Friday Excitement

I can't believe I'm the first. But then, the dog and I have already had lots of excitement this morning, so apparently it's that kind of day!
Poor Drew just knocked down one of the big heavy screens (eight feet tall, wood and metal) at the far end of my front room. It was very exciting for both of us.
NOT his fault! He was chasing the ball and skidded out of control. And yes, I did have them wired to eyebolts for added security, but that was too big of an impact. My bad. I should have beefed up that tether when he arrived.
He was really fast in dodging out of the way! Thank goodness! Then he ran to me and sat in my lap for a while. I like it that he thought I am his safe spot, even though he really is too big to be a lap dog.
So now we will have a second start for a quiet day.

Gmorning all:)
So I've missed much! Thoroughly enjoyed going along on the Mule Trip via all the wonderful pix--so glad y'all survived it:)
Been busy with last minute fall yard projects whenever there has been a break in the weather. Honestly, several days of rain, wind & just overall dreary weather about had me bonkers! Hard for me to focus on inside projects when I have unfinished business outside, so I become somewhat immobilized
And missing the road, so I'm happy (& envious) of those of you on your winter trips. Still need to get some engine work done on HB & still nursing Tigg to a healthier state with home cooking & baths. Things not easily done on the road, so being home is being a good doggie mom, if I say so myself
That's it! Y'all have a great day & be safe always

You are right about how neat it is to know that Drew considers you a safe place. And I don't know how many times I have had to shake my head at my poor judgement for throwing toys inside the house and watching the effects of doggy enthusiasm and athletic ability.
Primarily it has been items innocently left sitting on the antique wagon box that sits in front of the couch and watching said items fly as young dogs launch themselves from the couch to across the room or come flying from across the room and launch themselves to the back of the couch. At almost eleven Stuart can still do the later on a particularly "Zoomy" sort of evening......

Good Morning to All - we had our excitement yesterday - our first day of travel this winter. Took a corner too fast and something I'd left on the counter, a no no, flew off clipped the kitchen faucet and broke it and then hit the floor a put a little gouge in the flooring. Luckily we were on our way to Quartzsite, AZ where there are several mobile RV repair men. Had to buy a new - much much better faucet, and had it installed. Poor repair man had to be very agile. Could not reach it from under the sink. Of course not why make things easy. Had to remove the side drawers and work through those little openings. Oh well. Today we are just hanging around the RV park, hoping to meet up with a traveling friend. And watching NASCAR. Wrote about yesterday in the blog.

Not very exciting here. Just watching the boats wait their turn for the locks, here.
Yesterday, I went out to get a truck wash at Blue Beacon and then stopped for some clothing shopping, like I really need more shirts! Got one anyway. Also went to my cousins to use his HUGE top loading washer. It can hold three loads or a huge comforter, believe it or not. Only problem is that the tub is so deep that I cannot reach clothes at the bottom, so he had to unload it for me. Put 13 days worth of clothes in one load, and then sheets, towels, AND a medium-sized rug in a second load. Folded everything and put it in RV.
Best part of his house is that he has a three-car garage and hence, a three-car wide driveway, which is more than long enough for my motorhome. He and his wife sold their gated-community home where they were paying big bucks for a pool and clubhouse they never used and had nosy neighbors always checking up to see what rule they had broken. Now they have a much bigger house (was even cheaper) in a regular subdivision without any restrictions about what you park where and what you do! They ended up with an extra bedroom, extra half-bath, and a big office for his wife who works at home, plus just more overall size. He is disabled, so he just hires lawn service out and it is still cheaper than the old "fancy" neighborhood. Bigger lot, as well. And his daughter can even park her truck in the driveway.
Had fun talking to them all. Waiting right now for my pickup from Enterprise. I am renting a car with one of their $9.99 per day weekend specials. Three days for $40 with tax. Looking forward to running a bunch of small errands and exploring.

Had a nice long thunderstorm here yesterday afternoon. Love those! Altho it made things very slow at work.
Have today and tomorrow off. No plans so far other than tonight my roommate and I might go to check out a motorcycle rally in Mesa. Need to finish up my blog too, oh, and do laundry. So I guess I do have things to do!
Still having issues with my forearm. It is still numb on the surface. If I move it a certain way, I get like a pin prick/zapping feeling on it and then it hurts for awhile. Not a good feeling. Luckily it is not affecting my hand at all. Maybe a couple days off from work will help it some.
Hope you all have a great day! Carol, hoping you are done with Arvi issues for the rest of your trip!

Lots of excitement this morning!!! Louise, I laughed outloud about Drew jumping on your lap!!! I had a friend, many years ago with a very well trained search and rescue Doberman. We were watching a scary movie one night, when we both screamed out in fright, the doberman jumped on my friends lap!!!
Carolb, good for you...hoping Tigg improves his health with your input!!!
Carol and Bill, Q is a nice place to stop for a few days!!! Who s your favorite NASCAR driver?
JudyJB...good for your cousin!!! Some of those gated communities are the pits to live !!!
Barbie, hope your forearm gets better in the next two days!!!
me, I have a slo leak in one of my tires...off to the hydrogen air pump at CostCo.

Barbie, sounds like you are pinching a nerve. Sometimes my shoulder will do that if I move it a certain way but it's not numb. I have a pain in my left heel. I don't know if I bruised it or I have another bout with plantar fasciitis. That hasn't flared up in years. I am wearing my tennis shoes with the orthotics. Yesterday I went to Lafayette and got a pair of Skechers with the memory foam insoles. The Skechers help a little but the tennis shoes keep my foot from flexing. Tomorrow I am suppose to go on the home tour in town. We are driven from house to house but it involves some walking. The 32nd Giant Omelette Festival is this weekend. On Sunday they cook over 5,000 eggs with onions, crawfish and seasonings and serve it to the crowd. It's really just scrambled eggs. I think in 32 years I have been maybe twice.
Judy, sounds like your cousin has a nice place. I don't think I would like to live in one of the gated communities with all the rules. I don't like all the rules and the neighbor hood "police" that are always looking for something to complain about. It's bad enough that the parish tells us what we can do. We would be like Marie and Frank on Everybody Loves Raymond that got kicked out of the retirement community. :lol
The high today was 95 and it's cooled off to 90. Where is our fall weather. I was out picking up pecans and thought it was awfully hot. I feel like a Squirrel, I have picked up a bucket full of pecans and starting on another one. I will be picking pecans all winter.

Barbie; could be tendinitis (tennis elbow). Put an elastic band close to the elbow (on the forearm) and see if that works. I had to do that sometimes when I did a lot of typing at work.
