Chilly Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Chilly Friday

Postby Colliemom » Fri Aug 25, 2017 8:02 am

Good morning. Chilly up here this morning. Lows in mid 30's to 40. First time I have seen patchy frost in forecast. Early for that. None here. But warming up after today again. Feeling like fall has me thinking time for fall chores before long. Few things I want to do before cold weather really arrives. But got time.

Not a lot going on today as Molly has vet appt., early afternoon, which breaks up my day. Spent last couple afternoons working on POA properties, cutting out overgrowth, weed whipping and tree trimming etc. Needed some sprucing up after a summer of growing. Now back to my stuff.

Liz, glad to hear you are finally on the road again. CArol, see you are "camped" at your place. When you feel you don't belong anymore, then you know it's time to move on and make memories elsewhere. Hope the neighbors follow through and buy it.

Time to get moving here, so have a nic day everyone :)

Morning, Sue!

Chilly here too, for August. Woke up to 52 degrees, that is more of an October morning temp, kinda weird but I enjoy it as hot weather just wipes me out.

Just some sorting and packing here today. Got another notice from the FL condo HOA mentioning more fees, on the plus side that makes Mary want to sell sooner (yay!). We found a storage place here in IL so I'm working on getting things ready to go there soon.

Good Morning Everyone!! Just wanted to be able to tell someone, " I don't want to be here and most of all don't want to do all this sorting and carting off and vacuuming"". Now I feel better !!! :D

Another issue I'm trying to decide what I should do is, I thought my left ankle was attacked by poison ivy somewhere on our trip west. DIL thought so too, in Mo. Well it's still bothering me and my poor skin looks totally dried out but red and some swelling. Really big issue is I have no dr here, he closed his practice years ago. Small town no walk in clinic either. I'm thinking of contacting friends over in Tn and see if they have a walk in over there. But hate to close up and go anywhere yet, as I know I won't really want to come back to all this. Neighbors haven't been home enough to discuss anything or to even see them. So hoped before I went anywhere would hear something from them and week ends are best for visit with them, so what to do? Hmmm????? Me and decision making have never gotten along .

Well, just looked at my ankle again and sent my friends a text to see if they have a walk in clinic over there, it's a much larger town. Just called yes they do, so gotta get my butt moving and get over there! Glad we had this chat, thanks

Hope everyone has a great day, I feel better after our little chat here,

Stay Safe in whatever your day involves, hope it's fun stuff !!

Good morning ladies
Filled propane yesterday, it was down to a 1/4 tank, last time I topped it off was Bennett Colorado, when I left Strasburg. I think propane is high here, I paid 2.50 a gal or whatever that measurement is they use. Today we go pick up some groceries. Other than that, I continue with yard work. Did cut a big limb off a tree that interfered with mowing. Then cut it up in pieces to fit the yard waste dumpster. Still need to get on the roof and fix that shingle, but I've been putting it off in hopes I can mention that chore when nephew comes down and he will do it. Its supposed to be hot the next few days, most likely a reminder of what I'm facing when I leave. (approx Sept 14, give or take)
Enough rambling, y'all have a great day, be safe, especially you girls in the hurricane area.
( My truck driver friend checked in yesterday he was on his way out of Houston and it was bumper to bumper.)

Good morning gals! It is cloudy here again this morning. Been gray, cloudy and misty for the past couple days. Altho the cooler temps have felt good. Hoping the sun comes out today sometime.

Ava, how do you know what the level is in your propane tank? Is there a way to measure it?

CArol, maybe you have shingles? Just a thought...

Nothing much new here. Too much drama at work with complaining, arguing and backstabbing. Arghh!

Need to work on unpacking yet. Haven't had the time or motivation to do much lately. Have some time this morning before work to do some tho. Need to get on it!

Hope you all have a good weekend!

Just watching the weather trying to decide what we should do. Would be nice to know what Harvey is going to do. We started getting rain this afternoon about 3:00 but not too hard. If our area gets 8" of rain like they are predicting Abbeville will flood again. When the town flooded we were ok except we couldn't get to town for 2 days because of road and street flooding. I might move one vehicle to my son's house and the rest we could put on the hill if we get water.

Poor Harold can't get a break. I went with them to bring him to see the Orthopedic doctor today and his arm is not healing. Now he thinks he needs to do surgery. Why couldn't he have done it last week when Harold was in the hospital. When we got back to the nursing home they were putting one of the black tube things they fill with water to make a dam. I didn't go in to see what the plan was. The dam was along one side and across the back. I don't know if they had water when Abbeville flooded last year. I ask when we brought him there what the plan was for hurricanes. They plan to evacuate to Baton Rouge. I bet that is a night mare, moving 100 nursing home residents.

Barbie, my tank has a gauge on it. That's the one I go by. There is also one inside but I don't trust that one.

Barbie, you can pour hot water over the propane tank. LP, liquid propane, is icee cold. Hot water will make the tank sweat where the LP is.
