Sunday, Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday, the 18th

Good morning Everybody from sunny and cool CT. Ten grain cereal and freshly picked raspberries for breakfast, if you'd like. I'm not sure if this post is opening Morning Coffee or not...all our regulars are busy this morning doing other things. I've started my cardio rehab and building up my strength and stamina. That's about all I'm doing.
Sandi, I enjoyed the gtg photo of you, Catherine, Laura and her friend Alice.
Ava, I can feel your excitement as Jan 17th gets closer and closer. Enjoy today. Peggy

Sunday, Sunday

Postby Othersharon » Sun Sep 18, 2016 10:32 am

Good morning all! Quiet here this morning. Woke up to cloudy skies this morning, rain later today into tomorrow so more inside tasks. I did manage to get my carpets scrubbed yesterday. When I saw the amount of dirt I sucked out I can see having all hardwood floors! Of course having two big dogs on it doesn't help!

Liz, you are seeing some beautiful country, thanks for sharing. Donna, hope you were able to get some rest last night. Tina, are you showing the pups this week end? Can't remember if you said you were or not! Judy, glad your test came out good. That is stressful, been there, done it.

Well, coffee is done for the morning so guess I should get busy. First thing is to sit down and write a big check for real estate taxes. Ouch! Then on to more pleasurable things like scrubbing the bathroom! Have a good day and travel safe.

Good morning, Sharon.

I, too, was always amazed at the color of the water after cleaning my carpets - yikes!

I'm so glad to be back in CA. I love KS & my family there, but I know I belong out here with my 2 youngest kiddos & grand baby. (Plus you can't beat this weather!)

Loved seeing Sarah's pic of our KS GTG 2 years ago on FB. What a great time we had!
Also had a great visit with Sandi, Laura & Alice this week out here. If anyone else comes to Disneyland or anywhere close by, give me a buzz, I'd love to meet more of you.

Donna, hope you get some rest & experience peace as you traverse the next few days.

Already had my coffee - doing laundry now & then continue to unload 'stuff' from the big van - making this little apartment truly my home. :)
Hope everyone enjoys their day.
Take care,
Catherine

Gmorning/afternoon Sharon, Catherine, & Peggy who, yes, you did open morning coffee by a few minutes:)

And it's nice to see you check in Peg, & glad rehab is going well! Thanks OSharon for keeping me informed while I was absent from MC. Just returned from a 10 day trip to see Irmi & Steve, and also my dog park friends in DE (from my broken wrist debacle last year). Had an absolutely wonderful time...

Looking at fall projects here. Just a few things left in the veggie garden, not much mowing going on due to insufficient rain & lower night temps, but perennials need some attention before they go dormant. Haven't made any firm decisions about my winter trip, but have pretty much decided to extend my stay at home til after Tday. Mostly want to give Tigg's lungs a break from allergens before I head to areas that have extended growing seasons...

Off to do more laundry. Y'all have a great day & be safe always 8-)

Way past morning here. Not much going on. It hasn't rained today for a change. My son decided to put up the paper box that has been on the porch for 6 months even though it was 100 degrees outside. He decided we need a new mail box so is off to Lowe's for supplies. I admit the old box was looking pretty shabby but hey, the mail lady wasn't complaining. lol

Some friends ask me to go to the beach with them next weekend and I'm trying to decide if I am going. I don't like the way he drives and their place is on the 10th floor. I don't like to be over the second floor of a building. Boy, I'm a pain in the behind to take anywhere.

We have been having internet problems since Friday. Of course AT&T thinks it's our problem not their's. Some company is putting down a cable a couple of miles from us so I am wondering if they are messing with something. I might get something done if I didn't have internet for a few days. I am wondering how much these companies and the state communicate. The state has plans to redo an intersection up the road and where the cable company has put flags will be under the new road. With all the budget problems and disasters the state has had this year I just don't see that project being done for a while. A bridge that was damaged in the last flooding needs to be replaced on the only road to the port. They will put some companies out of business if they close that bridge. I have seen some of the state's bridge projects and a small bridge on a 2 lane road can take over a year. Maybe someone can light a fire under them.

Late evening here...

Spent the last few days going thru photos and getting them organized and tossing a lot. I had found a journal of my aunts and asked her granddaughter if she wanted it. She said yes. I then found lots of old photos that I thought she might also be interested in, so I drove up north today to deliver them all to her. We had a great conversation about lots of family stuff. She was very happy to get all the photos and journal.

I tried out my new GPS on the drive up to her house and it works really good so far, easy to use. :D

I found another box of more recent photos so have been going thru all those too. So many!! Still have two big piles to go thru and label yet.

Have two days off this week to start getting things boxed up and see what more I need to get rid of yet. There is a church down the road that is having a rummage sale next weekend so I will be dropping stuff off there for that. Then the next week I will have 4 days to get things packed and organized in my Jeep before hitting the road on October 1st.

I bought a calming collar today for Lola and have it on her now. I need to get her used to her new carrier for the trip.

Back to work tomorrow...
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
