Dang it's cold!

Not a whole lot going on around here, just popping in to say a mid-month Hi! and hoping everyone is staying warm, and getting ready for whatever type of holiday you celebrate. Have a good day everyone and stay safe on the roads.

Morning Cheryl and all,

Cold here as well. Wind is blowing at 20 mph, with gusts to 30, wind chill is -5 and it's snowing on top of that. Schools are closed here today. Visibility is down to about .3 miles. In other words, good day to stay inside. I have a mammogram scheduled for this morning. I think I will reschedule. Not safe out there on the roads.Got plenty to keep me busy in the house here.

Judy, hope Dell was able to straighten out your computer and you won't lose anything. Beth, travel safe today. Will be looking forward to hearing about your adventures at your new volunteer job. Liz, keep the great pictures coming. CArol, looks like you were going to have a great exploring day yesterday. O'Sharon, get the long johns out.

Off to call the hospital and cancel. Can't even see the neighbors garage across the road. Not going outbin this. Have a good day all.

Yes, it is very cold and going into single digits tonight. I am driving Josef up to Columbus so he can spend the winter with his co-owner/breeder and go to some shows with her. If I can get the kayaks loaded in these temperatures and still have my fingers I am hoping to head south on I-75 tomorrow afternoon with Remi and Audrey. I have seen snow. I am walking around the house in winter layers and a wool hat and I am questioning why I didn't leave last month but Josef knows the answer to that. He wanted to see Cleveland in winter. Silly boy. Last year it was Audrey wanting to see Spaniel Club in January. Now it is Remi and I wanting to take walks and not freeze.......

Good Morning from Myakka River State Park,

Ladies, I would gladly give you warmer temps with humidity thrown in for free - especially yesterday. Liz and I did a 5 mile hike starting at 8 a.m. and then had ice cream for lunch!! Tina, hope you get on the road as planned. Safe travels!

This morning we are having chore time. Perhaps the Bird Walk or ? later this afternoon. This park is full of birds and gators! Great bicycling (tho mine isn't out).

Make it a great day - stay safe and warm!

Good Morning to All - sorry about all the cold weather, hope it warms up a little soon. Here we will have another beautiful day. In the low 80s and but the humidity is starting to creep up again. Cools way down at night, as I write this Bill has the furnace running...ugh.
Beth will you still be in AZ in March? Yesterday we drug two friends up into the interior outside of Mazatlan. To three little very Mexican towns. Went to a bakery and got lots of delicious pastries - really wish I could literally share them. We got them right out of the wood burning oven.
Today is going to be a quiet day. I'm tuckered out. And we have to wait for the upholstery man to deliver the couch back cushions. Then we'll be done with that.
Stay warm and stay safe and enjoy life.

I wish I could have gone on that outing with you Carol...sounds really interesting. Maybe some winter I'll follow you awhile.

Thistle and I got out early for a walk before the sun broke through the fog. The humidity is very high, and it doesn't take long to start feeling it on a hike. It was foggy and cool for about an hour. Then I turned back.

Today I need to do some house cleaning, and take my bedding to the laundry if I get ambitious enough. Right now it's second cup of coffee time.

We are supposed to get a cool front through later this week, so maybe that will make it comfortable.

Good Morning Everyone !! just got back from a long walk, I mean long as I have not done much, this past year. I ran away Monday for major part of this week, I am at CG I found last Spring it's out in the woods, plenty of walking areas. Im a country person and I can't do much city type visiting. Which is mostly what I've done since being here this year, my sis and DH, I've felt a need to visit them more and longer periods and my grands are crestfallen when they hear I'm leaving but can't do that to myself, have to get out and away, I'm not liking Fl much, haven't really since we moved years ago, and this year, I'm having a bad time dealing with the heat, the traffic and so many many people everywhere !!!! More changes everywhere also and it breaks my heart. So, on my really nice walks out here I've discovered this was a lot of my problem and I will just have to deal with it but space my city visiting better. This park is really nice, so peaceful and nice people or the two men I've chatted with were   I was determined to see the boardwalk, guy fishing and while we chatted a gator came up at end of his line, so if he'd caught anything gator probably would have gotten it first. It was quite a walk down there and then to have to come back, wondered about my brain functions , but I was determined and made it fine. I just need to get out and walk more, haven't much this past year and not walking out in nature is really bad for me, not just physically but mentally !! (Sorry about Monday !!!)

I leave here tomorrow afternoon, and go back to DDs for granddaughters dance program, then SAt back to my sisters until Christmas eve then a another week at DDs for Christmas and stay with kids for school vacation and then I'm out of there heading for Hardee, probably be past ready to be out in country again !! I may have to add some time to my stay to get me back together again

Tina, I loved your post, sorry but had a smile on my face, was thinking of you last night wondering just how long you were going to stay up with all that snow. Have safe travels down BUT don't bring any of that artic stuff with you, just a wee cool stuff, not white  Looking forward to seeing you amd Remi and Audrey. also thinking Sarah should be heading down too, she's cold up there, needs to come down and wear shorts with us :D

Enough rambling, writing a few cards, something I've always loved doing and enjoy, need to finish up today. Also figure out if I have something nice to wear for dance Friday night, that FITS. If not Fri. Will have to shop UGH !!!

Enjoy your day everyone , stay safe whatever and wherever you are. In the snow, Stay warm !!!
CArol

Liz, beat me in, that cool front coming probably be, if we're lucky at least 10 degrees cooler. Beautiful here this morning though. Sun coming through trees gorgeous and temp still comfortable

It's 59 here and the low over night was 58. It probably won't get much warmer today but the rain has moved off.

I need to go clean out my car so I can put the big kennel in to take Hank for his shot. I am taking CC to get vaccinated too. I had to put CC out for a while this morning. He was on high and terrorizing everyone. He kicked the stuffing out of his fox toy so I had to sew it up again. That is a dog toy. I don't think it would have lasted very long with a dog if a kitten can tear it up. I got a heavier duty toy at Walmart yesterday. I'm going to put it in a bag with the catnip to make it more attractive to him.

Carol, the fresh pastries sound good. About the only thing I buy is an Apple Fritter at Walmart if they have any. They have started putting chocolate on some. Yuck! I don't want chocolate on my Apple Fritter. It's probably a good thing they seldom have one I can buy. There is a doughnut shop in town but they are closed by the time I get to town.

Some of Harold's friends came by with a bag of sweet potatoes from up state. They seem to think that potatoes from that area are the best. I am baking him some this morning. I will eat one sometimes but I don't want one every day.

Tina, hope you can get South of the snow.

CArol, sounds like you need to regroup. I can't take too much commotion either. I couldn't go to my sister's at all if I didn't have my RV to escape to. Hope you have something to wear because I think most of the clothes in the stores now are terrible. The material is so thin you can almost see through it. A lot of the jeans have a faded area on the front. I'll fade my own jeans, thank you. At the mall the other day there was a some of capris that looked like someone had already worn them out.

I'm canceling appointments today too. No point in going out if I don't absolutely have to! This is the kind of weather that makes me glad I'm not still working. Well, ok, I'm always glad I'm not still working!

Good morning gals! :D
Working later this afternoon but have lots of things to do before then.

I found an ad on CL for a room/bath to rent in San Marcos/Escondido in February. I have been in contact thru email with the lady and it sounds promising. She is a little older than me and retired. It sounds like a very nice apartment complex with pool/hot tub, etc. Will be calling her today and chatting to get some questions answered. For $750 per month (includes all utilities), I would get a large bedroom with my own bath. She has no pets but would let me have Lola there (says she loves cats!) so Lola would have run of the whole apartment. It would be 15-20 minutes from where I will be working (with my old manager in Poway), so a good location! (and 15-20 minutes to the ocean!) With the increase in hourly pay there and full-time hours, I could easily afford that! Sounds promising!

Nothing else new here. Weather is perfect. Just wish I had money/gas to go out and enjoy it more. Too much time and not enough money! Hoping I can get some extra hours at another shop in the next week or two.

Those in the cold, stay warm and cozy inside! Those in the heat and humidity, stay cool! The rest of us out west, enjoy!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Yes, it's cold here this morning....55*.....sky is clear and blue...my daughter is out in the swim pool right now....9AM!
I too am glad to be retired....I had a dream last night that I was still working and couldn't find my new assignment and was going all over the hospital looking for the right room! And, I have been retired 21 years!
I am still thankful that I do not have to work on holidays anymore!
I am so looking forward to the FL Hillsborough GTG. Hoping to meet as many of you Ladies as possible!
Off to my luncheon of old retired swim instructures....many have passed on, we are getting so old!

Good morning all! Brrrrrr it's cold here in N. Central CA - 50 and foggy. This winter seems to be colder and wetter than the other two winters I have lived in this area. I usually stay inside when it's this cold unless there's shopping to do.
Have a great day. Maybe a trip to AZ coming up???

And Linda, come to Quartzsite in January and warm up!
