Last Day of January

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Day of January

Postby Colliemom » Tue Jan 31, 2017 7:38 am

Good Morning from the 45th,

Chilly 19 here this morning. Clipper coming through, but snow is going south of us here. We haven't had a sunny day in at least 3 weeks I think. Peak here and ther is about all. Life in the snowbelt, lake ffect rain, lake effect snow and lake effect clouds when the weather is colder. Come spring and summer, you forget all about it. Like a lady I was talking with yesterday said, "It is what it is".

Martha, sounds like you enjoyed your camping trip. Mickie, sounds like you and Mary have kind of fallen in love with that house. Barbie, things are going to feel overwhelming for awhile, but it will fall into place little by little. Once you can get your dad's accounts frozen, that will stop the scammers. Cheryl, do I get the drift you would like to keep your trailer at a campground rather than do little trips and plan your vacations someplace instead? Or is it just for a certain period of time like when you can't take time off?

Yesterday was run errands morning, recycles to the drop off station, nice walk with the dogs etc., Today I am going to start on the kitchen/entry hall/laundry area. Will be taking old dry wallpaper off and then washing the walls. Will probably paint ceiling in those areas tomorrow. This is the last major painting project in the house. After this, will get busy accessorizing, as need curtains and a couple sets of new mini blinds and some other home decor. Fun stuff.

So time for my morning bowl of strawberries and then get moving along here. Take care everyone.

Good morning Sue & everyone.... pretty chilly I can see my breath this morning on the coast of Central Florida 38°... Got the Grey water pull fixed yesterday... with the tax it was $200 ridiculous they had the parts right there in their store for thirty bucks...25-30 years ago I could have fixed it myself... I have been taking care of my foot for the last week and a half and it's been getting better each day so yesterday I took the rig the Sebastian and stopped at their Walmart to get a few things and walked around more than I should have now today I will not be doing anything no walking no nothing... so this will be a good day to sit around and clean out stuff in the bedroom paperwork and you know how you collect stuff I need to get rid of it it's all part of purging... I'll be heading out on Sunday to the Hardee Lakes. GTG looking forward to that so I got to take care of my foot I'm sure there'll be no hiking going on for me though... well whatever I do if I better get doing it my desk chair does have wheels but there's also a carpet...lol...B Safe...donna

Good morning
Low 30s with frost warning last night. Did not want to crawl out of bed and walk Nicky this morning. Always hesitate about turning heater off so can make coffee on cold mornings - coffee always wins. Should be last cold night and by tomorrow I may be able to get out of sweat suit.
Will be moving to Weeki Wachee tomorrow for a brief visit with Dawn and Paul on my way to Hardee Lakes. Looks like it will be a good weather driving day.

Good Morning to All -- Mild day in MN, very little snow -- we could use more, send some over Sue!

I am in countdown mode, only 11 more days of work, then I am free!! Taking a trip in April to NC area, so lots to do when I get home. Plus have to figure out how to use my TT as I got it from the dealer in Sept. parked it and went to work.

Sue, do you ever paint the ceiling a different color from the walls? I never have, but did see it on a show, walls one color and ceiling a light blue. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Safe travels and enjoy the day.

Good morning from snowy PA! We are finally getting an accumulation of snow, careful what I wish for! Yet again we are on the edge of the accumulation numbers, 1-3 or 4-6! Guess I'll know when it all passes through! I definitely think it's a good day to stay home, schools closed all over the county and counties around here. Maybe instead of shoveling it I'll get to play with the snowblower! Just by the clumps of snow Rascal brought in on his feet this is a heavy wet snow! Should've taught them to wipe their feet before they come in the house!

Boy, you gals in FL are feeling the cold too! But at least you know the temps will go up fairly soon! Sue, sounds like you have a project to keep you busy for awhile! Mickie, have you decided yet if you're going to try to get the house? Sounds like you both really liked it.

Well, not much has been happening here except the weather so will wish you all a good day and safe travels!

It is back into the 70's today so maybe the warm weather will be heading to Florida. I'm surprised I'm not sick as much as we sat out around a fire at night. The heat in the camper makes my nose bleed it's so dry and it ran almost constantly at night.

Donna, my foot can be feeling good until I go to Walmart. I bought some of the insoles Liz and Laura recommended and don't go barefoot in the house at all. I wore my tennis shoes with the orthotics this weekend so my foot was ok. It has been bothering me for 3 months and just now is getting better. Until I do something stupid.

I stopped at Sam's and got gas yesterday when I passed it. I should have picked up what we need but didn't feel like shopping. That means sometime this week I have to go to Sam's.

Good morning ladies,
Rosemary, the countdown is on, makes me smile, I was in you
shoes just a month ago. Now only two weeks into my retirement.
Can't wait to actually do some road trips on my own.
Weather has gotten nice finally!! Will actually get to start walking
Maggie as compared to when I was working, the nice time of the
morning I was driving.
Starting to cruise my RV websites to get a general idea if what's
available, however I don't expect my funds to show up until late
March. I'm also searching for a jeep.
In the meantime, I continue to pack, stash, and toss stuff for the
big day. I have such a big list of things to accomplish, its laughable.
First things first I think is secure a place to home base the fiftwheel.
This park getting too high and unstable with its property lease
from the reservation. Lots of folks selling out this year for that
uncertainty. The other reservation parks charging around 600 a
month.
Ok, I'm done, have things to do, y'all have a great day and be safe

Morning all!

We are going to pass on the house, there is just too much uncertainty no matter how much we loved it. The state of IL (how we earn our incomes) has been without a budget for more than two years so it's a celebration whenever the hecks actually show up in our account. Seems prudent to wait until the condo sells.

Ava - do you have to stay in AZ? If not, there are some super affordable places in NM.

Temps dropped down to 37 last night here in southern Florida, but high today is supposed to be 72 today, so that will be nice. Low tonight is supposed to be 45, so I no doubt will need to make a trip out tomorrow to get propane. Had to run furnace along with electric heater last night to keep it even minimally comfortable.

Got a mobile RV man coming to fix my toilet, but he was very vague about when. He also has another job in this campground, so will be combining trips. I was told he was certified and very reasonable, so I am hoping he can fix this stuff. I can use toilet but have to manually flush, so I really want it fixed soon.

Also got more mosquito bites and am hoping really cold weather will slow them down. These bites are really an allergic reaction and they hurt, not just itch a bit. :x
