use it, but I'm grateful its available.
So, no news but I'll be reading posts and whatever else to keep
myself entertained.
Y'all have a good day, be safe.

Good morning Ava and everyone... I still have the estate sale deal with... I took my first load over yesterday and have the car packed ready to take another load ...but today I'm going to go to Sebastian and meet up with JudyJB I love meeting up with all you girls and your travels.... It's relatively close for me to meet with Judy I'm only about 30 minutes away so that's pretty much my day... have a good one

Morning! Alice I just finished reading about blocked salivary glands. Sounds very painful. I hope you are able to cure it at home. Donna, you have a good time with Judy today. The house will be there when you’re ready. You don’t have a deadline do you?

I did bite the bullet and buy the Ford Escape. Picked it up yesterday. I did get them to come down $1000 on the price and then started talking trade in. I am going to sell my Taurus myself. The manager at the dealership first offered me $350 for my Taurus. I looked him straight in the eye and said Bullshit! Then he asked for the keys to drive it and came back and offered me $850 and walked away. My salesman was embarrassed and told me to sell it myself and a fair asking price was between 3500 and 4000. So I have to get it spiffed up and put a for sale sign in the window and take some pictures and post it on the local area Facebook buy and sells.

Our nice weather is coming to an end. It is supposed to be in the mid 60’s today then tomorrow there are blizzard warnings for parts of the state. From the weather map it looks like we’re not going to get a major hit…sure hope the weatherman is right! I really don’t want to have to try out the 4 wheel drive on the Escape yet!

Well I have to get the post office and bank so I better get crackin. Have a good day everyone.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Good Morning Everyone !! Reached my destination and having somewhat of a lazy morning. Still thinking if today is day for hair fixing or not. Tomorrow is my sisters therapy day to work at getting the use of her right arm back after her fall in August. They don't give to much hope for her hand, but there is a brace that will help hold it so fingers can be used somewhat. Her arm and shoulder are hard work and no guarantees but she is a VERY determined person !! So I stay and we visit today or I go and get hair done? Thinking visit, and hair tomorrow while she is gone. Hmmmmm

Ava, so sorry you've got a new type crud to inform us all about, gotta stop this lady. Sorry you're using sick time for it, do you get reimbursed for it ?? When I left library, lost all sick hours I had accumulated, frowned on when you were sick and had to use any. Left with 400 some odd, was a bad deal, and one I will always think was unfair. Vac time we got, Guess they felt ok with the deal. Probably different now, I hope.

On with the day, enjoy however any of you can,
Stay safe,
CArol

Good morning to All - well we are one sleep away from Mexico. We'll head out early tomorrow morning. Yesterday we went to immigration and did all the paperwork necessary so we won't have to do that tomorrow. Also picked up the insurance for both vehicles and last minute "oh we forgot thats."
Tomorrow will be a long driving day, for us any way. 288 miles from park here in Amado,AZ to park in San Carlos, Sonora, AZ. Hope it continues to be cloudy with no wind. Doesn't make for good pictures but more pleasant riding.
Today will be laundry day, and putting everything US away and getting out everything Mexico.
I slept in this morning and missed what was probably the prettiest sunrise since we've been here. Lots of clouds in the sky. Oh well.
Bill still has his deep bad sounding cough, but refuses to go to doctor. Maybe when we get in Mexico he'll go.
Wishing nice weather and safe driving to all. I'll be keeping the blog up while we are in Mexico - probably with lots of pictures.

Good Morning....Alice, hope you are able to rid yourself of that stone...it does sound painful.

The full moon this week was spectacular....wish I could have been in the desert to see it. Sheila, did you enjoy it?

One of the condos across the street put up Christmas lights two weeks ago!!!

Our weather has been very nice lately. Warm in the afternoon and cool in the morning.

Casey continues to wake me at 4 AM. I am not happy with the time change this year.

Did I tell you my widowed daughter has a boy friend now? Don't know where this is going.

I went to the local community college and got a manicure for $4 yesterday. They do hair cuts for $5. I will try that next.

That's all that is going on in my life right now. Lyn

Good morning
Woke up to very dense fog this morning. Should be a nice day once it burns off. In fact we are to have 2 days with near record high temps followed by major cold front(30 degree drop) and our first freezing temps by Sunday night. Not looking forward to the cold. At least the wind has shifted and the wildfire smoke is moving out (been under air quality alert since Friday).
CArol, the companyI worked for had discontinued paying for sick leave when one left work too and I agree very unfair - I lost almost 3000 hours when I retired.
Grocery shopping day and need to find a shoe repair shop. Sole has come loose on my favorite tennis shoe and cannot replace them as they have been discontinued. Hope I can get it fixed.
Still poking at paper war off and on. Not a war I'm likely to win any time soon. Seems I have been a paper hoarded for way too many years.

Pat, good luck on your car sale. I HATE, HATE, HATE to deal with car salesmen. Probably why I keep a vehicle 10 year or longer. By the time we finish with a vehicle no one wants it so I give it to my sister's boys. She has three that work on cars. They can keep a car running longer than anyone.

It's 83 today but suppose to go down to the 60's this weekend. That's about right. I signed up to go to the local state park with some friends. The Louisiana group has a campout in Ruston this weekend but I didn't feel like driving that far. When I made my reservation the park was almost completely booked up and for Thanksgiving weekend too.

I always thought of accumulated sick leave as another form of insurance. Sometimes it got used and sometimes is doesn't but it sure is reassuring to know you have it. It would only take one accident or disease to help you realize how nice it is not to worry about losing a pay check immediately. As a supervisor I had the savers and employees that would take off as soon as they knew they had earned another 8 hours. Those were the ones that got all upset when they actually did get ill or wanted to use FMLA but then would find out that they were off without pay....

Accumulated sick leave allowed me to stay with my husband for 3 months in a rehab hospital in another city after a spinal cord injury when his car was rear-ended. Then accumulated sick leave allowed me to continue to get a paycheck while going through months of cancer treatments. I hardly ever took a day off for being sick before that. You never know.

When I retire I only get a third of my sick leave in cash.
I've got almost 600 hours and was actually looking forward to
that little 1/3 to use as my first trip money. But its there if I
need it. The stone popped out a couple hours ago, it was weird
and I new it right away. Now for the swelling to go down everything
to return to normal. :-)

Glad to hear that resolved itself. Hope the swelling and pain go away quickly.

I just read that California has a new law about paid sick leave. You earn something like one hour per week, which for someone like me working for a company that doesn't offer sick leave, will now get it. (Did I mention I am moving back there in February?)

Wasn't too happy at work yesterday and today. When I got there yesterday, the new manager had "cleaned house" and rearranged and removed everything in the break room including personal stuff. I found my clippers but my scissors and special clipper guards were missing. Turns out she thought they belonged to a former stylist who moved to another shop and she had brought it over there. She drove there and picked up my box of stuff for me yesterday afternoon. However, the guards were missing as well as my box of waterproof band aides and my hand lotion. Then today I realized my brand new sweater is missing too. I left a note on the managers desk tonight about it.

Yesterday was slow so they asked me to come in two hours later. I reluctantly agreed since I was only scheduled for 24 hours this week as it was. Then today, I was scheduled from 9 to 5. At 2:30 I was asked to go home early since it got quiet. I refused. I need those hours and legally they can't make me leave early if I am scheduled for those hours. One of the other stylists left early instead.

OK, enough complaining about work... Won't say how I feel about my roommate playing Christmas music for the past 2 weeks and decorating the house tonight...

Anyways, got the next 3 days off and trying to find something free to do/see/explore to keep me busy!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
