Bekki, did you catch up with the gals in Adirondaks? Beth, congrats on your new "home"! What a perfect set-up for you to "bounce" between the north & south of the west coast. Alice, as someone else mentioned, you're finally "where we are," & it's great to hear about your travels. Hope all our other MC friends are doing well.

Morning all. Cool, wet day on the forecast. I'm not complaining. Enjoying the cooler weather and of course, now that I am home, it's cooling off in PA. Can't win for losing sometimes. There's been a lot of rain here this month. The lakes are really high and in central part of state, the farmers haven't been able to even plant crops in some places. Gardners here are dealing with water logged gardens as well.

Errands to run today and then to make some phone calls to gutter replacement places as that's the priority at the moment. Bit of landscaping work on agenda this week. Time to do some projects for this year. Seems like the whole neighborhood is having a project summer in their yards. Lots of improvements going on.

Good morning
got just a little cool very early before sunrise, it felt
good but I did flip the furnace on for a little bit and
went back to sleep. Woke up at sunrise, made my
coffee, opened the curtains to enjoy the critters
morning rituals. The turkeys from next door are right
outside my door this morning. They are very stubborn
about staying home. We're taking a little trip into
town this morning, feed store and grocery store. About
20 miles one way. Tomorrow I go visit a few of the girls
I knew from my old Colorado days.
About time to get dressed and get on with the day.

Good morning everybody... but sure as heck is not cool here and we have not had rain in my area for at least a week now we had some previously that sure help but we need more ...other areas in Florida are getting rain... had a great time with Margie camping at hand Manatee hammock Campground in Titusville Florida... it was pretty well polluted with mosquitoes but we survived... I don't know if any of you seen the painted rock craze it started out west somewhere and it's worked its way to Florida... you paint some colorful rocks and place them where people can find them hopefully they make their day a little happier and we give them a smile... then there are Facebook pages you go to and post that you found them in preferably with a picture if you Google your town you live in or the county you live in you will find a page to post your fines and post that you are painting and dropping them somewhere example would be me... Brevard County rocks... you can go ahead and Google that and see what I'm talking about anyway after all that we did spend some time in the very nice Campground Clubhouse in the air conditioning we painted rocks one afternoon... and another afternoon Margie taught me about ancestry.com because I'm interested in that and I'm going to join work on my family trees... we also went out to eat a few times and had a birthday lunch at Cracker Barrel as it was my birthday and then we had a birthday ice cream cake happy hour amongst a few other things ... did not do much walking because of my foot then next to the last day we were there I tripped over a root and hurt my bad foot...what do I have to do before closing here is gather up what I'm taking to my kids put them in boxes and find room in the RT... last minute few odds and ends to storage unit cram them in nooks and crannies... a couple days before closing I will call the junk /flea market man I ran into and he can come and get the bed the TV and a card table that I'm using in the bedroom right now... I'm still reevaluating what I'm taking with me for the summer probably not as much as I thought I was going to so that will mean more stuffing into nooks and crannies... Margie posted on the GTG page that we are going to spend some time at Hillsborough River State Park in March if anybody wants to join us ...can't wait for the Strawberry Shortcake... all for now..B safe...donna

I am comfortably settled into Heaton Bay Campground near Frisco, CO, at 9,100 feet, plus or minus a few. Been drycamping in a dusty campground last couple of days, but this is paved. Will be here four days. Best part is highs are in lower 70s! I really needed the cooler weather after the 108 at Zion. And, there is a wonderful several mile long bike trail I can use to get to town and do exploring or shopping. But since I picked up a dozen of my favorite EInstein bagels and I still have lots of food, I am good for a few days.

Lots of snow-topped mountains around here. Hardly any shade in campground because trees are small, but lots of those, so feels very woodsy.

Nice to see people starting out on their journey!

Judy, I love that area around Frisco and Dillon! There is a cute little log cabin cafe in Frisco that I have eaten at a couple times! Small but good food!
Is Dillon Reservoir still really low or does it look like it is back up to where it should be?

I think it is a little low, but I have only been here once before, which was about four years ago.

By the way, I spent two nights at Prospector Campground on the other side of the reservoir, but no view of the lake. No hookups, either, and not even a dump station, but great views of the mountains. Heaton Bay is much nicer because you can ride your bike or walk the couple of miles to Frisco. Electric & water sites are $27, and non-electric less. Federal discount, but not quite 50%. Some freeway noise, but incredible views and well-spread out sites. Need reservations for both as very busy on weekends since it is so close to Denver via the Eisenhower Tunnel.

Thanks so very much for posting this, Judy!! I'm going to definitely check these campgrounds out.

I hope to go to visit my daughter in late autumn, she lives in Denver (I live in Northern California, near Sacramento), I haven't seen her since last Christmas. I have been worried about how to bring this visit off, since I have a wonderful Staffordshire Bull Terrier (he is a very sweet dog who goes with me everywhere - I don't leave home without him!). Unfortunately, the city of Denver and many surrounding suburbs have extremely restrictive dog laws, making it illegal for Staffords (a breed of dog that I have owned for nearly forty - 40 - years) to be in the city (or those suburbs).

These campgrounds, being close to Denver, might be the ideal alternative!!
