Left the driveway yesterday and made a long day of it. Some three hundred miles but it means I get to visit with one of my cousins in the area today before I jump up onto the Blue Ridge tomorrow. Just finished taking Lark and Audrey on a walk around the campground and down to the lake (Claytor State Park just west of Roanoke). I enjoyed watching Lark keep grabbing at Audrey's leash to lead her around and remembered back to Audrey's first hikes that summer in Michigan where she spend most of her time pestering Stuart and Remi on the walks. Remi told Audrey he had enough of those first walks at the recent dog show fairgrounds and thought it was Audrey's turn to mentor.
A little too windy to feel a need to get a kayak wet. There will be more opportunities soon, I am hoping. This is a beautiful campground though. Sites are well graveled, fairly level and large. And.....it had CBS over the air so I got to watch the end of Survivors.
Hope most of you can find some good adventures and make some small magic moments!
