Good Morning from Cherokee, NC!

Basically an uneventful drive yesterday - got rained on once for a few minutes. Drove right between dark clouds getting here! Hoping what I see on the radar moves NE or I'm going to get wet today!

I enjoyed meeting Vicki and Dave last evening at their campground! It was their potluck night so got to try some of their cooking - yum! Their elk herd didn't present itself :( I did see a mama and yearling (looked too big to be new) beside the road yesterday.

Great to see so many posts the last few days. Gotta get going. Make it a great day and be safe!

Gmorning Anita & all to follow :)

How exciting that you have your first day behind you, Anita. Especially an "uneventful" one weatherwise:) Hope the rest of your trip is that way. I hear so much about Vickie & Dave's cooking--I'll have to meet up with them some day just for that!

All is well here. Bro returned from his 2 wk trip & will be over later today to help harvest many maters. Then MO Bro arrived last night to visit for a long weekend. Always a good time when the three of us get together.

Alice, we sure don't expect the young ones to leave us so soon:( At my age, preparing for loss is still difficult. Still so sad about Patty K...

Diana, newbies always welcome--we were all newbies once;)

Enjoy your day & be safe always 8-)

Made it to campground near my son last night and am all settled here for a few days. Waiting for rental car pickup and then going to dinner at son's house tonight and have grandson spend the night. WIll have each child over on a different night. Easier than dealing with arguments when I try to have all three at once!

Weather is nice. Last night was first night I have been where it dropped to less than 65 in several weeks, so nice to sleep in cooler temps. Got to run, more later.

Good Morning to All. We are just east and down the hill from Cottonwood, AZ. Last night it got below 60 degrees. Love it. It's been between 85 and low 90s around us. Cooler in Sedona and warmer in Cottonwood. We've been here three afternoons and had rain about 3:00 every afternoon. This morning the sky is blue and not overcast so imagine it will warm up quickly. Weather forecast does call for rain every day this week.
I saw our hometown Vegas must have had some monsoon weather yesterday - saw flash flood warnings on TV for there.
We're staying here at least a week, then don't know what we'll do - go somewhere else, stay longer, or go home. Have to be home by 9/16.
Posted some pictures from here yesterday. And took took a short walk on one of the trails here at the campground. Today no plans yet.
Drive safely and enjoy your trips or whatever you are doing at home.

I'm working closing shift today and tomorrow, so relaxing in bed, reading posts, etc and not rushing to start my day.

I just visited our gtg room and it's exciting to see so many possibilities. I hope bunches of you can work some of them into your plans. Jello plans here to get to Quartzsite. Judy, I'd love to join you in San Diego, but know I'll be working then. Those are great prices for that area.

Anita. I hope you have fun daily rides and mostly stay dry!

I saw the new doctor last week, and yesterday the results of my blood work came in. Ha! This young woman read them exactly as I do, following current NIH guidelines. Hurrah! She was also very sane during our first meeting. Didn't even flinch when I told her I regard health care as a collaboration and double-check everything. I think getting them just a couple years out of their residency is the trick.

So today I will have the great pleasure of writing a very snarky letter to my former doctor and explaining just how wrong her approach is. I've been looking forward to that! I just wanted to make sure of the new doctor first.

My medical care is looking up!

I am gathering up things to bring to go help a friend pack up things for an aunt who's house flooded. I'm sure plastic bins are in short supply now and I have some that we have emptied. Her aunt is 84 and this has really affected her. It's hard to go through a flood at her age or at any age. The temperature is back up to 100 and I doubt the air conditioning is working. I might better pack a fan too.

Anita, hope you don't run into any rain.
