Saturday, June 17

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday, June 17

We had quite a thunderstorm yesterday afternoon! It moved in about 4ish and really dumped on us. I've noticed the last couple of storms we've had have had an interesting pattern with the thunder. Instead of just one loud boom it's like a cluster of booms. I'm sure there's a scientific name for it but I don't have a clue! But kind of interesting.

I finally got the big air conditioner in the window yesterday. Looks like we're supposed to have some more hot and humid days coming up. Having the one in the bedroom has been great for sleeping and now I have one to cool the downstairs.

Barbie, glad you were able to sell your vehicle and get new tires too! Sounds like you're all set to head out soon! Hope the weather holds for Liz and Tina to be able to get the kayaks in the water! And belated birthday wishes to Sue and Linda. Hope you had a nice one.

Church chimes tell me it's noon so I need to get going. Need to take the dog crate back to DIL since she hasn't been able to get up here to get it plus I'd like it off my back porch! Then a run to Lowes. Have a great week end and travel safe.

Cant believe I'm only second poster! Everyone must be out having fun! It's HOT here, nearly 100 and won't peak for another couple of hours. Even hotter tomorrow! 109 yikes. After a scary painful two weeks of back pain for Mel and Drs not knowing what it was, having ruled out broken rib, his endocrinology Dr examined him thursday and said he was sure it was a muscle spasm so gave him Flexeril to take. Yesterday it was still bad but I brow beat him into trying ice on top of Flexeriil. He woke this morning measurably better, he could even put his own shoes on! I am so relieved. still hurting but on road back I think.
Hope all are having a good weekend. Be careful if you have high temps !

Everyone must be out and about today. I did some laundry this morning and dropped several pieces on the road on my way home. Since I don't have a car, I stuff a big plastic bag on the back of my bike, but this time it opened and dumped stuff. I guess I need to fasten it down with bungee straps. Retrieved my items, but will have to wash them again next week.

Turned grades in so have to get ready for next semester, which starts next week. Also need to do some straightening up because my son and his family are coming tomorrow night. They are staying in a hotel, but I will cook out for them once. Only allow charcoal fires here because everything is so burnable, but that is fine for me.

Good evening! Worked all day and it was busy! Nice out during the day but raining tonight. We need it tho. Nothing severe luckily. Cooling off this week too with highs in the mid 70's. Good for working in the camper.

I had gotten a prescription for cortizone cream for my tick bite yesterday but didn't pick it up until after work today. Put some on right away for the itching. Then promptly fell asleep! Got woken up a couple hours later because some friends stopped over. I could barely function! There must be some really strong stuff in that cream! Am still feeling really zoned out yet! Good thing I discovered that now, so I don't use it during the day at work or while driving! I will stick to the over the counter cortizone cream for daytime! Gonna sleep good tonight tho!

Back to work for me tomorrow. Will be my first Father's Day without my dad. :( I think I will get some blueberry pie in his memory, since that was what I always got him for FD and other holidays since he loved blueberries!

Hope you are all having a good weekend! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Hey, Barbie, I desperately need a haircut. If I manage to hold out, can you give me one when you get here?

This has been a very insane year at the store. Finding the right employee/workamper to team with Linda took forever... Until her friend Ken agreed to return, yay. Then the food service... That I wasn't to be involved in. Ha. I'm not trained but am the boss. Luckily I found one great workamper with the two employees I was given. One of the employees gave notice this week. So here I was short handed AGAIN! I found someone who is due to arrive tomorrow or Monday. But the employee who gave notice has been leaving early... Then called in tonight. We just got menus to several motels saying to call and we'll have your order ready... And here we are having to apologize tonight because it's closed. :? Very frustrating. I may have to learn the basics just in case, because this goes against the grain with me. Hopefully she'll work the few shifts she has left! (And I'm not there tonight, but it still bothers me and if I knew how to do more of it, I would have kept it open at least more hours today.)

Cool temps today... Actually beautiful if we didn't have wind most of the day which made it not fun to be outside. I'm hoping for a windless day tomorrow and to spend time outside.
