Winter Sunday morning...

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Winter Sunday morning...

Postby grammynmaggie » Sun Jan 08, 2017 6:27 am

Ok... I will concede this is a true winter morning in Florida temperature is 37 wind chill in the 20s... the GTG and Hardee Lakes is going good... you remember my TV has not worked I thought the antenna was dead could not find a booster button and Liz said that she had a Roadtrek that didn't have a boost button... so just for the heck of it I went to Walmart and bought a 14.99 booster... Soos and I hooked it up and lo and behold my TV works so now I'm not going to worry about getting a new antenna... living in the Roadtrek I'm learning more with each trip I take I have got to learn to be more organized and I've got to learn to put every item away after I'm done using it no matter how small it is even if it's a pencil...lol... and I still have to figure out what I need and I don't need... today there's some Dutch oven people coming they are not having a cook-off just a potluck so I think most of us are going to be taking a dish go to Vickie and Dave site and partaking in the Dutch oven potluck.... I've been able to capture and really pretty pictures and so has liz... if I have to stay inside most of the day today maybe I will try fire up the laptop and post some pictures here if I can still remember how to do Photobucket.... have a wonderful day & B safe....donna

Good morning, Donna and all who follow

Wow, 37 in FL is so cold, hope you're staying toasty warm. I've been away and didn't know you'd gotten a new rig, very nice!

We're celebrating our 27th today so I think we're going out to dinner somewhere, but it's all of 3 degrees outside so if it doesn't warm up I'd settle for delivered pizza!

Good Morning to All. Brrr...don't associate Florida with 30's. Im complaining about low 60s here in Mazatlan. Guess I should be quiet. Did notice that it snowed in Las Vegas, NV yesterday morning. I guess it was their once a year snow.
Been being quiet here for a few days, trying to get my knee to better - by staying off it. Most of the bruising is gone, it just looks dirty now. And the swelling is down, but now it hurts. Didn't hurt for the first 4 or 5 days. Went to doc here $17 at the emergency room! - The price for an overnight stay in a private room is US$ 80. Couldn't get an aspirin for that at home.
Stay warm and safe in the bad weather. Happy anniversary - delivered pizza sounds good

Brrrr....Good Morning! So nice to be inside and toasty warm. Given the weather elsewhere, this is still the place to be! I left the gang yesterday to watch the Seahawk game and then discovered I had the Pacific Time in my head so was 3 hours early. I had entertainment from the tenting group next door as the girlfriend went ballistic on the guy and had his kids upset. Pre-teen daughter crying and on the phone. He needs to kick that gal to the curb.

Queen, happy anniversary! Barbie, I think as long as you work for and with someone else, you are likely to have issues. Some are very lucky and don't, but I sure had my share. Beth, the only reason there is sugar in my rig is hummingbirds! Donna, if I ever learn to put every little thing away, the world would probably end! Nice the gtg is continuing at Beth's with Q coming up - so going to miss that.

Everyone stay safe and warm!

Anita - your time change issue cracked me up. I did the same constantly when we moved back to CST from EST.

The sugar thing, we never have sugar in the house, this came up at Christmas and my SIL looked shocked and said "but, how do you make cookies???". I looked at her like she was nuts, she's known me since the end of 8th grade, she knows I can't bake at all, and she knows Mary is a complete health nut. We don't have sugar or flour in the house, we do have that cookie ingredient in the yellow box, but it sits in the freezer to make it smell nice.

Good Morning All, I was wondering if those with hurting limbs, Carol and Barbie, have ever used Arnica. I tried some on my shoulder (bad arthritis) and it helped right away.

The daughter is over spending the week end with the boy friend, so I am "dog-sitting" her little dog. He is so cute, and minds well, however, walking two dogs is not the easiest thing to do.

Cookies for me come in a Pillsbury wrapper and I just put them on a cookie sheet and pop them in the oven...if I don't eat the dough first!

Long, long day at work yesterday! Too old for that now! I could barely walk or stand up straight when I got home! Now, I find out one of our stylists got hurt last night (after work) and can't work for a few days so we are gonna be short-handed. I know they will ask me to work tomorrow on my day off but I just can't work that hard for that many days in a row without a break. The haircut sale goes thru Friday.

I can tolerate stylist drama a lot easier than I can tolerate manager drama. This salon is so mismanaged!

I bought a "Natural Blues" cd in Tuscon and it is wonderful! Blues music with birds, frogs, waves, wolves. etc, in the background. Very relaxing! I plan to make my new room into a little sanctuary with a meditation/yoga area, with plants and a water fountain, etc. I am going to get a glider chair to chill out on. Can't wait!

The weather is nice here...73* and sunny today. No complaints! Feel for those of you in the cold areas! Not fun!

Stay warm!

Lyn, I have not heard of Arnica. What is it and where do you get it? Does it have a strong smell to it?

Two nights of freezing weather and I'm sick of it. It got down to 25 last night and maybe close to freezing tonight and up to 70 on Tuesday.

Donna, glad you got your TV working. When almost everything went digital it has been a pain. At least with analog you could watch something even if it wasn't a real good picture. Now it's all or nothing. The antenna on my motorhome has a a button to make it rotate but has stopped doing that. Who ever had it before me added all kinds of wires in the nose cone that I don't know what they all go to. They probably took out what they had added but left the wires. I have a satellite but unless you can get a clear site it doesn't work. I bought a flat antenna with a booster at Walmart. I can hang it in a window and it works pretty good but you have to be near a large city with TV stations. I have learned more about TV's than I ever wanted to know.

Anita, your neighbors sounded like camping with my son's ex-wife. First she shows up drunk and it went down hill from there. My younger son said if his brother ever decides to get married again we are running a background check on her. It is too easy to get married and too hard to get out of it.

Harold has decided to start the fire in the grill so guess I better get my part ready. I don't really want to eat this early but when he get something in his head you can't stop him.

Arnica is made from the plant Arnica Montana. I use it for injuries in both tiny quick dissolve pill form and in gel. I prefer gel over cream as it absorbs quicker. An example of use: bump shin on box and starts to bruise, apply Arnca several times a day and for me bruise is gone in about half the usual time. Learned about it from my neighbors Mom, who used to visit from India. She showed me her toe one day and asked if it looked ok. Looked fine to me. She said two weeks before she had tried to sit in a chair and put the chair leg on her toe by accident and sat on it, squashing her toe. Said she applied Arnica right away and her toe healed fast and did not have expected pain. I keep it on hand ever since she told me and use as needed.I get it at local health food store but I thnk places like Trader Joe and Whole foods has it.
