Winter Storm Saturday

Morning all. Winter Storm is battering us with wind, snow, ice, you name it. Nasty out there. And Pat, I’m sure it has hit you by now too. I’m guessing 6 inches at moment. This is a bit ridiculous as May is two weeks away.  Supposed to warm up after this storm, to a point. Pine branches are really hanging down. I’m sure there will be power outages before it’s over. Hopefully mine will stay on. Be trees down too probably. Pines are very resilient, but given too much weight on their limbs, they can break like a toothpick. Supposed to let up this afternoon before second wave tonight, so will go deal with what’s out there as it’s heavy, so better done in stages. Even the girls refuse to go out. Pat, there was a prom cancelled in one of the town’s up here too.

Wow Beth, you weren’t kidding about it he wind gusts. Hope it’s past you know. Wondering about Toni, who last reported from AR. Hope she’s safe and reports in as lots of tornado activity last night. Now moving east. Keep safe those in the path. Weather Channel has been saying that bicycle helmets are good to help handy in case of tornadoes, to protect your head. They have saved people from head injuries, who have been in one.

Time to move along here, make bed or try too as it’s occupied by furry body right now  Then off to craft project. Takee care and have a nice day all.

The worst is over here... Gusts down to 30 mph. I'm going to move back to Brush... That 10 mile long drive LOL to join my friends there today. But not in any hurry this morning. It's COLD outside lol

Stay safe... This is a nasty storm. And the tornados and dust storms... Geez!

Yes Sue, it's here! Started about 1:30 this morning and supposed to continue until between 8 and 10 tonight. So far we have kept power. Some of the rural electric companies have pulled their crews for safety reasons. The majority of the state is under a no travel advisory. Interstates are closed. Happy Spring. :x

I sure don't miss all that! Hopefully, this will be winter's last hurrah for you all! What a long winter it has been for everyone. :(

Sunny with a high of 78 today here.

Only woke up twice last night so that is an improvement. Very sore this morning tho. Have an appointment with my tax lady to file an extension on my taxes. Then off to work this afternoon. Yesterday I stopped to see my insurance agent and got earthquake insurance added to my policy. You just never know...

I frosted my hair last night, so now after the haircut, it looks really nice again and feels so much better.

As I was sitting up in bed reading last night, I noticed out of the corner of my eye, something fast and fuzzy run across the floor toward my bed! Turns out it was a large centipede! Yikes! I HATE those things! His life ended quickly! I thought it was too dry out here for those things but maybe being by the creek, they like the water. I hope I don't see any more of them, especially in my bedroom! I slept with the light on all night! They really creep me out!

Have a good day and stay safe and warm!

Good grief Pat, doesn't the weather know it's almost the middle of April. We had a line of storms come through early this morning. I haven't heard of any damage down here but some North of Lafayette. I'm glad I got the yard mowed yesterday.

What ever the vet gave Annie has calmed her down a lot. She is back to being my shadow instead of hiding in a closet all the time.

I still haven't fixed my tire monitor system yet. I just hope it hasn't lost all the programing because it has been unplugged for 3 weeks.

Barbie, hope your cats don't eat bugs. If CC can beat me to a bug he eats it. Yuck!

Okay ladies, I need help... The winds are gusting around 40 or more miles per hour so I've decided to stay where I am as it should be better tomorrow however, it's going to be down around 29 degrees tonight so what do I do with my water hose? I have my tank heater and pipe elbow heaters on. I am relatively safe in Foss State Park in Oklahoma. I say relatively because last night there were fires to the right of me and hailstorm and tornadoes to the left and the interstate ahead of me (I-40) closed.

Toni, all you need to do is unhook your water and use your onboard water tank. You're probably safe at that temperature staying hooked up but I don't take chances.

Hello all! Like you gals I'm really ready for spring, we had a fifty degree temperature swing last week and we're going from 78 yesterday down to 27 overnight tonight. Really making me miss Florida!

Hi Mickie and Mary! Miss you guys!

My 11 mile drive was slow as winds picked back up to gusting 45/50 mph. By tomorrow should be gone... By later this afternoon maybe my nose won't freeze walking Peaches. She loves it! Now that I know about that other park so close with the ducks and geese and trails, I might visit it more on my passes through. It's a much busier park, but dependent on time of day with the kids in school.

Guess I can't complain about the cold and rain here in the Northwest! Break today, but more rain tomorrow. I drove out to Bandon and got some goodies from the bakery, so I am in good shape!

Sue and DPF, really, really glad I don't live in Michigan anymore!

Beth, don't race to head north. Really looks nasty up there and wind is bad. And Tonic, the advice to unhook your hose and use water from your tanks is a good one. It will take a VERY long time to freeze your tanks compared to that hose. Just make sure you drain it before putting it away.

Finally, good to see you back, Queen. Any progress in moving to Florida, or have you given that up?

Hey Judy! Mary retired in October, we went back to Florida to sell the condo since early retirement ties us to an HMO in Illinois. So we're back in the cold at least until we turn 65... only 7.5 years for me. :D
