Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday moving on

I really like this park....to bad it filled up last night. And, many, many people have those "dune buggies". That surprised me.
Got to keep heading west tho...Texas is next on my adventure. Lyn

Have a great traveling day, Lyn. I'm busy traveling too, via IPad  Working with the Allstays app to pick out my campground by Gettysburg and then either basing there and doing Lancaster etc., from there or moving over to Lancaster area. One campground I had been thinking of near Lancaster/Hersey area got hit by a tornado earlier this month and got tore up pretty bad, so that's off the list. O'Sharon threw me a couple ideas too.

Anybody want breakfast, I have eggs, sausage and toast, Protein shakes or Blueberries, cantalope or Strawberries here. Then you can stay and help me put up a curtain rod

Happy weekend everyone :)

It looks like the fog has lifted and it's going to be a nice day. Palmetto State Park is so spread out that they let people bring golf carts. They are not suppose to be the gas ones or ATV's. It might be the only Louisiana state park that you can bring one to. There seems to be a lot of partying going on every weekend. Hope you weren't next to some that think everyone likes their music. Lyn, have a safe trip and hope you get to see some Bluebonnets.

I went to Walmart yesterday and as soon as I got home they called me to come get my motorhome. I can't believe how much better it drives and how much quieter it is. I should have put it in the shop before I went to Florida. There was a new squeak I could hear and finally figured out it was coming from the kitchen. lol I probably couldn't hear it before.

CC is watching something out the window. I don't know what he's watching but he is sure interested. The other day two birds were fighting under the carport and almost flew into the window. Posse sure thought she was going to catch a bird but she was inside.

Good morning Everybody. I'm back in Connecticut with the snow and cold. Yuck, yuck yuck. Several people have asked about Kino Bay and I would love to tell them about this little fishing village, but I don't like typing on this little keyboard, so
give me your phone number in a PM and I'll call you.
Lyn, I know you enjoy Cajun food as much as I do and I know you enjoyed meeting up with Martha and Carolyn. You are doing the reverse of my trip home last year.
Ava, it was so exciting to read about your new motor home. I just love the way you persevere until you accomplish your goal. May you have many wonderful trips. Does it have a name? Enjoy today. Peggy

Good morning
I think I finally have all the keys figured on the old lady,
there are seven, some are marked with nail polish but
the locks were kind of stiff. I still have one latch on a
side of the door keeping that one from opening. Will spray some
wd40 into the side and see if that helps.
I'm off to WalMart in a few to get the mattress topper and
pad, and another set of sheets.
I have not taken Maggie out there yet as I want to get a few
things put in that will give her the sense of "smells like home"
The pantry cabinet is very shallow, deep enough though for
larger cans and cereal boxes etc. They measure 3 and a half
inches deep .
Guess I better get rollin before it gets too hot, my ac in the car
is leaking so its blowing hot. Not spending the $$ to fix
Y'all have a great day, be safe.

I have been up and puttering around, so finally got to posting. Even had breakfast and did the dishes, which includes those from last night. It is a beautiful, sunny day, and not too hot. Eastbank is a very quiet COE campground for resting and not doing much. Got a good site on the lake with nice view of the dam, but apparently it is too shallow here for powerboating and the better beach is at the state park on the other side of the lake, so this area attracts only us old folks and people who like to fish. Good deal for $12 per night with water and electric.

I put out some "steel-cut" oatmeal for the birds. I bought it the other day to try it out, except I did not realize it requires at least 20 minutes of cooking on the stove because it is not rolled oats. Anyway, I did not like the mess of cooking it, so it is now going to be bird food. (I usually use regular oatmeal and just cook it in my large ceramic mug in the microwave--much easier and no pan mess.) Going to be here for more than a week, which will give me time to get the semester done and over with. New one starts right away, but not much to do for first three weeks, so it will be a break.

Fixing up and customizing your new home is going to be great fun, so enjoy it!

The too hot is upon us, Alice. 92 here right now. In about an hour as the sun starts down, it'll be nice out. That's when Peaches and I still have a good walk again... Twas nice for one this morning. The cool down that was predicted to get here Tuesday seems to be stalled  But hopefully a couple days later.

Many of the workers here are getting together right now... Pot luck and games. First I expected to be over in Phoenix. Cancelled that so thought I'd go. Then I heard from Jil (Carold's sister) last night about a woman rver she told me was here. I met her this morning and we're going to sit out and chat while we watch the sun go down. She'll have wine but I'm off alcohol still... Not taking any chances of dehydration! Smoothies for one meal a day. Lots of water and coconut water at least part of it. And I've been wearing hats. I love hats but hate wearing them lol.

Last night was a wake for my cousin-in-law. Mary Grace was an inspiration to me. She's been fighting MS for at least 30 years. She and my cousin lost a child in the 70's at 5 years old... To an accident... Without details, it was devastating for many. She maintained strength in all the adversity. She and my cousin were together since their young teen years. It was a joke that I kissed him before she did. Long story there, but we had to practice with someone, right? I've been so glad to have her on FB... Will miss her.

Ok, enough about me. I'm so excited for Liz... Wanting to visit her Florida home to retire to might get me back east sooner.

Judy, enjoy the peace there.

Judy, try soaking a serving of steel cut oats in your liquid of choice overnight then heat in microwave. Lots of recipes using steel cut for overnight oats in a jar. Easy. Check Pinterest or google for ideas if wanting something besides just oats.

We had a busy week. Monday I was still sick from a GI virus. Tuesday Mel awoke and could not put weight on his left foot without severe pain I couldn't see anything except maybe slight swelling. I had him stay off it as much as possible and through the day pain increased and swelling progressed. We had a Tuesday appointment with VA Podiatry so he walked with cane to see that dr. Podiatrist was useless, barely examined the foot, not even checking pulse and asked if he had gout which he has not or we would know what it was. Dr then fitted him with a boot and crutches and said get an X-ray if it still hurts in two weeks or come back if it's worse amd otherwise come back in July. I was not happy. Thursday we had a first and probably only visit with medical oncologist who told us same as last time- he had them test the lung biopsy for HER2 and as with previous, if it's negative, he has nothing to offer as the tumor is not responsive to any chemo. His 2 cents on foot was have it checked to see if it's prostate cancer in bone , which we already know it isn't since his PSA is still negative and his PET scan and CT were negative for any spread. then Friday we were at UCD hospital at 05:30 for a stretch of his esophagus. 2 hours of their prep and wait, 20 min in OR and 2.5 hours "recovery"! Last July they had us go to the ENT building to their small procedure room, arriving at 10, 30 min prep, 20 min procedure and 30 min recovery and home. We got 3 different stories as to why the change of place and times. anesthesiologist and nurses said somebody needs to figure this foot thing out and soon. Duh! So after Mel was released we went home for lunch and called VA who said bring him. They did X-ray, ultrasound, and blood test for gout. By 4:30 Mel was getting fed up. Only results back was negative for blood clot in leg. We complained and they said you have to wait until we find you a light wheel chair. We told them no room in car and no way I could drag him and chair up 5 steps into house. They kept insisting he can't put weight on foot you need to wait for chair. They got upset when I said we have no way to use a chair. I finally said, look we are not refusing, we are simply being realistic and we departed with them pleading how will you get him in the house! It would be funny if not so frustrating. He spent most of today in bed with foot elevated. Still swollen and painful but I think slight improvement. I asked Mel what he was going to say when they call Monday and say he needs to come to podiatry. He says no way. Working on next plan! Hoping Sunday brings improvement.
