Good Morning all,

President's Day weekend, marks the end of the long winter holiday weekends and signals the slow march to spring. It's usually busy up here with winter sports folks flocking to their favorite ski, snowmobile or snowshoe destinations. And with what looks to be a major meltdown this weekend and next week, they had better enjoy it. Winter is not over, but taking a hiatus for awhile. Road weight restrictions are going into effect this weekend for truckers as well.

So today I am going to put my closet back together from painting it the other day. Need to reinstall a shelf and put in a new clothes rod. Want to weed out some clothes I never wear as well. Then will head outdoors and enjoy the day with the furkids on a nice long walk, do a little cleaning up in the garage, recycles to the recycle station etc., just going to enjoy the days sunshine.

Hope you all in CA are staying high and dry. Enjoying reading the adventures of those roaming around on the roads. Stay safe. I need to get busy and haul out my maps and travel stuff to plan for the east. Looks like there will be a number of us out that way.

Have a nice and safe day. Hope those under the weather are feeling better.

Mornin' Sue & all that follow ~~~
How is your Gettysburg planning working out Sue?

Not sure where I may be going other that Colt pick-up weekend. Did the DMV Thursday on the way home from work and got plate transferred, title transferred and sales tax paid. Two trips to the DMV in 2 weeks is enough for me this year. Had to renew the plate in order to drive the original Colt to the dealer for trade-in.

Went to the RV show yesterday, and didn't go into any TT's except the Imagine 21RB that General RV had. They still didn't' get in the 2500RL, so glad I bought when I saw one. Fastest time thru the show. I only went into A's & C's that were 30' or less to be nosy if I decide to buy one of those at retirement. Did pick up some info on CGs with monthly rates to look into and bought a picnic table cover in boring navy blue made of marine vinyl. The bee's like my colorful one to much.

BIL came home from rehab yesterday. Hope he didn't rush to get out too early. He lied and told them his son is staying with him. Maybe for a night or two, but he needs to get home to his own family. I'll see BIL today and may be on dinner duty since he's staying in his family room for now.

Not much else. Have a good day ladies. Enjoy the sunshine if you have it, stay safe those in bad weather areas, and safe trips in you're on the road.

Good Morning! Sue, Thanks for the reminder that it’s a holiday weekend. I would have never thought of it. Now I’ll remember not to bother going to the post office or bank on Monday. Funny what retirement does to a person! I used to be a little put out with Washington, Lincoln, and King’s mothers for their ill planning of the birth of their sons. If they would have been born in the summer it would have meant two three day weekends for camping. Now it doesn’t matter.

I have Bronc today. Ashley went shopping with some friends. Right now my kitchen floor is covered with farm equipment and Mega Legos. He’s busy building fences and sheds. Makes me wonder how he will cope when he has a little sister crawling around messing up his projects! Glad that I woke up early and did somethings before he got here. I have a 6 quart crock pot full of baked beans cooking. Tonight there is a 50th surprise birthday party for one of my friends along with a 30th birthday party for one of Sean’s friends. Nina’s birthday isn’t until the 28th and she thinks that her daughter is getting the garage ready for Aaron’s birthday, which is today. But her DH and daughter decided to have it early because they thought that they would be better able to surprise her if it was early. There will be a huge crowd between the two! Her DH bought 160# of chicken. They have 6 Traeger smokers lined up and my husband and a couple other guys are going to start smoking chicken around noon. Luckily we have been having unseasonable warm weather in the 60’s the last week and it’s supposed to continue until the end of next week. All most all of the 18” of snow that we received a couple weeks ago is gone. But the perennials in my flower beds are getting confused.

Have any of you used a counter top refinish kit? Sean did the counter tops in his house with a Rustoleum kit yesterday. It really turned out nice although the color is a little too dark for my taste. I wonder how durable it will be. Sure a lot less expensive than replacing the counter tops. His next project is replacing the flooring and then he's done with his kitchen and will start on the bathroom. He's really a Jack of all trades.

Well I’d better get busy and make out a grocery list....I know I have to buy milk...Bronc has already drank three glasses of chocolate milk in two hours. Looking forward to pictures from the Hillsborough GTG!

Had a great bike ride with my cousin at Shark Valley--15 miles. I was a little worried about her stamina because she does not even own a bike, but she is only 62 and rides her horse every morning, so she was OK. I, of course, ride my electric bike, but had to go really slowly for her. The rental bikes had no gears and were really rickity. She lives in Florida but had never been to Shark Valley. This is also true of my other three cousins who live in FLorida. Cannot understand it!!! :? She was, however, excited to buy her senior pass!!

Anyway, she kept saying how she had no idea all that beauty of the grassy Everglades was around and how gorgeous it was. I was really glad she enjoyed it. It was great fun talking about her family and mine. Her dad was the original hyper, ADHD person before there was such a thing. Never sat down, drank tons of Coke, and ate non-stop Hershey bars, and never had an ounce of fat on him with all his running around. He was great fun and used to organize adventures and boating expeditions for all of us. They had a cottage next to ours for 20+ years, so even though I am a lot older than she is, I remember playing with her as a baby and introducing her to horses, which became her lifetime love. (We had borrowed a neighbor's horse for the summer, and let him graze on our lawn. At age three, my cousin used to love to crawl under and around the horse while he was eating.) And her mother never panicked!!!

Rest and work today, then tomorrow heading for Highland Hammocks for three days.

I know the only reason I have seen some of the attractions around me is because I have taken someone visiting here.

After 3 days of cooler weather it has warmed back up into the 70's. I think today and tomorrow will be warm and clear and then 2 days of rain. I hope we have good weather for the Florida GTG. Lyn I sent you a PM.

Pat, that sounds like some party. That's a lot of chicken.

Good afternoon. Tina had to leave today, and as it is a kind of rainy day here, I have been spending my time cooking. I am preparing a variety of freezer meals for when I get back on the road. I shouldn't have to cook much for a month! I am still cooking because I had to remove some frozen peaches and raspberries to make room for the meals. So now I have a cobbler in the oven. Still plan to mix up some chili this afternoon. I'll have some for supper and freeze the rest.

Hope the California folks are safe and avoiding the floods.

Have made it to my site for the night. With cable! Wow...... Will make the short drive on to Macon, GA, tomorrow with plenty of afternoon time to visit with my cousin. Good thing I missed the cooking event at Liz's. She scared me earlier this week when she went on a cleaning and sorting spree. :)
