Good Morning to all. It continues to get pretty cold here in San Carlos at night. We run the little heater all night. But the days are mid-80s - just perfect. Not even real humid here right on the Sea of Cortez. Went out to dinner last night with an American couple from California who have a home in Belize but are right now living in San Carlos. Known them for several years. We've had people come up and ask us what happened to the big Alfa. They don't know us but have seen us in the Rv park through the years, but they recognize the Jeep. We'll be here until Thursday then will head further south. No plans yet except to hit the road.
Even Vegas is getting cold now. Glad we're here.

Chilly here this morning also but will be in the low 70's today and climb back up daily from there. I'll be heading into NM and higher elevations, so need to get used to the chill.

I'm getting ready to head to a local church that invited me (and everyone at the park I'm staying) for a Thanksgiving dinner.

Then home to put things away and tidy up the rv so it's ready to be driven to Ford tomorrow. What day I get on the road will depend on what the weather is saying. But Tuesday through Friday... One of those will happen.

Good morning Everybody from beautiful Kino Bay. My friend, Judy, and I met up with my rving buddies in Tucson and rode with them to Kino Bay. People remember us from last year and are very welcoming. We've checked out some of our favorite eating places and walked the beach. Not gathering shells this year. I have more than enough from last year. Life is good. Enjoy today. Peggy

Good Morning, 10 minutes left :D Chilly here too, but beautiful outside. Think I'm the only one the chill is bothering, kids are running around in shorts. I'm at my DDs. No swimming today for sure !! Deciding on Thanksgiving menu, have extra people besides family, so will be a nice crowd here.

I'm having a lazy like day. Kids have the whole week off school so I timed getting here right. They were sooo happy to see me, really made my heart feel good. I'm kind of a strick GM, I have some rules but kids love me lots anyway, loved my reception yesterday . After couple months of being alone its nice to be here.

Well off here and join in their doings. Have a great day everyone !

I wish it were colder here. Sorry, Florida, but I am seriously considering leaving. I have another 15 or so mosquito or no-see-um bites, and the first 20+ have still not gone away, so I am a mess of red spots. I stayed inside on Thursday, dumped tanks covered up with long pants and long-sleeved shirt, and drove on Friday, then went outside to take trash yesterday and was outside only 30 minutes and got all those bites. I had even sprayed myself good with repellant although I was wearing shorts and t-shirt. So how come everyone else is walking around in shorts and t-shirt and is not getting bit, but I am??

And these are not little bite marks, but big red welts. I am going to do two things tomorrow: 1) head for an urgent care center to see if they can give me prednisone or something to calm this down, and 2) find somewhere to pick up a bunch of unscented stuff like soap, shampoo, baby powder, hand cream, etc. And they are now biting my face and hands! They sting and burn and also itch enough to keep me awake at night. Last night at 3:00 am, I finally washed off all the lanocaine cream stuff and put on more Benadryl gel, plus I took one Benadryl pill and half a vicodin to get rid of the itch and sting.

I don't really know if I want to stay in Florida for the next three months if I have to spend all my time inside and itching! I could go up into Georgia, but the stuff I want to see is here, not there, so I would just be wasting time there, but at least I would be comfortable. Anyway, maybe a doctor has some solutions.

Hope everyone else is doing better than I am!! :(

Judy, so sorry you're having so much trouble about bites. Almost sounds like an allergy or reaction to something. Whatever it is sure hope you find relief and answers at Urgent Care.

Good Luck, don't want you to leave and miss GTGs

Judy, using all unscented products could very well help - as bugs are attracted to the scents. And those scented products aren't good for you either. Another idea is to try drinking some apple cider vinegar regularly. Not sure why, but I have friends that swear it does the trick and the bugs leave them alone.

Just came from the church - went to their service and had their Thanksgiving dinner. I feel so lucky to have been invited and although the service was in Spanish, I can say I never felt more welcome in any other church. Everyone shook my hand and smiled - some more than once while I was there. The music was great. And they had someone singing during dinner. Wonderful time. I'm sorry I won't be here for Christmas - the park makes baskets for them, I discovered. And one person here told me their Christmas pageant is spectacular. It's not a fancy church by any means - but like the people in the neighborhood I've met, it's a very welcoming place.

Now Peaches is begging for a walk (and I need to work off some of this food) and then I need to spend time getting the rig ready to be driven.

Good Afternoon,

CArol, glad you have arrived at your daughter's! I was wishing you were nearby and could ride to Clearwater with me one day this week. Judy, that many bites using repellant is worrisome. Peggy, sounds like a great place to be with good company. Liz, Wendy and Sarah having a good time! Beth, hope the travel weather cooperates. Sounds like a very nice church - what denomination?

I had to make a run to Penney's and Kohl's this morning - shoppers are out in droves already!! I walked down to the lake last evening hoping to see the weather satellite launch, but it was delayed - did launch an hour later so if I'd known, I probably could have seen it from my site. Did see an alligator swimming in the lake.

I have a photo album I take to our family reunion every two years and it was quite out of date. Always fun to listen in when the younger generation looks at it. Ordered prints yesterday and picked them up this morning. That'll be one project complete. Got out a runner I was hand quilting - hadn't gotten too far so ripped it out and will do it on the machine!

Have a good rest of the day!

Judy I think you have hives. It doesn't sound like bug bites, but hives can be triggered by bug bites. See the link I've attached. Certain medications can cause them. Also if you are spraying the bug repellent on your skin that could be a cause. You are not supposed to use the Benadryl pill and the gel at the same time it says on the label. If you would consider alternative treatments, a good Chinese trained acupuncture doctor could help. Your immune system is probably compromised and having acupuncture can strengthen it.

Thanks for everyone's concern. I'm headed to urgent care tomorrow. Hopefully, someone will give me prednisone. And I am not taking the full oral dose of Benadryl so I can put a tiny dab on some bites.

BJ, hives makes a lot of sense ...

Anita the church is the Emmanuel Baptist Church.

I must say it's hard to get much work done when I eat a large meal at noon time! But I should be okay for the drive in the morning ... and I have actually sorted a couple places out and tossed some garbage!!! It's been a long time since I unhooked from the rig instead of from the parks equipment lol - I best be wide awake in the morning or I'll be doing unnecessary work.
