Good Morning on this last day of September. Seems like it was just Labor Day wasn't it? Been a busy month for a lot of us, but there were adventures and fun for some.

Back to the working around outside here, now that I'm done with a fun month. Got the last of the dirt I want to spread out done, pulled up and realigned 50 feet of split rail fence, cut neighbor grass and also our main sub entrance area as said neighbor and DW is on vacation for about 3 weeks and usually does it. He's the one who has done a lot of little things for me this summer here, so time to do for them. Also installed two new window well covers over basement windows. Today I plan to finish up the fencing I put up kind of quick earlier this summer, install a gate, then tighten up the fencing. Time to get these projects done before cold weather hits. Okay, have I tired you all out now?

Barb, I want to wish you a safe trip to AZ and best wishes in your new endeavors. JudyJB, I hear those comments from women all the time too. But I am also starting to encounter more women alone or not afraid to tackle RV driving etc. Tina, have fun in Brown County. Anita, you certainly have had an adventure to remember.

Time to get moving here. Looks like a decent day till late. Showers tomorrow again. Typical fall pattern. Y'all have a great day out here here :)

Good morning Sue everyone... well I think I'm finally making progress it seems like you have to make a big mess before things come together and it looks like you're making progress... I do not see the end of the tunnel yet but I do see progress... I took the day off on Wednesday and Margie came over from Winter Haven we went to lunch at Longhorn Steakhouse cruised around Viera and Melbourne in my RT... and we also stop at the dog beach lots of beautiful waves on Wednesday.... it is so nice to have a class B I can go anywhere and do anything and believe me in my 29 foot Class C I could not... I do have some fun plans forming up for the last part of October hopefully by that time I will be seeing the end of the tunnel... so I will let you know more when things start to come together maybe if some of you are out and about might have mini GTG. also I'm starting to feel better emotionally I was living a nightmare but now I think it's over... well that's all for right now have a good one everybody...donna

Good morning gals! :D

My neighbor came over last night because a nut hatch flew into her window and was injured. She wanted me to check it out. Its neck was not broken but had blood coming from its beak. I told her to just leave it alone for awhile and see what happens. I checked a couple hours later and he was still the same. I offered him water but he didn't want it. I am waiting now to hear from her to see if he made it thru the night or flew away.

Got a couple boxes left to pack up of last minute stuff and then start cleaning. One load of laundry too. Then have a friend coming by later to help load up the trailer and get my car top carrier on my Jeep and get that loaded up. I want to be ready to hit the road first thing in the morning. I checked the weather forecast for each location along the way and pretty much sunny the whole way. A little windy on Tuesday but otherwise should be a good trip weatherwise, not too hot until I hit Phoenix!

Donna, glad you are feeling better now. It takes time and there will be good days and bad days but as long as you take care of yourself it will make it easier.

Need to go find some breakfast now...Have a great day! :D

Update: the little bird passed away last night

Good morning all. Sue, you're right, hard to believe it's the end of September! Time does fly! Donna, glad you're seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Take care of yourself, it'll all fall in place. Barbie, tomorrow is the start of your new adventure. Safe travels to your new home.

Not much has been happening here the last week or so. I've just been working outside when the weather allows and the rest of the time doing things in the house. I'm in the process of tearing my office apart. Easy to tear apart but putting it back together is time consuming! More shredding and pitching stuff I haven't touched in a long time. Every time I start on one thing it seems I have to clean up another drawer before I can put what I want in it! Nothing new there, I guess! Part of the process! I finally took the 2 window air conditioners out of the windows yesterday. It's definately getting cooler! If this cool rainy weather keeps up I may have to turn on the big furnace in the house just to get rid of the dampness in the house. It's always a game I play with myself to see how long I can go without finally saying it's time to start it up!

Anita, loved the article about your trip in the SS! I sure enjoyed my ride and getting to visit with you. Sounds like lots of plans being made for winter. Like Cheryl, I'll be here dealing with the snow and cold and enjoying everyone elses adventures! Beth, nice that you are taking the winter to enjoy some well deserved time off.

Ok, enough rambling! Time to get back to today's chores. Maybe I'll get lucky and get the office room finished today! Plus need to get laundry going! Have a great day and travel safe.

Time to gear up! All the kids will be in one place at one time next weekend (the 8th)! Big family reception/party. People are trickling in from around the world. I'll be running back and forth to the airport a lot . . . and oh my goodness, I have to clean my house!

Good morning! I'm almost ready to roll here at 8 a.m., but socked in with fog. So, I'm waiting awhile until it lifts some. Only have about 35 miles to drive today if I can get a site in the first-come, first serve city park cig in Winslow. Hope everyone has a good day.

Liz, I've never had a problem getting a site there. Hopefully you'll find the same.

I can't believe we're closing the store on Sunday - but I am ready to head out and do some decompressing. Still looking to get my furnace fixed. Just got a call from a mobile service and he's coming out tomorrow afternoon. I didn't even ask what he's charging for the service call :o That's not like me, but it needs to be fixed. Depending on what's wrong, we'll see - but I sure would like to know I can continue with the plans to head east, visit Pat, then hopefully on to visit my sister in WI before heading south. Fingers crossed. Otherwise, I think I have a service dept at a dealer to possibly look at it this coming Thursday. Hardest part - I have a warranty - but depends who does the service, I think.

Have fun everyone.

Barbie, safe and fun travels west for you!!!

Yes Sue, you make me tired with all your projects. If I can get one thing done in a day I feel lucky. I ordered a cover for my RV roof air conditioner. I need to work on that to see if I can move the draw string that tightens it. The opening is on the end and needs to be on the side so I can reach it. My RV doesn't have a ladder and the roof is rounded so no getting on the roof. I have to reach it from the side on a ladder.

Our cool front is finally here. It was 57 last night and is only 83 today. It was a little cool in the house but I don't like switching back and forth from air to heat. I would like to see a month we don't need either and have a lower electric bill.

Donna, glad you are feeling better and sound happier.

I need to get back on cleaning my office. I don't want my son in here the next time I leave.

Have a safe trip Barbie.

Martha

Certainly a time of year of changes. Barbie moving south, others traveling south, preparing homes for winter. And then weather! Last sunday was 100 and this Sunday will be 68! And rain maybe Sunday with thundershowers! Guess its finally bye bye summer. We hope to get one last smoking session in getting smoked pork to eat for a few days and remainder bagged for freezer. We found we really liked some of it put through the food grinder for a coarse grind to add BBQ sauce for sandwiches later and it did well in freezer last time.
Saw radiation oncologist yesterday who greatly reassured us as to his scans, which had showed some ?? Places in lungs but which she said looked totally like nothing but ENT Dr is right to recheck in spring. So,guess other than rechecks we can relax finally for a few months. Whew! If I can get done what I need to on van , we will take it to my reunion in a few weeks, staying at a small rv park for a few days to visit with people some of whom I've known since kindergarten! And attend a high school football game at our alma mater! Rowdy class of 66, they better look out cuz we are coming to cheer! And hope they win! Mel fits in because he has been attending my reunions since 81!
Have a good weekend all.
Velda

I got a nice site next to the reservoir. Didn't realize there would be kayaking here. I may stay here until I have to be in Flagstaff on the 13th.

And Winslow is fun, too! Glad you are there and settled. Have fun.

On another note, I lost a very dear friend today ... he let me know he had been JUST diagnosed with lung cancer a week ago and he intended to fight with everything he had - there was no time. Remember everyone, time is limited for us all, we do no know when the end will come ... so that adage "Live like today is your last" is one we really should be living.

Been a long day!

Got almost everything packed and loaded up and cleaned my apartment. Just have a few last minute things to load in the morning and then head out. Cartop carrier is on and mostly loaded and trailer is fully loaded, locked up and hitched.

I didn't go to the John Edward thing because I was running so far behind. I gave my ticket to a friend of mine who lost her sister several years ago (murdered by her boyfriend). Hoping she gets a reading! He will be in Phoenix at the end of January so I can catch him then.

Have a few more things to do yet tonight but too tired. May just go to bed early and then get up early and do it. Will try to get almost to Kansas City tomorrow but may stop before then as that will be a 7-8 hour drive, all freeway driving. Will see how I feel. Am staying at Motel 6's since they allow cats for no extra charge and they are affordable and have lots of locations.

Will check in when I can...

Hope I remember to say Rabbits after midnight!

Beth,
Sorry about the loss of your friend. You are so right - we have limited time here. We must use it well & never neglect to let our loved ones know what they mean to us.
Barbie, safe travels. I hope you are able to leave the stress behind with each passing mile. Looking forward to hearing about your travels & your new adventure.
Donna, yes, I think it does get messier before you can see progress - but keep plugging away & that light at the end of the tunnel will get brighter & brighter.
Sue, you're just amazing with all your projects. I'm more like Martha - if I can get 1 thing done a day (or week) I consider it a success.
Liz, love the place you've landed - its looks very serene.
Well, I'd better get before morning rolls around again. :)
take care, Catherine
