It’s Morning and it’s Wednesday

A hearty Good Morning all. Sun is out, but so are some clouds. Looks like rain late today. We could use some again.

O’Sharon, you sound like me, a bit of this here, a bit of that there as far as chores are concerned. Barbie, I have friends who put powered coffee cream on their ant hills and they tell me, the ants vamoose. Might try it and see. Martha, glad you are going to survive. Some of these “bugs” going around are hard to shake off. Speaking of bugs, we have mosquitos driving us crazy

now. Even my fur kids don’t want to stay outside. Judy, doesn’t sound like fun driving around in that weather over their.

Not sure what’s on the agenda today. Want to go visit a friend, but have to see if she’s going to be home first. Got my yard trimmed and mowed yesterday and my TT ovver to the dealers here for dewinterizing, roof cleaning/sealing, bearings check etc. May have to get a job to pay the bill  Renovation project is done except for some trim in a couple places and staining. Will post pictures later. Now to order a mattress topper.

Okay, enough jabbering here. Have a nice day everyone.

I think there is might be a need for a new thread..."The secret life of a forum lurker." Ever look at the number of readers to the threads compared to the number of actual posters? I do because I most often fall in the lurker category. Then I remind myself that everyday is part of my journey even when I am not in the middle of a lengthy exploration of Scotland or the West or the redecorating of my house or garden. It is the enjoyment of the everyday small adventures of living that keep me going. Sooner or later I might make it back to the big expeditions.

I won't tell you about how I cleaned the house but I do spend time and energy keeping the dogs groomed. I make myself go to work to earn the money to keep dreaming of more far flung travel and, of course, more dog show entries and vet bills. And I dream of future travels that might let me rejoin some of you around a campfire, on a hike, around a dining table (or card table) in the future.

I know may of you are out there reading because your posts do show up to acknowledge birthdays, serious illnesses and "sad" days when death touches our lives. Know that you are thought of often.

This particular forum is quickly approaching its tenth anniversary, (Though a few members have know each other longer from another site/s.) We have lost some chairs around the campfire to Facebook but I have always thought of the conversations here as quieter and more connected and more personal. So lurk or check in from time to time but do know that you are all a part of the adventures, laughter and memories that many of us have had and hopefully will be a part of future memories yet to be made.

At a time when it is difficult to keep up with family members, old classmates or past co-workers it should not be surprising that keeping in touch with a such diverse individuals as this group is made up of, is farther down our "might do today" list. But know that you are thought of....

Good morning Sue, Tina & all!

Tina, that was a wonderful post, and I too, often times, fall in the lurking column. It's hard to find things to talk about when we're stuck inside because it rains most of the time, and rain it has. For fourteen straight days we had an inch of rain and yesterday we had two inches. Unfortunately we have to go out in the rain today because I will have a CT scan of my head and after that will go to an appointment with a cardiologist to have a monitor put on. I've had a few fainting spells and have fallen flat on my face and had serious bruising and black eyes and I'm a sissy when it comes to pain and would love for them to stop.

Have a super day, whatever you are doing!

Thanks for the Post Tina... I too have some time lapse into a lazy lurker... Not sure if anybody wants to hear about my everyday life right now because I got a major leak and it's just about destroyed one of my windows I got gutters put on yesterday they are doing the job they're supposed to do ...got neighbors 10 ft ladder to check it out but somehow I still have a leak I can see where it's going I even did some caulking on the windows but I have to explore it further I can see that... well enough about that... I will try and do better in post about some of my Adventures

Hello Everyone!! Still 10 minutes left of morning , but I'll just hope all have had a good morning. Mines been good , raining hard downpour for most of it but I can always fill my time. Had to rearrange my plans but I do that good too :D

Tina, you really said " it all", really well !! I'm in the lurker category too, still unpacking boxes, how newsy is that? Except to let everyone know what a pokey person I am in this moving in job :D Some were packed so long ago it's fun to open the surprise package! I'm hoping to come across a couple of items I find I'd like to have,, those I need, Wal Marts handy enough.

I'm really liking my home, miss my mountains but my home here is laid out really more suitable to me and only difference other then floor plan is all rooms except master bath in here are all smaller which suits me. Not as much room to collect clutter  I have been managing to mow yard without injuring myself as I did in April too, which is saying a lot for clumsy me ;)

No real news here, my planned trip to library has been postponed, because of this hard rain. My card entitles me to access 5 libraries in not to large an area , so my fun excursions have been to libraries! Now before you begin to think that might be oh so pathetic, I must tell those who don't know I spent many a year enjoying each day I went to work in my local library. So these are really great adventures to see what I might find on the shelves :) I have no tv unless I play their videos which their shelves have a wonderful collection, I'm able to see all the movies through the years I missed at the theaters plus series that have been on tv. Can't pick up local tv out here and I'm so satisfied with videos, in the fall when I'm back from my trip west, may not be in any hurry to connect to cable or whatever. And I have enjoyed their large collection of large print books that I like reading at night. I do need to get a better reading lamp.

Now some of you have gathered the real reason I'm not done with this moving job! I've tried to be good and only enjoy my fun things in the evening hours but as we all know good intentions don't always pan out

I've set here long enough time to move. I'm hanging around just don't always have anything to say. Okay no comments from those who know me and how my mouth can constantly run   take care everyone!

CArol

I too miss some of the members who used to be on here. Wish they would come back (if you are lurking, you know who you are!). We miss you all!

Cool and cloudy again here today. Supposed to warm up this weekend and get sunny again. Am really hoping things cool off in Minnesota next week! Been in the upper 90's and even hit 100 degrees the other day! So rare for May especially!. The ice on the lake just went out 3 weeks ago there. They literally went from winter to summer overnight! Looks like the temps there will be coming down some tho for my trip which will be nice!

Got the kitchen cleaned and reorganized yesterday. Looks so much better! I still have a strong smell in two of the lower cupboards that I cannot get rid of. I have tried everything to get rid of it. I had thought it was a dead animal smell awhile back but it is just those two cupboards and there are no holes or places for an odor to come in from somewhere else. It has been there since I moved in. They are just below the (electric) stovetop but I don't see how that could be the source either.

Have had some young Mexican kids coming into my back yard wanting to fish in the creek. I told them it was private property and that it is very dangerous to be climbing along the steep banks. They were reluctant to leave but finally did. I called the manager the first time but he wouldn't come over. He said to call the police so I did but they never showed up, which is typical out here. They only show up for "real" crimes.

Have a few leftover things to take care of around the house here, laundry, and cleaning up the debris outside. Then off to work later this afternoon.

Have a good day! Irmi, I hope your tests go well!

Great post TIna. i miss several people who used to post and I still laugh when I hear the song or think of Little Bunny Foo Foo. I can't remember how long some of us have been on this forum and the previous one but pretty sure over 15 years. I joined shortly before Sparkle broke her foot or leg,

I'm where Martha was yesterday, I finally think I might live. This has been the worst episode of a summer cold. I started on the 6th box of Kleenex today!! I've only been out of the house 3 times in 9 days and then it was to go to Urgent Care. PA I saw Sunday didn't even look in my nose throat or ears! Just acted as though I was annoying him. He did listen to my lungs said they were ok and what did I want!! Went back on Tuesday and the woman took one look and said oh my!! She gave me an antibiotic and I am sick enough that I am taking it!

Barbie, I've had really good luck with pouring corn meal over ant hills cheap enough to try.

I’m a lurker too and just don’t post when my life is so boring. Since I finished my cabinet reface project, life is back to doing nothing at the moment. In a little over 3 weeks I’ll be heading up toward Oregon and am really looking forward to getting back on the road. I need to get busy and plan some other trips for the summer and fall. I too miss many of those who don’t post anymore. Sure wish we could hear from them.

Well said, Tina. I prefer the forum to FB. I believe, over time, friendships made here, are deeper. And for you newbies lurking, speak up. I'd love to get to know you, too. Those FB posts with hundreds of responses lose me.

O'Sharon, Pepsi showed up yesterday morning with a bunch of excuses. I'm working on a contingency for dinner products because I don't believe Pepsi won't screw up again.

Off to Mt. Rushmore later, including the lighting ceremony tonight with my sister and brother-in-law. And yay, Cheryl just texted she'll join us.

A lot of days I fall into the lurker category. I don't feel like my life is very interesting most of the time. I know anyone can read this forum but it feels more personal than Facebook. Hard to believe some of us have known each other over 10 years. I can't tell about my house cleaning because there doesn't seem to be much of that going on. The vacuum spent 2 days in the living room floor before I got around to using it. I kept telling myself that I was going to get up in the middle of the night and trip over it but that didn't get me moving. I thought someone was going to come with some papers for me to sign yesterday so I got the cat hair off the carpet.

I might have spoke too soon about living. Last night was a rough one. As soon as I lay down I start coughing. I tried to sleep in the recliner but CC and Frosty wanted to sleep with me and that wasn't working. My son reminded me that I have an adjustable bed in the other room. I forgot about that. It is full of clothes I have pulled out of the closet trying to get rid of some. I have one bag to go to town.

I just got back from the lawyer's office. I finally have the paper I need to be able to sign for the estate.

Barbie, the police will be able to come out when one of the kids falls in the creek. I know over the years we have had to watch out about making people get off our property. You don't know that they might come back and destroy something. When we had the trailer in the trailer park there were kids that were getting on top of our porch and running into the trailer with their bikes. The manager told me to call the police instead of doing something about them. After the third trailer got pulled out of there because of those kids then their family finally got evicted.

Donna, hope you can get your leak stopped. Our double wide leaked from day one and the company would only reluctantly send someone for the first year. They never did stop it and it ended up ruining the microwave. We put a metal roof on it and it was only about 3 years old. At least that stopped the leak.

Irmi, you need to get a helmet to wear around. I would be afraid to get a CT scan of my head because it might show that there is nothing in there. I am suppose to be keeping a log of my blood pressure but that has been pretty spotty. Hope they can find your problem.

They just called to tell me they are bring the truck back. That has been a week long ordeal. Friday they were bringing it and then they weren't. Same thing Monday and yesterday. I didn't care how long they kept it I just don't want to have to sit around waiting for them to decide what they are going to do.

Martha

My name is Shirl and I’m a lurker. It isn’t morning coffee more like midnight snack. Tina you posting hit a nerve. I was dressed to go to the grocery store thought I would check messages before I left. I was wearing my favorite “ Rving Singles” tee shirt and jeans. Rv has been sold but that tee shirt is special. Never thought about it before but wondered if the gray haired, wrinkled woman would be stared at wear this shirt. Forgot it was Wednesday and the store was full of gray haired wrinkled people that probably couldn’t read the shirt without their glasses. I remembered the store list on the fridge hung there with the Rving Women magnet. :D Some Old Rvers no longer travel but we remember.

I have been on here over 8 years I think. I feel like you all are family.

To those lurkers who no longer have an RV, I don't either right now but still like to stay in touch here. We are more than just RVers. We are women, friends, etc. too. We share a lot more than just our camping adventures. I hope more will start posting more.
