Monday Again

Morning all,

Here we are, back to Monday again. Where'd last week go. In two weeks, Christmas will be over and we will be heading toward New Years.

Been a snowy week here. Has snowed every day since last Wednesday and this week more of same. No big amounts at one time, but it does add up. 3 inches here, 5 inches there. So White Christmas here for sure. Some of you have been wondering how those of us in the north can take all this cold, snow etc. We were born here, it's a way of life. We have thicker blood, the clothes, the equipment and the know how to deal with it. People for the most part embrace it, having their favorite winter sports or pastimes and when they have had enough, they head south for the winter. Isn't really any different than we wondering how you in the south, can live with the heat, humidity and weather you have. 'I often wonder what it's like for those who live farther north yet, where ice and cold are pretty much year around.

Off to town today before colder air and more lake effect snow move in later tomorrow. Time to stock the fridge again, Mail Christmas cards and also want to pay property taxes. Hope you all have a nice day.

Good morning to all. To answer one part of your question. about 90% of the snowbirds here in Mexico are from Canada. They get here early and leave late. The other 10 % of US people mostly come from the northern states. We are a rarity coming from southern Nevada. Which to Bill is cold!
Last night we went out to dinner in the plaza, eating outside in t shirts and shorts. There were 8 of us two couples were Canadian and one other couple was from Prescott, AZ. And another nice things about here is there are no bugs - at least in Mazatlan.
The Mexican natives are all bundled up in long pants, heavy coats and hats. At 76 it is cold for them. And we do run our little heater at night to keep the chill off.
Come on down. Safer here than Vegas. Bill had a huge salad with grilled chicken, I had grilled fish fillet, rice and salad. Soft drinks and tortillas and bread. $15. Entertainment throughout the evening. Who could ask for more. The RV park is $15 a day if you pay by the month. If we decide to leave before the month is up. We can use the rest of we paid for on the way back or next year. No refunds.
Stay warm and travel safe.

Good Morning Everyone !! Just checking in , Too busy :) Christmas is almost here and I am NOT ready !!! And you all will think I'm crazy, but I am missing my white Christmas too. The last one that Maggie and I had in our home, had my small tree up, we played in the snow, it was more snow that year then what is usual there and we ended up snowed in our yard for two weeks. Snow froze and higher then my car bumper, Road up to highway was iced. But I didn't mind it and of course she didn't either. So, I would like a do over on that Christmas!!! Or better yet earlier years !! :)

December is not my friend this year. Having a hard time getting out of my mood and that's unusual for me, as I usually can stay out of downer days easy. Dec is the last month my DH lived, 15th our anniv would have been 44 years and I'm missing him. 19 th Maggie will be gone a year. My Sis and her hubby are not doing great either. So a do over of years back when my aches and pains were much less and everything mattered more would be great !!!

Sorry about this you all, I have no one else to tell as my family would only worry and they all have to much now. I expect to be ok soon, telling someone your deepest sorrows sometimes helps, right ??? I've not been this deep in ages.

CArol, Christmas is emotionally difficult on a lot of people. Don't be too hard on yourself. Let the good memories keep you going. Find things to be grateful for each day. And we are here for everyone for any reason, and we have all gone thru tough times on here so don't feel bad about letting it out here. That is what friends are for! We all love and support you!

Nothing much new here. Weather is nice. My roommate's daughter will be here from CA on Wednesday for 2 weeks so that will rev things up around here! She is 21 and a model and actress.

I should be getting extra hours at another shop next week so that will help. No news on the theft yet.

Hope you all had a nice weekend!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good morning all. Well, Sue, you were so right! We are in this crazy storm too! Snow yesterday and rain today so you can imagine how heavy it is! Just came in from getting the sidewalk and driveway done. It is really wet underneath the snow! But the upside is that it's good snowball or snowman snow! The dogs love it when I throw snowballs for them! The funniest part is when they splat and fall apart and they can't find it!

CArol, I can understand how you feel. April is my bad month. If you want a white Christmas I can almost guarantee we'll have one and you're more then welcome to join me! I complain about the snow but really don't mind it. But don't tell anyone I said that! As long as I can shovel and snowblow I'm kinda okay with it! So, CArol, be gentle with yourself and know we are here for you.

Time to get something done inside now! Enjoy your day and travel safe.

Good morning all. A chilly day in Minnesota. We had a nice snowfall from Saturday evening through Sunday evening. About 10 inches on the ground. Today started bright and cold with below zero temps. We got my sister settled in Tucson and registered as a patient with the University of Arizona Oncology department. My sister who lives in Tucson flew to Minneapolis, stayed over night and flew back the next morning with the patient. The new oncologist did not feel she should resume her chemo yet. Her health had declined so bad that he said the 4th round of chemo would be detrimental to her health. We then drove out with BIL to get their 5th wheel out to Yuma where it is parked on our lot. DH got much needed dental work done in Algadones and we got to enjoy our winter home for 5 days before heading back to Minnesota. Neither of us wanted to be away for Christmas. Grand daughter is 18 months old and this is so exciting for her this year. Her other grandpa plays Santa Claus and each time she sees a Santa anywhere she points to him and says, "Papa Bob". I got the tree up and lots of decorations. No outdoor lights anymore. I did tons of lights in the past but it is always too cold in January to take the outdoor decorations down. Now I decorate the windows! Have to do some Christmas baking yet. Then at the end of January we will head back to Yuma to this time just enjoy ourselves.

CArol, I wish you could have come with us!! In the past, this was a hard month, but it got easier. However, our 50th wedding anniversary would have been the 30th. Given a comment Steven made after his diagnosis, it's been rather hard all year. I'll be glad to see January.

Liz and I have had an amazing day here at Myakka River State Park. Here's a link to one of my FB albums: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... e9e9179310

Internet is iffy so we are at the concessionaire using their free Wi-Fi.
