any way.

My excitement for the day is to deposit that check!

Not terribly dull here, because we had to run over to the vet. All the annual spring checks and vaccinations. It's always fun seeing Melissa, and Drew cajoled cookies out of everyone there. Of course, now I'm really poor!

BJ, yes I finished the course at the end of December, but between working on the house and being sick/injured, I haven't done much with it. I am starting to go over my workbook and notes now and when I get back will start finding people to practice on until I feel comfortable doing it for money.

Sun is coming out now and am almost done packing. Off to work shortly.

Hello ladies!

Wow, all of you have been busy and not having boring lives. Barbie, have on your trip and check in as you can.

We left 8:30 this morning for the two hour trip to Lakeland for another dentist appointment. This was an appointment for pictures, measurements and other lab work for the preparation for the construction of my zirconium teeth. Actually, today was the day we had planned on leaving to start heading north and my dentist begged me to stay, if we had any wiggle room, to finish the last portion of this procedure. We finally agreed and they agreed that because of the confusion, they would squeeze me in to make what would have been an almost 8 week ordeal into about 4. The church I play for in Ocala loves that we'll be around longer and the church in MD is wondering when we'll be back.

Dull Day contribution...... I went back into work 8 hours today. My original project is completed but this particular state seems to trickle in additional papers after the main project is completed. Most of the readers went on to another project. I didn’t sign up for the next project because a couple of dates conflicted with times I knew I had already committed myself to a dog show/s. It worked out great actually because I have still be able to pick up additional hours since I am one of the few Team Leaders still available to come in and help with “clean up”, I did go ahead to the doctor appointments that I had scheduled for Monday but came in afterwards. Will pick up some more hours at work tomorrow and then prepare for the weekend shows. I am also relieved to report that the acupuncture appointment yesterday does seem to have have had a positive affect on the back and leg pain I ‘ve been dealing with. The dogs will be happier if I am willing to go on long walks and hikes with them.

Irmi, glad that the dentist was willing to work without for a long awaited outcome! And it is nice to be appreciated by both churches for the talents you share to the church community.
