Thursday, Jan. 26

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday, Jan. 26

Good Morning from Wauchula, Florida!

Sue a new truck and Cheryl Colt 2 - wow! Mickie, hope you have a condo sale soon. House hunting can be quite an eye opener when you walk inside! Pat, that's way too much snow for me - definitely good to be retired! Ava, what's the battery story? I seem to remember when we had a MH, when parked there was a switch so engine battery wouldn't be drained. Martha, just can't imagine a drive thru for alcoholic drink! I would think stored open liquor in a MH wouldn't be a problem. On my cross country trip with the SS, I buried the liquor as deep as I could! Glad drier weather has arrived at Q and the gtg is going strong!

I moved to this Thousand Trails park Tuesday and it is right on Peace River. I enjoy this park though I understand it floods if they have a lot of rain. There was some mud when I got here from showers the day before. Not all sites have sewer so they have a lottery - my name still hasn't been called so will try again today. At noon they post available sites and at 1 they start calling names in order of our arrival. People I met in Orlando are here - one took me around on his Harley trike to look for a temporary spot (park is quite full), another helped me back in and a third will help when I get another site. Also a great place to walk along the river.

Make it a great day and be safe!

Morning Anita and all who follow,

The truck is a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado. Red, my favorite color. Yes Mickie, it's a four wheel drive. It's a lease truck I will have for 39 months.

Wow, bit chilly for starters in Q. Think we have been the same temp wise in the a.m. And this is the north country. But at least the days warm up for you.

Painting on the agenda for today I think. Guest bathroom. Then by weekend, it will be off to the kitchen, which I'm looking forward to. So guess I should get my act in gear and get with it. Have a nice day all.

Morning, Gals!

Anita, you aren't kidding about house hunting, it is an experience. Best this we've figured out so far is we'd prefer a newer house if we can afford it. We just don't want to deal with 50-70 years of someone else's grunge and decorating/remodeling debacles, not for a retirement house with more limited funds in the future.

Sue, sounds pretty! We really wanted the awesome blue color we had before my mom got sick (we traded it in on something she could get in and out of more easily), but it's no longer available, so we went for black.

Hope everyone has a fun, dry, sunny day.

Good morning
After two hard days driving, I've made it to Silver Springs on the edge of Ocala. I'm in a mostly permanent residence park a couple of blocks from entrance to the boat launch area of the state park. So far so good but I'm exhausted and head stopped up.
Wings (Claudia) was at the state park last night and she generously drove over to visit and have dinner with me. We went to Bob Evans; surprisingly good meal and of course good company. However she had been kayaking all day and was about as tired as me so our visit was brief.
Not sure what is on agenda for today but glad I'm not driving again.

I slept 10 hours last night. Still cuddled in bed. Watched the sunrise through my window but it wasn't picture worthy today. Still nice and something I don't see often :)
I got to see most of the ladies here yesterday. It was good to spend time with Alice, especially as she's pulling out today. Sheila and I (and anyone else interested) will head over to the big tent this afternoon to browse.

Good morning gals!

Working today and then meeting up with my brother and his wife who are in town, for dinner.

My other brother is dealing with my dad who is in the hospital with pneumonia. He will be going to a nursing home for a few days after that. My brother says the lotter situation is really out of control now. He wants me to get his phone number changed before my dad gets home. He is even talking about finally taking my dad to court to prove he is incompetent and take over his finances, etc. I kind of figured that once I was out of the picture (and not doing everything myself) that my brothers would finally see the light and do something.

Gotta get ready for work. Have a great day! Beth, don't spend too much money at the Big Tent! But easy to do! Lots of cool stuff there!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Glad your brothers have stepped up, Barb. And nice to have a new truck, Sue.

Got my valve stems in my package delivery from my cousin yesterday, so I am going to try to find someone to put them on and check tire pressure. Grocery shopping and that will fill out my day's activities! Other than work, of course.

Good morning everyone. It's a quiet morning here in McIntosh. One more lovely day before a front brings cooler temps starting tomorrow I think. I finally sent in all 3 of my Canon cameras that were damaged (scratched lens, dropped one...). Instead of repairing any of them, Canon sent me 3 new or refurbished ones. They all look and behave like new. Anyway I decided to sell one of them, so it is listed in the Trading post thread here first if you are interested.

Good Morning! Sue has new wheels…Sarah is in Florida….Queen is house shopping…the girls at Q have ice and Martha has a drive thru Margaritas! Well…South Dakota has its own A&W Root Beer Drive-in without the “root”! Yankton has the Ice House and you drive in and are served beer in your car or you can sit on the dock and smash beer bottles. Really classy place! And we spent a lot of time there in college! It’s packed during nice weather. http://kelo.com/blogs/the-daily-dose/74 ... n-america/ It has the only license like it in the US and it has to stay within the Anderson family to be renewed. So that’s my little tidbit of information for today….have a good one.

Good afternoon from the Q. Another chilly night we had. Ice on my car and chairs and table. Had a little generator hiccup but got it fixed this morning myself!!!! Ever so proud LOL It was as they say "pilot error".

Think the gals went over to the Big Tent today. I went yesterday with Alice but did not see anything I needed to buy so Visa Platinum is untarnished. Alice bought a couple of things. Alice and Bill left this morning without any issues.

I am doing some housekeeping chores trying to keep up with the grit of the desert. I am so not used to the gritty feel everywhere. Pine needles and dog hair ..Yes....Grit ..No

Think I will take a shower this morning (a short shower) and then maybe head in to town for a grocery store Need some staples to tide me over until I leave here. Sheila is a wealth of information on where to find different stores.

Black shows all the scratches Mickie, so keep it out of car washes with brushes. Ask me how I know.

Just got back from having dinner with my oldest brother and his wife. We had a very nice conversation and they gave me a wooden plaque with a painting of an old vintage trailer. Very cool!

However, apparently my other brother sugar-coated the situation with my dad, and in reality it sounds like my dad is in very serious condition right now. He took a turn for the worse last night in the hospital. He is aspirating on his food like he did several years ago and that is causing the pneumonia. He is being fed intravenously now and on oxygen. I am waiting for an update tonight on his condition. He has a reputation for amazingly bouncing back from near death in the past, so we'll see. However, he is 90 years old...

I told my brother that I do have some leeway with my moving if I need to fly back to MN. My rent is paid here thru February and the new place is secured too for February.

Linda (Bikerchik) is coming over tomorrow morning for a haircut and then we planned to go out to lunch and maybe do something else for the rest of the day. Will see on that too.

***Just got an update on my dad. He is not doing very well tonight. It is a wait and see thing at this point... Also my brother found out that my dad's renter is a methadone addict and has overdosed twice last week and ended up in the hospital as well. Never saw that coming!
