Are We Skipping Sunday?

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Are We Skipping Sunday?

Afternoon here in SD ... I went to the store and got stuck there a couple/few hours. At least temps are rising, but clouds are rolling back in now and it looks like rain for the next couple days.

For good news, I believe I have my final worker for this summer. Fingers crossed!

Lol, skipping Sunday, now that's just funny. If I was still working I'd
be inclined to skip Monday though, better yet, skip Friday and move
right into the weekend.
my freezer is just about full now. Will buy fresh along the way. Glass
man comes tomorrow. Hope he comes early. Got my "patio" stowed
in the storage bay, washed my blue tarp this morning as if had some
mud daubers nests on it and I'll get it folded in a bit so I can stow it
in the tool and supplies bay. Just about everything is loaded. Now to
concentrate on cleaning house and packing away all my important
good stuff.
Off to watch tv, enjoy your afternoon.

I had to drive 200 miles today, and decided I better make a last stop at Walmarts to get a very few things. Then, I stopped at Verizon in Topeka to have someone check my cell phone, and made a final stop at Kohls! Anyway, it was a busy morning, and I ended up driving 214 miles to Wilson Lake. Minooka Park is COE and costs us seniors only $9 per night for a gorgeous electric site. Mine is overlooking the lake--actually practically hanging over the lake because it is up high. Glad there is a cement bumper at the rear of my site or I might have to get my chocks out just in case. This is really into the plains now, so very few trees to block the view so it is really pretty with everything extremely green and the farmland full of puddles. Hard to believe this was part of the dust bowl.

Anyway, very few campers here, but many expected on Thursday. I'll be leaving just in time on Friday morning, but I am sure the next one-night campground (John Martin Reservoir) will be packed, as will one of my favorite places, Trinidad Lake SP in Colorado, where I will be Saturday through Wednesday of next week. I guess I am selfish and want all the campgrounds entirely to myself! Summer is coming, and certainly won't be getting that until after Labor Day. At least I am trying to stay in places where sites are at least well-spread apart.

Minooka Park is really beautiful with long views over the lake and across the grassy prairie. I highly recommend it for a cheap, very pleasant stop. The lake is really big, also.

Just got back from our company picnic. Wow! Was it ever cold! 45* with a windchill! :o Brrr! Everyone was all bundled up and going back to their cars to get blankets, gloves, whatever they could find to stay warm. I went back and got a sweater I had in there, to put over the t-shirt and sweatshirt I was wearing, plus my lined raincoat on top of all that! Too bad I didn't take my little Jeep. I still had my box of winter things in there! Really appreciated the heated seats on the way home tho! Two years ago was the first annual picnic and it was 90+ degrees and very humid. Last year it was 75* and perfect! This year felt like barely March weather! So you never know around here. Just glad it wasn't snowing!

Had a good time in spite of the cold. The owners always cook up hot dogs and hamburgers for us. Then they have a drawing for prizes; everything from restaurant gift cards to a 55" TV! I won 2 Twins tickets for the middle of June. Not a huge Twins fan but would like to see their new stadium. One of my co-workers said she would go with me. Should be fun!

Nothing much else new around here. Did my laundry and cut up a bunch of cardboard boxes I had accumulated from stuff I bought and ordered. Otherwise not too motivated with this cold rainy weather

Ava, where are you headed? Have a fun, safe trip!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
