Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday - 3 days till New Year

Postby Colliemom » Wed Dec 28, 2016 8:24 am

Good Morning,

Here we are, 3 days away from turning the calendar. Anything you want or need to do before year's end, like take that round the world trip, better get to it

Bit of light snow here last night. We had big warm up on Christmas Day followed by freezing rain, rain, wind, power issues etc. on Monday. Lost quite a bit of snow. Hope you gals out east are still with us and haven't been blown to the Atlantic.

Posted the results of Trailer Life's 2016 Readers Choice Awards in General Talk. Some surprising results in there. Donna started a 2017 plans thread too. Interesting reading what some of you are thinking for next years travels, camping trips etc. I'm starting to think new trailer maybe and trip east.

Otherwise same old here. Been working on organizing the basement, room by room. Workshop is done for most part, think craft room will be next. Get the rest of boxed up stuff unpacked and put away. Also need to get paint to do my bedroom. Time to move aong with the inside projects. Keeps one busy on cold winter days.

Well, enough jabbering here. Time to get a move on. Have a nice day all.

Sue, instead of a trip east, you need to take a trip south next winter to get out of all that snow, ice, and rain! It is gorgeous down here, even if it is a bit humid. Nice breezes almost every day, lots of sun--what more could you want? And I haven't even been bitten by a mosquito lately. :D

Very pleasant place here in Ortona, but I will have to move tomorrow morning to a new campsite for two days. Then I have to travel north to Alafia State Park for two days, then to Silver Springs. I was originally going to spend six days there, but am cutting it short to fly to Ohio for a few days to see my grandkids.

Anyway, Sue, as much as I like Michigan, I am glad to be here in shorts and t-shirt weather, than there!

Sunshine! We have sunshine! I am dazzled -- and ridiculously excited.

Yesterday I was watching a video that had over a minute of a Husky howling. Drew came rushing from the back of the house and practically climbed on my desk to find "that dog in MY house!" Well, I think that's what he thought. Funny dog! I wonder what he'll do to make me laugh today?

Good Morning
We have sunshine for the first time since Friday but thunderstorms forecast to start later in the day and mostly rain the remainder of the year.
Going to try to get all my errands done today while weather nice. Need to get the remainder of year end bills paid and bookkeeping caught up - those sound like rainy day tasks.
Have been playing on computer and new (my first) smart phone way too much. A mix of fun and frustration but think I at least have the basics figured out on the phone.
Have a good one.

The mosquitoes were out yesterday afternoon. I was sitting on the back steps trying to get Frosty to come in the house and not fight with the neighbors tomcat. The mosquitoes ran me in the house. After the 1st that tomcat is going to the clinic if I can catch him. All of our cats are fixed but he comes over and fights with them anyway. CC's not dumb. That cat growled at him and he headed for the house like his tail was on fire. lol

It is so humid that everything outside is wet. I don't see any rain on the radar but they say a 30% chance of rain.

I was going to look for some curtain insulated backing for the curtain I block off my cab with but decided to just get another set of insulated curtains from Walmart and put them back to back. That curtain makes a big difference when it's really cold.

No plans for today. Guess I could work on cleaning my office. I filled up the trashcan the other day and didn't make a dent.

Good Morning! This is the first morning I’ve been home by myself for a quite a few days. My sister left yesterday. I love my sister but she can drive me crazy. She’s a Martha Stewart and a TV remote hog. I am so sick of watching food network cooking shows!
I feel so sorry for so many in the northern part of South Dakota. They have been without power since Christmas Day. Brings back flashbacks of 2005 when we had an ice storm and lost power for a week and it was miserable. This time we lucked out with just rain and thunder! Plus a beautiful rainbow toward sunset! That’s something you don’t expect here in December.
I didn’t get a chance on Christmas Day to tell you how much all of you mean to me on a daily basis. I check in everyday even though I don’t post. The comradery among this group is so unique. We share good times and bad…and always there for each other. While I’m not a traveler I am a campground hostess for anyone who wants a spot at my home for a night or a couple days. I have always enjoyed everyone’s visits.
Have a good day and safe travels to those on the road.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Pat, maybe your sister can visit my sister and they can fight over the remote. The last campout with her I was ready to throw up if she watched another Hallmark movie. The only cooking show I ever watch is Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. After a week end of the cake shows and cupcake wars I could throw one at her.

Thanks Judy, but I have no desire to get away from the cold, snow etc., Sunshine and warm temps year around are not my cup of tea. My fur kids would hate being where it's warm too. I could handle maybe a couple two or three weeks in March, but that's all. I remember the years we used to have to go to FL for the holidays cause my grandparents lived down there. We usually spent a week at an Oceanside hotel, compliments of a company my dad made deliveries to for the tool and die shop he worked for. But after that week, I couldn't wait to get home. Grandma's place was so boring as they did nothing but sit around. Got to a point where I quit going down and stayed up here.
