Wednesday, first driving day

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday, first driving day

Postby beazle » Wed Sep 14, 2016 3:55 am

Morning, friends! First time I ever opened Coffee, & today is the first day we drive our new rig, even though we've been staying in it for the past 2 nights. Our "maiden voyage" was complicated by the death of my dear mother-in-law, at 99 years of age. Blessing to be free of pain, & dementia took much of her away over the past several years, but still sad. We've been staying at the factory while we test, try & learn about the MH, but today we get the hitch install done to both RV & car, so tomorrow we head up to Midland, MI for the funeral on Friday. Don't know about you all, but trying to sleep in a MH parked 50 yds from the Indiana Toll Road is no good: there is no sleeping. So, we're up early to get cleaned up, packed up & ready to roll. Wish us luck in the driving today...it's all learning curve these days. Pictures will be available after the funeral business is done.
Peace,
Eileen

Sorry to hear about you MIL Eileen, but big congrats on picking up the MH. Have fun, drive safe, and keep us filled in on how the maiden voyage goes.

Not much {{{shaking}}} around here. Fall temps today, and them back to some humidity on Friday, but anything coming now won't last long. Have a good day everyone and stay safe on the roads.

Morning Eileen, Cheryl and all,

Best of luck getting that MH to Midland, Eileen. Am looking forward to seeing it after you get to northern MI eventually. In the meantime, I'm getting ready myself to roll out on Friday again. Friends are headed to Indian Lake State Park in the U.P. so am going to join them for the weekend. Need to clean up the trailer inside a bit from last outing and then tomorrow will start loading what I need for this trip. Mostly the food stuff as other things are in anyway. Also need to make bed and return washed towels etc. that I did after I got home. Then will come home on Monday for an appt. and wait and see where things go from there.

So this morning is off to bank, store and farmer's market. Since it rained yesterday, got the house cleaned and also took delivery of a new stove for the kitchen. Love this one as it's same as one I had in other house.

Better get a move on here. Time is going already. Shorter days make for less accomplished in a day now and of course one has to take the girls on their daily excursion or one will not hear the end of that. Was thinking yesterday, that evening walks are going to have to become mid afternoon walks pretty soon. Y'all have a great day out there.

Rainy good morning from Oklahoma City. Should clear by 11:00 or so. Sorry to hear about your MIL Eileen, even though it did free her from any pain. Death is just so final. So happy you have your new home and getting it all rigged up. One of the things I do for loud noise and sleeping is to turn on the radio. I have XM and can select what kind of music I want for the night. There are speakers right over the bed and that makes me a happy sleeping camper. It looks as though fall is going to make an entrance several times down here, but that is normal for Sept. Just rare we get 100's now. Humidity may drown us!

Sue, hope your trip is sunny and cool with lots of walks for the girls and talks for you. For those to follow I hope your day is all you want it to be. If you are on the road, be safe. All of you should have some fun!

Good morning gals! Sunny, cool and beautiful day today. Off to work at noon.

Spent most of yesterday in my garage going thru boxes and stuff out there and trying to stay away from all the spiders out there! Tons of books are going bye-bye (going to Half-Price Books and hopefully get some $$ for them). Found some of my mom's things and a big box full of loose photos and albums. Need to spend a day going thru all those. I figure if I don't know who is in them, they go. No one else still alive who would know who they are or care (lots of old family photos).

Hopefully my Jeep will be done today and can pick that up tonight.

I bought a Magellan Roadmate GPS. Need to take some time to figure that out. Hopefully will be user-friendly!

Have a good day! :D

Barbara, if your family is from local area, maybe offer the photos to a historical or genealogy group?
We have been below temps in 70's for a few days but now back to normal 90's for weekend.
Trying to decide where I want to go for my birthday dinner tomorrow.

I also came across a diary of my moms sister. I contacted one of her granddaughters who is into family history to see if she wants that.

How neat to find a diary. Did you read it yet? I found my Moms diary from her senior year in high school which is when I realized my parents met in high school, though Mom refused to marry until she finished college and paid off her debts. dad was a patient guy and got his girl in the end!
