Thursday and Warmer

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday and Warmer

If you can call 35 warmer, but it beats the cold of past few days and with the sun, feels really good. Will probably putter around outside a bit later today. Need to cut and fit a piece of carpet for inside my truck bed and of course a dog walk. Otherwise nothing shaking here.

Have a nice day everyone. Lyn, sent you a PM.

Good morning Sue and I... pretty chilly here in Central Florida this morning... I thought maybe our winter was over but it's going for a last hurrah I guess... I have an appointment to get my foot looked at next Wednesday I'm glad because this morning and hurt worse than I ever had it I couldn't even make it to the park today the backyard was the best we could do... I am going to see about that retirement community Liz posted about...I'm going to check it out... I have 45 days to get my stuff out of here before the estate sale... if I did one big project a day or a couple little ones today I could manage to get it done I thought yesterday morning would take care of the tools I have... well that's going to be a three-day project... why do I need all these tools... I've had tools all my life I guess that's why and I like tools... oh well I'll get er done... but then I have those moments when I say the heck with it get rid of it all ....all my crafty stuff...boo hoo ...what to do...B safe ...donna

Hi, I'm here at Palmetto St Pk. Didn't,t call last evening because I didn't get in till 7PM. Got lost in Lafayette, went back to 10 to reorient myself, then kept going, going, going. Town has bad "rush" hour traffic which I experienced! This park is a long way out. I will call you later so I don't awaken you this Time!
This is a big park! Lots of empty sites too. Electricity and weak internet service. Lyn

Lyn, I was wondering what happened to you. You should have called me from Lafayette. I could have probably talked you through it. Lafayette is like most towns on a river, you can't get there from here. It funnels most of the traffic onto the roads that cross the river. You are deep in the woods at Palmetto Island. I think the wifi connections or what ever it's called are in the bathrooms. At least it seems better to me when I am camped close to a bathroom.

Another cold night - 27 here with very heavy frost this morning. Beautiful sunny day but it is noon and temp barely made it to 45 so far. Light wind still has a bite to it so poor Nickys walks have been very brief. Guess I'm just a real whoose when it comes to being cold.
May go to bath house and wash load of clothes later - should be warm in there.
Lyn, glad to see you made it to Martha's area. That was a pretty long driving day for you.

Chilly here--high of 55, supposedly, but it feels a lot colder and I am not going to go out at all! Got work to do, and just feel like reading and resting, and warming up from low of 34 outside last night. :o And I am still in Florida.

One reason I do not want to go out is that I spent all day yesterday in spring break traffic. I headed to Camping World to have them check my toilet and the area behind my cabinet where I have an odor. Bathroom is fine until I open drawer and then stinks like pee!!! I could not get the drawer off to see that was back there, but CW service lady got it off and checked--said everything was fine and nothing back there causing a problem. So I had her leave drawer off and when I got home (50 miles away) I sprayed with a cleaner back there and wiped up whatever extra cleaning stuff I could. Smell is MUCH better. (Interesting is that there is a lot of wasted space there. They could easily have added a second drawer.) But drive to and from CW was bumper to bumper and stopping at almost every light. Could not believe it!! Apparently mid-March through April is non-stop traffic around here, so I will not come back this time of year. Took me two hours to drive 50 miles each way.

Anyway, this area is crawling with college students--the other day it was barely 50 and windy, and there were girls wearing bikinis and jackets! Rest of people including me were bundled up. I had ridden my bike down this wonderful bike path, but I had to walk it for half a mile because of the crowds. Families were there as well. Nutty crowds everywhere near the beach.

Lyn and I went to meet Carolyn at Crawfish Town. Lyn wanted a Ragin Cajun t-shirt. Thank goodness they have opened a store that sells the college shirts off campus. It is a fight to find parking on campus just to go to the book store.

I don't know what was going on with all the people on the roads today. There was a lot of traffic even in Abbeville. We saw at least 3 wrecks. I don't think spring break is going on here yet.

Ah, you are wrong about Spring Break. Apparently, Texas and some other states are having Spring Break right now, and they have all come to the Florida Panhandle, as I found out on Tuesday when I went for a bike ride down the road a couple of miles!

Check out my blog. The town along the beach was full of thousands of college kids and a lot of parents to boot. The road along the coast was bumper-to-bumper for two miles in either direction and forget the bike path! I even had trouble walking my bike through town. And it was 50 degrees out, so I was bundled up in layers, but there were girls in bikinis and jackets on the beach!

I am SO glad I did not try to drive my motorhome down that way. Check out my blog for photos.

Spring break started up here a week ago for some schools and colleges already!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
