Morning all,
Sure was nice seeing so many posts yesterday and fun reading them too. Laughed about the Oreo cookies. Brought back memories of how i used to take them apart too and lick the centers or leave them together and dip them in milk. And Martha, those Double Stuff ones were my downfall too.
Old Man Winter has decided it's time to come back. Fine by me, as I'm sick of the foggy damp weather which has been around for too long. Supposed to have some rain/mix today with little accumulation if any. But then back to Lake Effect snows by weekend. More normal weather. Was thinking the other day that we only have about 6-8 more weeks of real winter and then we will be working toward spring.
Mickie, keeping fingers crossed on your condo. Hope it sells pretty soon for you. Velda, sorry about the tree, but at least you won't lose it all from sounds of it. And saving green too besides. We had a snowstorm a few years ago dump 20 inches of very heavy wet snow here. It created a mess needless to say. Brought down trees, power lines and what not. I lost a top out of one of my big pine trees that fortunately missed my house, garage and fence, but also lost about a dozen other small trees as well. Mostly poplars that didn't amount to anything anyway. Took a week to get power back to some places here as the power crews couldn't get in the roads to repair the lines due to the deep snow and the road commissions couldn't plow the roads cause of power lines and trees down. So power crews rounded up every snowmobile they could get their hands on to get the lines off the roads so the plows could get in. Sometimes mom nature can really dish it out.
Heading to truck dealer later this morning to take delivery of a new truck. With a lease pull ahead in effect and some good deals going on this month, I was able to turn my current truck back in and will drive out with the new one. Will be under lease for 39 months. So first step toward doing some camping and traveling this summer has been taken.
Heading off to do some more reading here, so going to wish you all a nice day today. Hope those in the west and east are safe from all the flooding, rain, snow and whatever else mom nature is dishing out right now.

Morning all!
Wow, Sue, a new truck! What are you getting, I'm assuming 4x4 for where you live? We have one here and we get far less snow than you, but it sure is nice to not be sliding all over the place most of the winter on snowpack.
Most of the condo offers are flaking off, they make a verbal offer (apparently not unusual in FL, never done here in IL) but when they see the details of the guy who is suing the HOA, mainly that he is the next door neighbor, then run scared. I can't really blame them, knowing what I know now we would never live in that place. But I'm confident it will sell at some point, just hopefully t a weekender from Orlando who won't have to care so much about an insane neighbor.
Anyone else here have trouble sleeping when they drink alcohol? It's always been an issue if I had "one more", I'd wake up in the middle of the night like someone flipped on a switch. But now if I have a glass of wine at dinner, or a beer with friends, I simply cannot sleep; the other night Mary and I shared a bottle of wine and I was awake until 3:00am, and we had to get up at 5:30am. It went from once in a while to every time, so now I barely drink at all, but I still enjoy the taste of really good wine/beer/bourbon. Just wondered if this was something that happens as we age, or just my fun and unique physiology?

Mornin' Sue, Mickie and all that follow ~~~
I'm guessing everyone has done the splitting of Oreos. If not, well then they haven't lived!
Another one is Butter cookies on your fingers, eating the petals around the circle.
Not much of a drinker anymore Mickie, but yep on the alcohol. It may knock you (pass) out, but it's fitful sleep with waking, tossing turning, etc.
Haven't even signed the papers yet on Colt 2.0 but already spending $$$. Thank goodness for Amazon's archived orders! So I know most of what I need to buy (bug screens for the vents, etc). Other stuff I already have and the dealer is giving me of some of that so will have duplicate that will store in the garage for replacement parts if needed.. Still debating what color scheme, but I kind of like the teal & purple so may stay with that ~ or blue and green. Oh who knows!
Well better get to work. Have a good day ladies and stay safe wherever you are.

Good morning
Just trying to warm up a little before the sun comes up. On my second cup of coffee we had to make the old fashioned way.,,,,,you know, boil the water on the stove and pour it
through the grounds. It seems our batteries drained overnight and were dead in the water this morning. Will do a little brainstorm later to think this through. The generator was working fine but chassis battery drained and now house batteries. Otherwise, I'm loving this hanging out in Quartzsite right now. Karen showed up yesterday, shortly after that, Sharon showed up too. We had sunshine all day and I expect more of the same today.
Y'all enjoy your day.

Good morning from beautiful snowy South Dakota. We have 17” of snow and it’s still snowing. Picture is compliments of the neighbors….I haven’t set foot out of the house. Sitting here reminding myself why I love retirement! Plus answering the phone and trying to explain to people why the city workers (one of them is my DH) are not out plowing the streets. NO they are not just being lazy! The mayor has told them to wait until it stops snowing.
Nothing else is really new around here. Pam (friend who owns the bar with her husband) is having knee replacement surgery tomorrow, so I’ll be filling some for her during her recuperation. Then some of us will be taking turns taking her to her physical therapy so Jim doesn’t have to hire as much help. Friday I’m on the Meal Train for a nice young neighborhood family. The mother is having a very difficult pregnancy and is on complete bed rest. Dad works full time and there are four children at home, the youngest is about 2 and the others are in school. So one of her friends set up a Meal Train online. Guess today I will make and freeze some of the things that I’m taking over since it doesn’t look like I’ll be leaving the house until the driveway is cleaned…..and the snow removal guy told me he has put our house down on the list since I don’t have to get to work anymore.
So with that I’d better get my butt in gear. Can’t wait for more pictures from Q!

Mickie, I have never been a drinker because after one or two drinks, my nasal passages swell shut and I cannot breathe. The effect will last all evening and all night, so drinking was never worth it because it meant a sleepless night. I also had a friend that I worked with who said the same problem kept her clean during the wild 70s when everyone else was smoking pot and drinking. She could do neither without similar nose problems!!!
Waiting for my cousin to come by with all of the packages I ordered. He's going to visit this afternoon with me and maybe take me to the store. My glasses are not due to arrive until Friday so I will stop by his place on Saturday to pick them up before leaving here on Sunday for Ortona South for a couple of weeks.
Nice chilly nights recently, which makes for good sleeping. Days have been perfect temperature wise, so enjoying that as well.

I feel for the people in Q, it's 78 here. There is a front about mid state with some rain that will come through later today. It's going to be cold for my camping trip.
I don't sleep well not drinking. I can go to sleep but will wake up and not be able to go back to sleep. Red wine and tequila gives me a headache and some wines stop up my head. I'm a real connoisseur, I put every thing on ice even beer.
I use to drink Bloody Mary's but my stomach can't take much tomato juice. When we have a club meeting I will pick up a Margarita at one of the drive thru places and that's about all I have. One of the Mexican restaurants has a good mango margarita but I don't want to drink anything unless I am going to be somewhere for a while.
Ava, hope you get your battery issues figured out. I probably need to start my engine to make sure it will start.
I wish Harold could lease a truck but he's too rough on vehicles. He already has 2 dents in the back bumper and a big scratch on the front fender. He doesn't think about putting something on the back seat when he has to bring the dog somewhere.

That's South Louisiana for you. lol The best part is we have the open container law. I never have had a chance to ask a police officer how they handle that. I guess if you don't put a straw in the drink it's not considered open. I sure don't drink any of it until I get where I'm going. I also wonder what the law is for motorhomes. Sometimes I will have an opened bottle of liquor in a cabinet or an open bottle of wine in the refrigerator.

Good morning
After two hard days driving, I've made it to Silver Springs on the edge of Ocala. I'm in a mostly permanent residence park a couple of blocks from entrance to the boat launch area of the state park. So far so good but I'm exhausted and head stopped up.
Wings (Claudia) was at the state park last night and she generously drove over to visit and have dinner with me. We went to Bob Evans; surprisingly good meal and of course good company. However she had been kayaking all day and was about as tired as me so our visit was brief.
Not sure what is on agenda for today but glad I'm not driving again.
