February 1st - Rabbits Roll Call

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

February 1st - Rabbits Roll Call

Postby Colliemom » Wed Feb 01, 2017 6:39 am

Good Morning ladies. First day of the month. Time to check in if you haven't been on in a while. Let us know how you are, whatcha been doin, whatever. Been fun reading the posts of late, nice to see so many some days. O'Sharon, glad you posted yesterday, as was wondering about you. Carolb has been AWOL for a bit too. Rosemary, sounds like a nice trip you want to go on. Feel free to ask me any questions on your new TT as I had same model, so might be able to give you some advice. Donna, take care of that foot. Judy, hope your tech shows up and gets your toilet fixed.

As for me, I'm going to paint kitchen and side entrance hallway. Took the wallpaper off yesterday, washed along top of wall and soffits above cupboards so I can paint. While that's drying, will wash down lower wall and under the cupboards where the wallpaper was. Then will be ready to paint walls, but first gotta go get the paint. This is the last big painting project left. Will just be puttering with odds and end projects for rest of winter. Course mom nature will make sure I have some snow to clean up too

Okay, time for me to shut up so the rest of you can chime in. Hope you have a nice day. Thoughts and prayers for those struggling through life's hard time's right now.

Good morning Sue and everyone... a little chilly again this morning at 44 but warmer than yesterday.... did not do much of anything yesterday except go to the bank to deposit a check... someone mentioned about taking a picture of you check to deposit I will have to see if my bank does that.... resting my foot for the last two days has helped and I agree with you Martha when I go to Walmart is when it kicks up specially if it isn't filled totally healed yet and I do believe it is the cement floors that we are walking on what does it ...at other grocery stores that have cement floors there's no give even when there's tile on the floor there's a little give... I might have to resort to ride in around one of those little go karts I hate to do that.... my Dad's friend Chris asked me to go to dinner later today so I guess that's what I'll do.... her and her husband are thinking of buying the house... he was pretty much my dad's best friend here in Florida... I hope they do because that will mean less stress for me he's a contractor amongst other things such as a fireman and an EMT... I guess today I will work on cleaning up the house dusting running a vacuum all that good stuff that way I can sit down and rest my foot and walking on carpet is not so bad for it... was able to take Pheebe to the park this morning but did not do much walking we just wandered around in the grass waiting for the sunrise.... speaking of Sunrise since I'm don't post any of my pictures here if you want to take a look at my blog post yesterday I put several on there with a new blog post... If you want to take a look... all for now... B safe....donna

Mornin' Sue, Donna & all that follow ~~~
Forgot RABBITS again :( Seems I either remember it 2 days before but never on the day. Maybe when I can retire my brain will do better without all the work stuff. Not much else happening. Waiting to pick up Colt 2.0 next week IF it doesn't get snowy or icy. Short ride, but with hauling I'm guess another 1/2 hour at minimum to get used to the heavier weight.

New boss is really something. One of those that doesn't think his underlings should have any opinion, or say in meetings. Won't even look at us when we respond to questions from others or discuss things. Getting the house painted in the Spring, and if it sells, may just keep working until I've had enough. I know another girl my age is thinking the same thing. We've both been here for 39+ years and we are tired.

Have a good day ladies. Stay safe where ever you are. And Eileen~careful driving on your first mountain trip.

Good morning gals. Forgot to say 'rabbits" this morning. :(

Yesterday morning, both of my brothers and I met with the minister and got the funeral arrangements taken care of. It will be Friday morning. His ashes will be kept in a Columbarium at the church. That church was a very big part of my dad's life and when they recently built that Columbarium, he was very excited to buy one of the vaults for his ashes after he passed. They have a nice memorial garden in a courtyard of the church where the vaults are located.

I also got my driver's license renewed and met with someone about getting health insurance. I am going back onto the Minnesota low income insurance I had before. I just barely qualify with my income for that but it is really cheap and covers everything. Much better than ACA. We couldn't get it completed yesterday so I have to go to another location to finish it today. The deadline for that is Feb 8th so I am good on that.

Also will be going thru photos to make up a poster board for the funeral service. I have a lot of pics but they are all in Phoenix. My brothers have some I will go thru and I think there is another box of photos at my dad's house.

Hope you all have a good day! :D

I forgot rabbits! I think I'll blame Drew, since he woke me barking at neighbors out shoveling snow. He still thinks he's responsible for a farm-sized chunk of land, and if all these people are living on it, he'll just have to look after them too. I doubt I'll ever convince him that's not accurate, but at least he doesn't fuss about people going to work and coming home.

A few errands today, then laundry. Leaving for Florida this weekend. Friends are getting ready for kidney surgery, and there are a few things I can do to help. Also, it means I'll be able to get to the Hillsborough GTG! Yay!

Have a great day everyone.

Happy February!

I forgot rabbits until I had talked to myself several times. Donna, I obviously missed reading at some point because I don't know what you did to your foot! Sure would be nice to have friends buy the house. I'm sure Carolb is on her way to Florida to surprise all of us. I wish!! Barbie, that is nice that your dad picked his final resting place. One of my uncles came to visit when my mother had cancer. The two of them went to pick her cemetery plot. We were all reeling from her diagnosis and I hadn't even thought of that.

Nothing much exciting here. Socializing with two couples I met in Orlando who are also here. One couple is raising a granddaughter (13) who has a very sassy mouth - how unusual to be in the company of a child with this lifestyle. Looking forward to Hardee Lakes!

Make it a great day, be safe and prayers for us all!

Good morning ladies
I remembered rabbits, surprise surprise :-)
Been shopping on the internet for my motor home,
of course its still awhile until my funds hit the
bank, but I did find one. Of course its not the
one I wanted cause those are all too high priced
now because of the popularity. However, its only
26' and that was one of my requirements but it
happens to be a class A, and that's ok too. The
price is right without being too old. Low LOW mileage
and in good shape. I spoke to the guy, told him my
situation and in near future will make appt to
drive down and take a hands on look. It has some
added features I like. Where and what will remain
a secret until I actually can get cause I'm superstitions
that way. :-) but I'm excited!!
Moving very slowly getting any housework done, but at
least I'm getting a little done.
Spoke with Carolb, she's fine, but I'm sworn to secrecy, lol
Maybe she'll post today.
Ok, I'm gonna get movin, y'all have a great day, be safe.

I thought about Rabbits before midnight but said something to CC before I remembered it again. He is always up to something if he's awake. I wished I had taken his Fox toy camping with us so he would have had something to fight with besides me. He found one of his catnip mice under one of the sofas and was so proud when he came out with it. It was like he had found a real mouse.

Sue, what do you wash your walls with before you paint? I'm sure my kitchen could stand to be painted. We had wood paneling in our old house which was very out of date but things like that don't bother me. I have a friend that changes curtains and decorations every few years. If I finally decide to put something up it's good for me until it falls apart. In 10 years I have hung one painting, one mirror and 2 clocks. With the wood paneling I could hang things anywhere but don't want to put holes in the sheetrock.

Ava, hope you get the motorhome you want. I took enough money out to get a golf cart but haven't even gone to look at them. I'm sure you all will hear I want a golf cart for a long time before I actually get one. There are a few campgrounds that will let you bring golf carts so, of course, that would mean a trailer too. We have a utility trailer but it's way too long for me to pull.

Afternoon all.

Not much doing here today, had a doctors appointment and getting ready to throw in a load of laundry, it's party central!

Martha - I hear you about pulling the trigger on a purchase, we decide to do something and then have to think about it for a few years, we had a 19" TV for years and years, then FINALLY got around to buying a 32" on sale at Walmart for $199... you'd think we were buying diamonds or something. And we are the same way with decorating, what little we do stays there forever, our newest painting is from 1998. :D

I've been having problems sleeping because of painful mosquito bites, so went to bed early (at least for me) last night and got a pretty good sleep, not counting the hour I was up in the middle of the night. Mostly, the bites are less painful, but I think I got overheated at night with my extra down throw and I woke up with burning pain that lasted until I cooled off. Anyway, they feel fine today even though they are red and swollen. These are not normal mosquito bites--they are really allergic reactions. Each is at least the size of a dime and bright red and hot and swollen. It is making me seriously think about if I want to come back to Florida in two years or just stay most of the time out west where there are fewer bugs!

Anyway, I slept in and then went out to get propane. Been burning through it fast because it is so cold the little electric heater is not keeping up so I have to use my bedroom furnace to supplement it. Anyway, I spent $18.90 on a fill and the last one lasted a full 8 weeks, so that is really pretty cheap. The toilet guy is coming tomorrow around noon, and I hope he is able to fix it without my buying a new toilet. In the meantime, I am managing.

Judy - Mary has allergic reactions to both mosquito and no-see-um bites, she was left with scars from our time in FL. I hope yours stop hurting and heal up quickly!

Judy, that is precisely why I don't like to get east of the Rockies when mosquitoes are out. When I lived in Minnesota for 3 years I'd get bitten so badly that I'd use a dull table knife to scratch them open on my legs. Ended up looking like I had chicken pox.

When I went to Alaska many years ago I'd send my friends outside first to see how those blasted bugs were. If they said "they're not bad," I'd stay in the RV.

There is absolutely nothing in this world that I hate more than mosquitoes. Nothing.
