Sunday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Sun Feb 19, 2017 6:44 am

Morning,

Another sunny, warm day on tap here today. Going to be out enjoying it. Watching pictures of the flooding and rains in CA and hope those out there are safe.

Heading for Mass in awhile, couple errands and then on home. Did get my closet shelf reinstalled but not the rod. Will get to that later. Too nice outside. Even the dogs enjoyed an afternoon out and we got a long walk in too. I actually hauled out my little charcoal grill and grilled some pork ribs for dinner. Not bad for a mid 50's February day.

Cheryl, I haven't done anything on the trip east yet. Only have the reservation set for the U.P. In July so far. Lyn, was it you who said you would be in IA this fall for a rally?

Hope you all have a good day today :)

Morning all.

Not much doing here today, if the lungs cooperate we'll go out for some lunch just to get out of the house. Then maybe a run to walmart, but not up for much more than that.

Really foggy, but warm here today. Only one chance for an overnight low below freezing in the next ten days, weirdest IL February ever.

Definitely fees like spring here in southern Georgia. On to Macon and my cousin's later today. Making the list of what I need to get done at home before work starts for me on March 1. That's all I got!

Stay as healthy as you can out there and find some fun, adventures and joy!

Good morning
I arrived Thurs PM at friends house near St Cloud, FL. Nice parking spot in the back 40. Delighted that house Internet reaches and being so close to Orlando I can even get some TV with my broken antenna - first TV in weeks but no CBS sadly.
Went to a fast pitch softball game (high school) Thursday night. Had not been to a ball game in many years.
There is a very nice park with paved walking trails along a lake not far from house. Sandy walks there daily. I went with her yesterday. I strolled around while she did a real walk. Part of the time was entertained by a drill team practice and a young man training a pup and of course lots of water fowl.
Been raining off and on since late yesterday afternoon. Think it has come to an end now as sun trying to show. Will need to get Nicky out in a few minutes.
Have a great day

Good morning. The sun is finally coming out this morning. I got a little nervous when I got up and there was cloud cover! I was hoping for at least another sunny day! It'll make 3 in a row! It was nice and warm yesterday and I got out and cleaned up after the dogs. Always a fun time! Then crawled out on the roof and fixed a flapping piece of flashing that had come loose. I kept hearing a noise but couldn't place it until I went to the garage and looked back at the house and saw it! Done and done, I hope! Was going to check Lola but never made it so on the agenda for today. I need to run the generator for awhile and just check things out. Loving these warmer temps! It was my DIL's birthday so met the family for dinner. Then back to their house for cake. I think I should have passed on that, I was really full after that!

I've been watching all the rain and problems in CA. You ladies out there, take care. I hope all of you fighting the "bug" start feeling better soon. I was going to stop and visit with my younger son and family but he said both the boys were sick so decided it might be wise!

Ok, not much else here! Looking forward to summer and possibly getting to meet up with some of you! Have a good day and travel safe.

Mornin' ladies!
Nice sunny day again here in the Chitown burbs. Broke the record yesterday. Hit 70*. I'll take it! Expecting a cool down this week, but still keeping my fingers cross we don't get dumped on with snow in March. Ah living in the midwest. Always an adventure weather-wise.

Saw the BIL yesterday. Looking pretty good. And his son is making sure he is doing his exercises. He can get up and down the stairs in his house too, so that's good. I can understand him wanting to be home, because the rehab place he was in is in a lockdown mode because of a virus, so no one can leave their rooms and rehab, what could be done, was in his room, without equipment. Told him he better be healthy for the pick up of Colt 2.0 in April!

Hit CW yesterday, so pick up a few little things and ended up splurging on a new gas grill. It was on sale, plus Good Sam discount, cost $60 instead of well over $100. Had a couple of nice chairs too, one extra wide (cuz you know Punk takes up room ;) ) and one with a pull-out footrest, but decided I don't really need them until the ones I have fall apart. Took a mini-hike up at Chain-O-Lakes SP too, but too mushy in spots, so it wasn't a long walk.

Mickie, are you going to downtown Chicago for your vacation? Or somewhere in the burbs?

Have a good day ladies and stay safe where ever your are.

Cheryl - downtown, Mary has a conference so we're staying at the Marriott Mag-Mile, she'll work and I'll wander. :D Probably spend part of each day at the Art Institute and meet up with my niece a couple of times for lunch (she works at the corner of Michigan and Randolph). Should be fun.

Rainy morning here in southern AZ. We didn't get the wind that others got and not nearly as rainy as predicted. I had to give in and buy a new cell phone. Bought a Samsung Galaxy S5 on sale on the Walmart app. Ordered it at about 11 PM and it was ready the next morning for pick up at the store in Coolidge. This was after ordering twice from the Straight Talk website, only to have the order cancelled for various reasons. After a rep called me the second time, saying there's problems with the website, I told him I would order from Walmart. Anyway...So far I like the phone. Had to spend a lot of time figuring out how things work and went to the club house for WiFi to transfer files and install the apps that didn't transfer over from my old phone. Just time consuming. The volume isn't loud enough for my liking, but I see it is a common complaint. I installed a volume booster app that worked great, but the pop up ads drove me nuts! Uninstalled. I am tethered right now, but I had to spend some frustrating time getting that coordinated with my laptop....AGAIN! I have the Easy Tether Pro app and have for years. I love it, but whenever I get a new phone, I have to install a new driver to my laptop. I never remember the procedure, but manage to fumble my way thru it  Ken was playing with Brutus in the middle of that and I had to tell him that I needed to concentrate. He got the hint and left to go do something to his truck camper. He got it sold and the guy is coming from MT on Tues to pick it up. Sure wish I could get Myrtle sold that easy! 4 guys have looked at her, and one even had his mechanic check her over, but nobody has come up with the money. Frustrated!
Linda, Rags, and Brutus full-timing it in our 2017 Winnebago Micro Mini, Thumbelina.

Good morning...well, I guess it is just past noon here.

Went next door last night to chat with my friend (she lost her dad the day before my dad passed). Spent a few hours there in front of the fireplace drinking wine and talking about life, death, family, etc. Was a very nice evening and was nice to talk about all this. I didn't sleep very good tho. Between the wine and the situation with my brother and having been on the road for the past 5 days, I just couldn't settle down.

Lola is a happy cat tho. She is running around the house exploring everything but I think she is still thinking she is going back in the carrier any minute.

The weather is wonderful! Hardly any snow left. I sat out on the deck this morning and listened to the birds chirping. Will stay warm until the end of the week, and then a possibility of a big wet snowstorm next weekend.

My brothers cleaned up a lot of the house already so not as overwhelming to deal with. Will just take one room and closet at a time and go from there. Right now I am getting my own stuff unpacked and organized. Can't return the UHaul until tomorrow morning since the local place is closed today. Hopefully tomorrow isn't a holiday for them too! Hate dragging an empty, clanking trailer around with me. I also don't have internet yet. The company was supposed to send me a modem but there isn't any package at the house, so will have to call them tomorrow. Just driving up to the local coffee shop to use their wifi for now.

Not much new on my brother's condition, altho I guess he is a little more responsive today, which is promising. He has a long road ahead of him, not only physically, but emotionally and financially. He will probably be charged with criminal vehicular manslaughter and all that entails. I know he wasn't drinking so not sure what happened. Probably just distracted by something. I feel so horrible for the family of the woman he hit. David just retired a couple months ago and was looking forward to buying a winter place in Lake Havasu. They fell in love with that area when they were down there a few weeks ago on vacation.

My other brother and his wife are taking me out for dinner tonight. Being that the hospital is about an hour and a half north of here and he is not conscious right now, we will wait before going up there to see him. We are in close contact with his wife. I am sure his son from California is back in town and there too.

Life can sure change in an instant...
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good morning, everyone.

Cool & cloudy again here in the LA area - although sun is trying to come thru a bit. More rain in the forecast for tomorrow. Love seeing the greening of the area but feel for folks in landslide/mudslide/flooding areas. I now understand the general concern when it rains out here.

Hope everyone who's not up to par gets feeling better quickly. Sarah, glad to see you're still in FL with friends. Linda, hope Myrtle sells soon. Cheryl, that rehab place sounds like a prison - home is always better - hope he recuperates quickly. Sue, love to grill in winter - taking advantatge of warm days in the midwest are true treasures. Barbie, it's good that you have a friend to chat with there. Hoping that things calm down for you a bit - keeping you all in my prayers. You're right that life can change in an instant - need to treasure each moment we have.

No plans today - just catch up on some work-work & take the big van out for a drive. I've taken down the baby gate so Olivia has more room to roam - takes more attention on my part but I felt the gate was too restrictive for her now. I'm delighted that she's using Spanish & English interchangibly now. We're not sure how she determines when to use 1 word/phrase over another - 'por favor' is used more frequently than 'please', 'agua' over 'water', but then she uses 'sit down', 'up/down' & 'thank you' appropriately & she understands both languages equally well. It's amazing to watch as she grows. So happy I have this opportunity to be with her during these early years.

Well, better get moving...
Take care & be safe out there,
Catherine

We survived the big rain, wind storm on Friday night. Luckily we were here and set up in camp before the rain began. Nice Sat and today. Got the TT all cleaned inside and ready to leave for FL tomorrow morning.

I am planing on driving to Nebraska. Going through Keystone to say Hi to Beth, then on to SD to say Hi to Pat and Bronc.
Will be at the Lance rally until Sept 27th. Hopefully then visiting all the Illinois women!.,.,that is my plan today.

Will look forward to spending time with you in Keystone, Lyn!

I'm feeling cautiously optimistic that the meds are helping. I've already cut back on usage of two. The third is a five day course I'm to finish. Still have some shortness of breath. I just wish I knew what set it off, so that I could avoid it. I'm thinking of getting a mask to wear occasionally. Might look silly, but if it keeps out whatever I'm breathing in, I don't intend to worry about being fashion conscious (like that's something I think about much anymore!)

I took care of rest rooms and the recycle bin today... Otherwise still taking it easy. Peaches, however, is giving me the evil eye... Time for a walk. Rain wasn't bad here, winds less than predicted and the temps go back up tomorrow.

Arrived about an hour ago at Highland Hammocks State Park, near Sebring. It was a 180 mile trip today, which is a lot for me, especially since I had to stop at Camping World. I had to return the mechanics hammer left in my vehicle and pick up a left rear marker light. A few days ago, I was making an extremely tight turn trying to get out of a Walmart parking lot. It was one of those places where they try to control traffic by adding a divided exit. Well, heard a scaping sound and it turns out I wiped off the marker light AND scraped some trim with one of those yellow posts. Luckily, there is almost no damage to the expensive paint job. I can sand down the two trim pieces, assuming I can get the one bent back into shape and putting some touch-up paint on both. Both are the dark brown color. Gets a lot more complicated with multiple colors of paint with all the swirls on my rig. Will cost a bit, but could have been a lot worse.

I am really getting tired of the heat, so it is a good thing I am slowly heading north. :)

Beth if you get a mask do not just get one of those cheapy surgical masks, (they keep your germs from getting out) get an N95 mask or comparable you can get them at Home Depot or any other like store.

Thanks, Karen... Probably would have gotten the wrong thing.
