Well. Wide awake here, so thought I would pop in. Leave day for me. Hprobably why brain is awake. Keeping fingers crossed that no bad weather while I am on road. Time to head north and then west, back to Woodland Campground. Hopefully O'Sharon and I will be able to met up and go to Punxsutawney one day.

Was nice seing this area here, despie the traffic and a lot of commercialism. But it's a mecca for those looking for Amish made goods, food, etc., had a wonderful bus tour of the back roads with a couple stops to peruse some local Amish shops and delicious hand rolled pretzels at one. Hit the smorgasboard afterwards and ate too much. Found the bakery........ :D

Better get back to sleep. Have a great day all.

Good Morning, Sue and Velda. It's going on 2:30 here and I can't sleep. I sure wish I could follow Peach's example and sleep whenever and where ever! Especially because it looks like I'll actually get the day off. At this rate I'll sleep through it lol... And it's supposed to be a great day.

Hope everyone has fun wherever you are.

Geez, what was it with last night, anyway? Glad to know I wasn't the only one with sleeping problems! I saw Sue's post when I was still surfing around at 2:30 in the a.m. Finally nodded off about 3 or so. Up again at 7. Makes for a short night.

Velda, are you ready for the next few days?

Weather.gov (http://www.weather.gov) is saying that it is predicted to hit 110 or thereabouts every day for the bulk of next week in our area. The measuring station is a ways from me (south a bit, on the other side of the Feather), and I know from experience (thermometer always in the shade at my house) that the actual temp is likely to be several degrees above that at my house.

So, around 115 for today, Monday and Tuesday; tapering off to a chilly 108 or so for Wednesday.

Typical California northern central valley weather. Two seasons here, actually: freeze your a--, followed by bake your brains. With not too much in between. Actually, we never much got down to the freeze your a-- part this year. It's all relative anyway: what to us Californios might seem to be freezing weather, you ladies in other parts of the country would probably find downright balmy.

Stay cool, ladies.

Anne

I also was awake, but waited until this morning to post. I finally got to sleep at 2:30 am my time -- Pacific time. I think I was worried about the heat and my son and his family arriving today. They are on their way from Phoenix where they flew in and are stopping at Sedona, hoping to go to SLide Rock, which we took him and his brother to when he was maybe 5. I have a feeling that a hot Sunday is going to mean it will be packed and they won't be able to get in. That place is a lot busier than it was 35+ years ago!

I am off to ride to the end of the shuttle line here before it gets really hot. ONly supposed to be 91 today, which is going to be cool compared to everywhere else in the Southwest! I'll be the "really early birds" take naps or go to bed early tonight!

Liz and I have made it to Watkins Glen State Park for two nights. They only allow two dogs per camper so if anyone asks Liz now has a Havenese named Remi...... BIrdie caught up with us at the last campground and now there are three of us to figure things out and remember all the directions. From our experience sight seeing in DC, I am not afraid to admit that using three brains together seems to work well!

We are in non electric sites and hoping that the weatherman this morning was correct about a cool front moving through this evening. Cell service here appears fine but the over the air channels are a no show for this wilderness.

Hiking tomorrow and then moving closer to the adirondacks.

Well, I slept good last night. Was still sleepy from that anti-itch cream! The bite area looks much better today tho.

Surprisingly, it stayed busy all day at work. I figured with the nice weather and being Fathers Day, that it would have been quiet.

Yes, Beth, I will bring my haircutting kit.

Tonight I spent about half an hour moving the electric brake controller in my car over a few inches. It was right in the way of my right knee. Plus not in a good place for me to see or reach it easily. Now it is out of my knee's way and I can see it much better. My 4th set of side mirrors seem like they will work fine but need someone to help me get them adjusted right.

Just that little time outside, I came in with a wood tick crawling on my neck! Did a stripsearch to make sure there were no other ones, but I keep thinking I can feel them crawling all over me! Hate that!

I work tomorrow and then a few days off. I really want to have most everything done and ready to go by Friday except for last minute things. Then I don't have to feel so rushed the next week. There is always more to do than you think and then it is a panic to get everything done in time.

I ordered an inflatable kayak yesterday and will get that tomorrow. Not a very expensive one but came with good reviews.

Hope you gals get a better night's sleep tonight!

As Anne said, it's toasty here. At 2:40 this afternoon our outdoor weather station which at that hour is shaded a little by the house, read 109! At just after 01 AM, it's still 83 out there. Thank goodness for AC! I'm not pleased our son and I have to drive to sacramento Tuesday and hope our GPS is right finding the new office his Dr moved to last month. Stay hydrated everyone!
