Subzero Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Subzero Saturday

Good morning, everyone!

Woke up to -4 today, but it's heading up to 22 so that will be much better. Loads of errands to run today, but might linger over this tasty coffee a while longer than I planned, not in any hurry to bundle up and get started.

Hope everyone has a great day and the GTG gals are having a ball.

I think we are all frozen or having too much fun. It got down to 23 here last night. That's the coldest I can remember in a long time. I hope we didn't have any pipes or faucets break. We have pipe running all over to different pens and I don't even know how many faucets we have. No plans for today just try to stay warm.

It looks like it might be raining in Florida.

Good Morning!

Yes, Martha, it is raining in Florida! Made for a lovely long sleep - until 10:45! Not quite 65 degrees, but there is a wind chill advisory for tonight. At least some of the dust has been washed off!

We all continue to have a good time! I'm so far away from everyone that I told them last night I'd see them tomorrow. :) I think that means I have time to clean!

Everyone stay safe and warm!

Yes, we are sitting inside and waiting out a rainy day here. Temps expected to drop drastically as it goes through. Currently still 75 inside my RV.

Good morning
We are also way below freezing in north AL; got to get thru 2 more days of this bitter cold. Nice warm up toward end of week but it also bring rain back.
No real plan for the day other than staying warm. If I get brave enough to venture outside, it will be only long enough to get mail and refill bird feeder.
The only major handicap in life is a bad attitude!

I feel bad for you folks in the south going through this, here in the North/Midwest we are all set up for it, we're heated/insulated/and dressed for it, for months at a time. It's annoying, but normal.

Beautiful, but a tad windy today in Arizona. I always plan on cool to cold mornings, but cool desert nights make for excellent sleeping. And all this week sunny and 70's which is perfect for me.

Linda is arriving today sometime for a couple days. And Sandi is still here. Sandi is off to a cave right now. I've got things to do around here.

I bought a hummingbird feeder at the Desert Museum the other day. Yesterday I bought sugar to make nectar. This rig has never seen sugar in it before :D

I'm enjoying the fun being had in Florida. I particularly like the campfires from a distance. I just can't do them without being sorry afterwards anymore. But love seeing all of you enjoying them.

Past morning here. Thanks for starting coffee this morning Mickie. My internet service wasn't working for awhile, but is on now. I have it through my cable company, so probably in the system.

Just got back from town. Beautiful day here, but cold. Supposed to snow later I guess. We have a new snowfall record for December - 79.8 inches. As of last Thursday, we have had 105.2 inches of snow so far this season, 3 feet above normal for this time of year. Record snowfall stands at 207.5 inches, set back in winter of 1996-97.

Anne, there is no trick to indoor painting in winter. The key is the paint you buy. Use a Latex paint, not oil based. Also don't buy cheap paint like WalMarts brand for instance, stay with the top rated good quality paints. Cheaper brand paints are more water based, thus have more odor and also are thinner. So you wind up having to do two coats, which means usually needing more paint. A good quality paint is thicker and has less VOC '(odor). They will cover better and some have primer in them, so you don't have to use a separate primer. I use Behr paints, sold at Home Depot. Primarily the Behr Premium Plus or Premium Plus Ultra. Great paint. One coat is all I need and very low odor. In fact, the Premium Plus Ultra I just painted my bedroom with, had almost no odor at all. I slept in there that night after I painted it. Granted, it's not cheap. Runs around $35 a gallon, but it will give you great results and you can paint away all winter. Sherwin Williams is also favored by a lot of painters as well. And remember, if you like a competitors color, any store selling paint can mix it in their brand. I've had a Valspar color mixed into Behr, no problem. Just give them the color chip and they can look it up.

Not a happy camper tonight. I did 30 haircuts today in 9 1/2 hours so my feet hurt. My forearm that I had issues with last month is hurting a little again. Just can't do these long hard hours anymore.
My manager was really pissing me off today. She was removing on-line check-ins from the list so when the people showed up and were wondering why their name wasn't on the list, she told them they were too late, which is BS. Of course they got mad and left. She just said "we don't need customers like that anyways". If there is close to an hour wait and the customer decides to go to the store to kill some time, she will take them off the list too. Then she told an older lady the wait was only 15 minutes when it was really 45 minutes. I questioned her about it and she said we had two more stylists coming in soon. Also not true. Then when I finally got to cutting that lady's hair (I apologized for the long wait) I started to dry it and the manager told me if she wasn't paying for a style to stop drying it. A blowdry comes with every cut. I kept drying it anyways. I was really upset! Nothing like good customer service! Yikes! She just wants the numbers to look good but doesn't care about the customers. I don't do things that way.

Then I get home and my roommate tells me I am chipping the paint off the bathroom cupboard doors with my fingernails. I keep my nails very short for work and I never keep my stuff in the cupboards anyways. I just came up to my room and am trying to calm down! What is with people?? I can't wait to move!

OK, done ranting...just tired and need to go to bed early!

Hugs, Barbie. I hope at least the tips were good.

Barbie - maybe Sue will speak up here too.

If it is good quality paint in good condition, you shouldn't be able to chip it off with your fingernails, even if you wanted to!

What nonsense!

I looked at it last night and it practically rubs right off! Yes, very cheap paint! There are no handles on the doors so you have to grab the edge of the door to open it and that is where the paint is coming off. Hope she doesn't deduct that from my damage deposit!

That may be why she brought it up just before you plan to leave.
