Lake Effect Thursday

Morning all,

Finally got up, made breakfast and now watching the weather folks talking about the good old lake effect snow machine that's cranking up. Going to be good day to stay in and work in projects. O'Sharon, you aren't the only one who should be doing cards. I have a few to send out as well. My list has shrunk dramatically, but there are a few friends I still keep in touch with via cards and there is the change of addres I need to let them have.

Anybody interested in breakfast, I have eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, can make French toast. Also strawberries. Have milk and tea, but you will have to bring your own coffee since I don't drink it. Have a nice day, keep warm if it's getting colder by you, have fun at any GTG's or just enjoy your day.

Well, look what I found when I was out yesterday!

I've been looking for a pair of affordable red boots since I wore out my last pair a decade ago. I loved those boots and wore them literally to pieces. (Yes, they do make red Wellingtons, but they cost more than I am willing to pay for a pair of boots.)

And there they were, when I was looking for something else entirely! Good thing, too, since it looks like snow today.

The weather man says we have reached our high today and it will be down hill for the rest of the day. It started out at 54 and it's now 50. But, at least it's not snow.

Harold knows how to get me up. He brought CC in when he came back from the barn. CC is like having a 2 year old show up at your house. I had to get up and supervise. He has managed to lose 2 balls and the catnip mouse. I got a long dog toy and put catnip in it and he is fighting with that now.

I need to go see if I have any of the RV antifreeze to put in the drain traps and put up the curtain to close off the cab. I'm glad I can run the heat and don't have to get all the water out. There aren't any planned campout around here until January.

Good mornin from a cool and very windy Canyon Lake, Texas. Martha, you have us beat on temps as we are at 47 and not going higher today. Sun is partly doing its job. Have winter maintenance to be done on the rig and a couple of other things and then I am headed 'Souther'. The valley will be cool today but be back in the low 80's this weekend and I want to feel that! Planning a little fun foray to Wimberly's Saturday sale with 2 or 3 friends. Today will visit RV repair place and talk about what and when. Will wear my fleece lined pants and 20 hundred sweaters. More coffee coming up. Be safe on the road and have fun where ever you are! :)

Anita and Martha... How I, too, love sleeping in. It's going to say 10 here soon and I'm not out of bed yet. I especially love when I have the time read here and FB with no hurry to get up. Thankfully Peaches sleeps in if I do.

Yesterday was the auction here. I attended 2 years ago and had a ball so was happy to go back. Prior donate new or handmade items and both a live and silent auction are held. The money collected hours to the rec center. Then there isn't the need to charge for entertainment, etc. Two years ago I bid on and got a quilted jacket that I love. This year I bid on a few things but stick to my guns and didn't get too excited and bid more than I could afford to. There was a ceramic eagle no one was bidding on, so I did and got it. No idea whether I'll keep it or pass it on.

Time to get my day going, I guess. Have fun, where ever you are.

Am a nervous wreck this morning. I closed last night with another stylist. I helped her count the drawer and gave her the money to put in the safe. Now that money is missing. So we are both being held accountable for it. The owner checked the security cameras and now say that based on what they saw on the cameras, the police are now involved. I know I did nothing wrong, but it still makes me nervous. I don't have a key to the shop nor have I been given the combination to the safe, so if someone came in after we closed, then I will be totally off the hook. I hope they resolve this soon! I hate being "accused" of something I didn't do.

It is very slightly cooler here in southwestern Florida, especially at night. Last night it went down to 61 and is supposed to go down to 57 tonight, which really helps with the biting critters, no matter what the daytime temperature. I wish it would rain so I could go out with a towel and dry off my dirty motorhome. I could at least get the top clean that way.

Taking care of a lot of odds and ends today. Refilled my prescriptions so I can pick them up tomorrow when I make a grocery trip. Scheduled oil change at Camping World for Monday morning. Found an electric bike shop that works on electric bikes. Will drop it off on Thursday on my way to Myakka. Extended my Grand Canyon stay next June by a couple of extra days. It is expensive at trailer village, but worth it to me. Meeting my son and family there, but will get there a few days early to have to myself. They are staying in hotel for three days, so I will have one kid each night. Now I just need to call the post office about General Delivery!

Whew! I really need to do some vacuuming and dusting, but that will have to wait until I get grades in next week.

It's definitely cooler here in Sarasota and has been cloudy too. Perfect for me to play tennis. We finally have a hot water heater and can shower and wash dishes in the rv. Doesn't take much to make me happy. Will be leaving the 18th on a cruise til the 27th so hope I can get to Myakka on the 17th to say hello. Barbara, keeping my fingers crossed that the missing $ issue is resolved quickly. I would not like that hanging over my head. Ava, hope your retirement issues get settled quickly too. carold

Yikes, Barbie, scary. I hope the cameras vindicate you and whoever is accountable is caught.

Started defrosting my way frozen freezer today and had a knock on my door. My friend Ginger stopped by. She sat and watched me making messes lol. Luckily she didn't take any pictures. As she was leaving I discovered storage in the whole thing Peaches water dish got knocked over without noticing... It went under my sofa, which is storage. Ginger left and I cleaned up that.. Luckily not as bad as feared, and finished the freezer. I can buy no more meat until I use all that's in there!!!

Weather is pretty darn nice here in Yuma, not too hot. 67 today but sitting in the sun it feels way warmer. Will be in the 70's starting tomorrow. Enjoying visiting with my friends here for this coming week then we will all go our separate ways. I will be making my way east, need to decide where to hang out until time for Quartzsite.

Went to Mexico for our dental appointments yesterday so today we are both pretty darn sore but drugs are my friend for the next few days. Good thing I love mashed potatoes and soup.
