Good Morning,

As Carolb says, been AWOL here for a few days. Had company since Thursday and they just left for home ahead of Winter Storm Argos. Got a Card Club to go to this afternoon at home. Supposed to have 1-4 inches of snow here, possibly bit more, but it's the winds that will cause problems. Gusts to 40. Same kind of storm that sank the Edmund Fitzgerald on Lake Superior 41 years ago. 30 foot waves expected on Lake Superior. So I've been finishing up a few outdoor things including putting up some Christmas lights on the house.

Been reading on here despite not posting though. Tina congrats on the Champions status for your four legged ones. Ava, glad you are better and back to work. Donna, I like your idea of donating rather than doing garage sale etc. Much less work and can take it off on taxes. CArol, glad you made it safe to FL. Barb, hope things straighten out at work for you. Don't remember what all else was going on this week.

Off, to get into something around here, not sure just what though. Might watch some movies today too. Who knows. Have a nice day everyone.

Good morning ladies
We had our yearly Thanksgiving luncheon at work yesterday. It
always turns out nice but I'm very careful not to over eat.
Having a dinner guest today so I'm working up the energy to dust
and run the vacuam. Everything else is done, then can get a shower
and wash my hair.
I screwed up at the store last evening, I did a cash back when I
bought groceries,,,forgot to grab it! So mad at myself, and of course
it wasn't there, the next guy got. So this issue woke me up several
times during the night being upset with myself. I'm trying to convince
myself the next guy might have been on their last few $$ and it was
a gift from an angel ($40 me) I'm not penniless anymore and I have
a job, so there ya go. I am still angry with myself though.
Guess I better get busy so I can get the crockpot going in a couple
hours.
Y'all have a great day, be safe and hoping you have good weather.

Good Morning!

Sue, I actually know about the Edmund Fitzgerald! :o Sounds like quite a storm. Pat already has some winter. Alice, nice spin you put on the money situation - I know I'd be kicking myself, but great way to look at it. Curious, did you go to customer service to see if next person might have turned it in? Martha, I'd like it to cool off just a little. When it hits 80, I get nothing done including walking because I don't get in gear when it's still cool in the a.m.

I'm just ready for my second cuppa. Looks like some football and quilting today.

Make it a great day and safe travels.

Dang, Alice, that hurts, I know. Good attitude about it, though.

It feels like winter in S Texas - only going to be 65 today... haha. But with the winds that came in overnight walking Peaches was dang cold this morning. I went from a sundress yesterday to long pants and long sleeves with a sweatshirt over this morning! I like the cool nights - great sleeping weather, but like the warmer days, too. So made a cup of hot chocolate for myself.

Been working to catch up on my blog posts from the summer - got through SD now :) ... Want to be up-to-date before I leave here next week, but no guarantees, as the wifi here is iffy - especially if lots are on it. And I don't do them using my data - with the amount of pictures I upload, I'd run out and refuse to up my data. Limited keeps me off here more. And saves me from all the darling pet etc cute posts on FB, and more so all the political ones.

Anita, I, too, know about the Edmund Fitzgerald!

Sue, keep safe and warm. You always have so many projects, you tire me out!

Moved from Sebastian Inlet to WP Franklin here in Florida. There are not too many COE campgrounds in Florida, but this is one of them, and nice senior discount. It is also right on the Caloosahatchee River that is the navigable waterway between the Atlantic and Ft Myers. Most importantly, there don't seem to be a lot of mosquitos or noseeums. My legs and arms are really covered by bites and I have been having a rough time sleeping because of the stinging and itchy. Last night was pretty good, however.

I have been using a bunch of different creams for the bites, but I finally was able to get some Benadryl Gel and really like it. The best thing about it is that you put a dab on each spot and then in about five minutes it dries instead of getting wiped off as the creams do. This is especially important as I have a lot of bites on the back of my legs and thighs, so it does not rub off when I sit down. I was about to go into urgent care today, but most of itching and stinging is gone this morning, so I can stay home and relax and enjoy the fresh-squeezed orange juice I bought!

Lots of work to do today, but I am rested after a good night's sleep, so feel good about everything.

If you are not familiar with the Edmund Fitzgerald, or even if you are, here is a nice video of the story and a storm on Lake Superior along with the Gordon Lightfoot song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgI8bta-7aw If you ever go to Detroit, on Belle Isle, which is now a state park, you can see the anchor from this ship. It was the biggest ship on the Great Lakes when it sank--over 1000 feet long. Also, if you are ever in downtown Detroit, there is a little stone church next to the big GM building on the riverfront called Mariner's Church. It memorializes the 6,000 shipwrecks and 30,000 lives lost on the Great Lakes, and it is worth a visit.

Not morning here but figured I'd jump in. As Carolb and Sue said, been awol for a bit. Been trying to get the outside work finished up before winter arrives! And looks like today's the day! I was so proud of myself that I had most all the leaves raked up in front and back driveway plus mowed and bagged the yard yesterday in the 70 degree weather. I left earlier to run into State College for dog food and a couple other things, it was 62 and sunny. Got in the car and headed home and got hit with ferocious wind. The further west I went the wind got worst and I could watch the temp dropping plus I could actually see the front moving in. Pretty fascinating! Of course when I got home the leaves were back! Someone's yard is bare cause they're all in my yard now! :!:

I did manage to get Lola covered the other day so she should be good until spring. I'll be traveling vicariously through some of you in the milder climates for awhile. Alice, I imagine you are kicking yourself but good attitude about your $$. You may have just made someone's day. Beth and Liz, been enjoying the photos of your travels. Tina, bet you're proud of your pups!

Well, time to get started with a couple of chores inside now or maybe I'll just curl up with my book for awhile! Seems like that kind of day! Enjoy your day and the rest of the week end and if you are on the road, travel safe.
