Sorry, couldn't think of anything catchy this morning. Looks like a lot of us have slept in. Cloudy and cool here this morning.

Enjoyed reading about the kitchen counters/tables being the catch all locations. See I''m not the only one. Do have to say though, that since the county started recycle program about 3 years ago, I am now in habit of stopping in garage on way into house and throwing junk mail into my recycle tote right off the he bat. But kitchen table has stuff sitting on it. Reading materials to look at while I am eating :) And, no Martha, having a bigger house would just lead to more "stuff". Have to admit that while working in shed and garage etc., that I don't have much "stuff" anymore and am finding some things I could easily put in a garage sale. This house has a basement but I could live without one.

Carolb, nice suggestion you have about my coming out to help with your "fall projects" but at the moment I have a list of my own  Hmmm, maybe those of us who have projects should all go to one person's place, get theirs done, move on to the next and so forth. What a GTG that would make. Work gets done and great way to see the country too ;)

Looks like Matthew is going to hit along the coast starting at Miami and then up the Carolinas etc., guess some of you gals are going to have to make preparations.

Time to get moving here. Want to wash hair and then load up the pile of junk lumber etc. to take to wood recycling. Few errands to run as well. Have a nice day all.

Gmorning Sue & all to follow:)

WOW, Sue, I love your idea!!! A "traveling" fall gtg to do projects :P Would that be great, or what? Just think of all we could accomplish while enjoying each other's company :D Count me in for next year!

Don't know if I mentioned that my Bro got a Trek? He & his wife have taken a couple of day trips, but they're ready for their first "overnight." SIL wants me to go with them so they'll have my dogs for protection--I think I see a dog in their future, even though they're really cat people? ;) Anyway, might be another opportunity to make it a 2-3 day "overnight" trip :D

Speaking of dogs, time for Tigg's Selsun Blue bath. He has an external yeast infection, friend said try Selsun, so I googled it. It's working:) Anita, you'd be so proud of all the googling I do these days!

Hope y'all have a great day & safe travels to all--so many of you on the road! Looking forward to seeing all those gtg pix 8-)

Good Morning!

Carolb, glad you finally caught on to Google! Poor Tigg is having more than his share. :( Sue, there was an article in the Seattle paper several years ago about a family that picked one family member a month to help. Always thought it sounded like a great idea and great fun. I think the 'host' family provided the meals.

I'm getting ready to run some errands - another no rain day! Made a reservation this morning for the Blue Ridge Parkway near Lynchburg Oct 17-30 - should find some fall colors!

Make it a great day and be safe!!

Good morning all. Sue,you make me tired with all your projects! But like Carolb, I think I like the idea of project(s) gtg!
Carol, your dogs are good watch dogs! Where are you and brother thinking about going for your "overnight" trip? You'll for sure show them how it's done! Barbie, glad you are on your way and sounds like you are having some fun along the way! Good for you. Beth, glad you got your heater fixed and can go back to plan A! And Liz and Eve, thanks for taking us along on your trip! Love the photos.

I have a few days clear and thought about heading south but it's not sounding good to try to make it along the coast. So going to have to rethink that plan. Heck, maybe I'll just go live in the rv in my driveway for a couple of days! :D

I have a dentist appointment in a little while and then back home to mow the lawn again if it's dried out enough. I can't believe how much it's grown these last few days! So better get a move on. Travel safe and have a good day.

You are right Sue, more room means you can keep more stuff but I would like to get the exercise equipment out of the dining room.

Carolb, you will have to camp with your brother for protection. lol I remember the first time my sons and I camped at a state park. I don't think we got much sleep. Every time someone turned over it woke me up. It takes a while to get your "sea legs". I would take my Mother to Dallas to see her sisters several times a year and for some reason we had to camp one time. She was worried about what all those other people were doing in the campground. Google is my friend too. Every time Harold wants to order some piece of junk I read the reviews to him.

It's a good thing Barbie is almost out of Oklahoma. The weather channel is showing bad weather and a chance of tornados behind her. I hope Donna has decided to make a trip to get away from the hurricane if she is on the East Coast. It's not looking good for Florida right now. Hopefully the storm will stay off shore but looks like it could affect most of the East Coast.

Yesterday I got most of my rose bed cleaned out and 2 bags of mulch spread that had been on the carport for months. The air conditioner drain empties into the rose bed and I usually keep a pipe on it to drain the water away. The pipe had fallen off and one rose bush was standing in water. I hope it doesn't die but it's not looking good.

I'm heading out to Sam's and Walmart. Have to stock up and pick up what I need for my trip this weekend.

Good evening gals! Long, busy, fun day!

We had thunderstorms overnight (Elk City, OK) but was clear and sunny by morning. I heard the forecast for severe storms in that area for the afternoon but apparently I got way ahead of them. Was a perfect weather day all day for me! :D

Got up early and drove into town to visit the Route 66 Museum and history farm. Very cool! Then picked up Lola from the motel and headed west. Stopped at lots of fun, interesting little towns and took pics of lots of Rte 66 stuff. Some things I found I hadn't even read about (and I have read a ton of Rte 66 books!) so that was cool too! I discovered that I get more excited about the old places that are in ruins than I do of the things that have been refurbished and are back (or still) in business. I went thru 3 camera batteries today!

I am in Tucumcari tonight at the Historic Route 66 Motel. They were one of the only "original" motels in town that allow cats. Am charging up my camera batteries so I can go take pics later of the motels around town with their neon signs lit up.

Driving was a little rough with the strong winds thru Texas. Still really windy here tonight. Am tired tonight and my eyes feel strained. Lola did good and is exploring the motel room now.

Tomorrow will head to Grant, NM, and then on to Winslow AZ on Thursday to visit with Liz. Then Prescott, and then arrive in Chandler on Saturday. I am halfway today. Once I get settled into my new "home", I will start my blog and get my pics sorted and posted there.

Hope you all had a great day! :D

Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie:

If you are going to Winslow, be sure to take a side trip and visit Meteor Crater. Really amazing. I went there once about 30 years ago, and was impressed. Had to have a big fight with my now ex husband in order to get him to stop, but even he thought it was pretty cool.

Well worth taking a look-see. Google it. :-)

I think it is also called Barringer crater.
